O’Leary to miss Lions tour

Scrumhalf Tomas O’Leary has fractured his ankle and will not feature in the British & Irish Lions series this June.

The Ireland No 9 sustained the injury on duty for Munster against Llanelli on Friday. It’s been confirmed he will be sidelined for several months and will miss the historic tour to South Africa.

Welshman Dwayne Peel, England’s Danny Care, Scotland captain Mike Blair and Ireland’s Peter Stringer are the candidates to replace O’Leary.
