Selborne leave it late

Selborne College claimed a 10-5 home win against Dale College in muddy conditions on Saturday.

While the hosts enjoyed 75% of the possession, they failed to capitalise on the scoring opportunities that came their way and no points were scored by either side in the first half.

Dale centre Andile Jho opened the scoring two minutes after the break with an unconverted try. Dale scrumhalf Bangi Kobesi failed with a penalty attempt soon after, with the ball hitting the crossbar.

Late in the second half, Selborne lock Callan Venter barged over for a try, before wing Ndima Gwavu put his side into the lead for the first time with eight minutes to go.

Selborne flyhalf Dale Sabbagh missed both conversions as well as two penalties in the first 20 minutes.
