Waratahs scrumhalf Brett Sheehan’s shoulder charge on Brad Barritt has been termed ‘unavoidable’ by a Sanzar judiciary.
A disciplinary hearing was held on Monday into the citing of Sheehan and his case was heard by Dekker Govender. Sheehan admitted his shoulder made contact with the Sharks player and Govender ruled the incident between the two players was unavoidable as both players were running at each other at pace. Govender added that the incident was a collision rather than a tackle.
Sheehan will be available for selection in the Waratahs’ next Super 14 match against the Lions in Johannesburg on Friday night.
