Bosch bash sloppy SACS
9 May 2009
Rondebosch score 40 unanswered points in hammering SACS 52-21 at home.
Both sides were coming off shock losses (Bosch to St Stithian’s and SACS to Tygerberg) and the local derby made it an even more pensive opening.
SACS surprised the hosts as they went into a 14-0 lead after 10 minutes, but for the rest of the match they looked pretty disinterested. A pathetic missed tackle from SACS flyhalf Kyran Hawkins allowed burly prop Joel Carew to strolled in for the first of his brace and Rondebosch never gave up their ascendancy.
The hosts dominated the set phases as well as the breakdown, but SACS centre Godfrey Tundube managed to sneak a try as the ball popped out of a ruck and they went into a 21-12 lead. But another bout of pitiful SACS defence allowed Bosch hooker Gareth Topkin to ease over as they closed the gap 21-19 at the break.
Bosch’s five coaches (including Robbie Kempson) had much to say and clearly altered their tactics as they pinned SACS in their own half. In contrast, the visitors’ half backs were making their opening first XV matches for the season and couldn’t match their opponents in the battle for territory. Bosch had most of the ball via their dominance up front while they were also aided by SACS’ disorganised defence which kept rushing up out of line.
Flanker Jamie Croeser grabbed a double as did pacy reserve winger Justin Fillies as SACS succumbed to an embarrassing defeat.

there is 1 head coach, with two assitants, one of them being Rob Kempson. Those are the facts! Well done Bosch. 16 out of 21 wins for the whole school is superb.
