#20 Red Rose: You have a very bad memory I see!! Let me help you. PRG never lost to Boishaai in the last 3 years and will win again this year. PRG beat Paarl Gym this year, my apologies, PRG gave Gym a hiding this year!! (LOL) PRG only lost once to Landbou and Gym in the last 4 years (still to play Landbou this year) PRG has a 50-50 record against Bishops in the last 4 years. PRG has only lost 2 games this year! (LOL)

#18 Bergie: Bergie , perrhaps you should rather worry about how the wheels will no come off for you beloved PRG team , your team is never be one who can handle the pressure and normally one lost will mean many will follow . Your memory of your team success against Paarl Gym and Boishaai and even Landbou ( not forgeeting Bishops ) is not rosy at all , you should rather get your facts in order , you are clearly struggeling with selective memory .

Ek het die stuk op Facebook gelees oor Marlow!

Die Hoër Landbouskool Marlow roem daarop dat hulle rugbyspelers ontwikkel en nie koop soos van die groter skole in ons stede nie. Die feit dat die skool hierdie jaar 15 provinsiale rugbyspelers opgelewer het, wat amper 10 % van sy skool se rugbyspelers uitmaak getuig hiervan. Van die seuns wat hierdie jaar vir die Oostelike Provinsie Platteland Cravenweekspan gekies is, het op Marlow vir die eerste keer begin rugby speel. Omdat 80% van Marlow se leerders vanuit die platteland kom, en omdat Marlow nie kontrakte aanbied nie is daar gewoonlik min O/13 Cravenweekspelers wat na Marlow kom. Tog is Marlow die skool wat hierdie jaar die meeste provinsiale rugbyspelers in die Oos-Kaap opgelewer het. Vir die afgelope drie jaar het Marlow byna 40 provinsiale spelers gelewer.

Op Marlow word daar gedoen en nie net gepraat nie, daarvan getuig die skool se rugbyprestasies. Met 14 rugbyafrigters wat elke dag poog om ‘n student van die spel te bly, kan dit nie anders nie dat die skool se seuns blootgestel word aan die nuutste afrigtingsmetodes en denkrigtings in rugby nie. Verder word die seuns blootgestel aan sterk kompetisie deurdat die skool meer as 20 000 km jaarliks aflê om teen groot skole in Bloemfontein, Grahamstad, Kimberley, Port Elizabeth, Uitenhage en George te speel.

Die skool se rugby word verder ondersteun en gehelp met groot borgskappe en die feit dat die seuns toernooie soos die prestige KES toernooi in Johannesburg bywoon, en ‘n jaarlikse O/15 rugbytoer na Kaapstad of Durban onderneem dra by tot hulle ontwikkeling.

Die feit dat die seuns die geleentheid kry om almal vanuit koshuise op ‘n tipiese Karooplaas skool te gaan dra by tot die spangees, karakter en tradisies wat help met die ontwikkeling van ‘n Marlowrugbyspeler. Dit maak alles maak Marlow uniek.

Marlow se 1ste span is nog in die Oos-Kaap onoorwonne. Verlede Saterdag klop die span vir Diamantveld van Kimberley oortuigend met 29 – 13 en die afgelope naweek wen Marlow die sterk span van Hoërskool Framesby op Framesby se tuisveld met 16 punte teenoor 6.

#17 RDPollard: Maybe Paarl Boys has a better u16 team? But that is all they have, when last did the 1st team not get a beating from Paarl Gym or when last did they beat Paul Roos or any team that playes without bells on the balls.

Paul Roos has a good team this year, if they will beat Grey Bloem is to be seen. I do beleive they will be more competative against Grey this year than the last 2 years. The good news for PRG is that the majority of the 1st team is in GR11 and their current under 16 team has a great record. Only time will tell…BTW PRG should walk their match against Bishops this weekend!

As a Paul Roos Oldboy, I would just like to make a correction. PRG have lost one game this season, to Affies at St Johns, with a score of 22-25. Looking forward to Saturdays game against Bishops.
