The Rajasthan Royals will be looking to turn around their defeat to Bangalore earlier in the season.
The teams meet at Centurion on Thursday in a repeat of the day one fixture at Newlands, where the Royal Challengers Bangalore breezed past the defending champs with Anil Kumble claiming five wickets.
Both teams are coming off confidence-boosting wins and are in contention for the semis, while Rajasthan will be buoyed by Proteas captain Graeme Smith’s return to form.
‘It’s about time,’ Smith quipped after smashing 77 against the Kings XI Punjab. ‘I’ve been a bit tentative at times, so it was nice to get in and build my confidence. It’s a crucial time of the competition now, so we need to get our big players in form.’
‘It was a real clinical performance from the team,’ he said of the win.
Jacques Kallis also starred for the Challengers in their most recent outing, and along with the pair other South Africans that could be involved in the match include Mark Boucher, Roelof van der Merwe, Dillon du Preez and Dale Steyn – who all play for Bangalore.
