Tigers take English title
16 May 2009
Leicester beat London Irish 10-9 at Twickenham to secure their eighth Premiership title.
Loose forward Jordan Crane scored the game’s only try on the hour. This gave the Tigers a narrow lead that they successfully defended for 20 minutes. It was a great comeback for Crane who was yellow-carded earlier for a cynical infringement, and a great comeback for the Tigers’ pack that was bossed by London Irish in the initial stages.
Leicester now have a great chance at doing the double given they face Leinster next Saturday in the European Cup final at Murrayfield.
