Clermont centre Marius Joubert will not play again this season after injuring his groin.
The former Springbok No 13 sustained the injury in Clermont’s Top 14 victory over Bayonne and will now undergo surgery next week. He will miss Clermont’s remaining fixtures as they strive to win the domestic title.
Joubert made a name for himself at the Stormers but after a string of injuries fell out of favour and moved north to the Cheetahs in 2007. He won the Absa Currie Cup with the central union later that year.
