Blues lock Ali Williams’s latest foot injury could sideline him for the remainder of the Super 14 and the All Blacks’ mid-year Tests.

Williams has battled with an Achilles injury this season and limped off in Friday’s loss to the Hurricanes with a similar ailment. Williams will undergo further tests but he’s likely to be sidelined for an extended period.

The Blues picked up a valuable bonus point in defeat and if they do scrape through to the play-offs, they’ll need a player of Williams’s class fit and firing.
