Gayle looks to sign off in style

Chris Gayle will be hoping to make a significant contribution against Mumbai in his last game for Kolkata before he joins up with the West Indies squad in England.

The Knight Riders, who finished sixth last year, have picked up only one win in six games this season in South Africa, but the table this year is very compact and one victory could lift the them to mid-table and keep alive their hopes of a semi-final berth.

Gayle’s availability against a quality Indians outfit could make a big difference particularly with his ability both bat and ball.

The Knight Riders though come up against some formidable opposition in the form of the Sachin Tendulkar led Mumbai Indians.

When these two teams met earlier in the week openers Sachin Tendulkar  (68) and Sanath Jayasuriya (52) set up a thumping 92-run victory for the Indians with a first-wicket partnership of 127.
