Selborne are now up to 12th, with St Andrew’s dropping down to 18th.

Where are the 3 Natal private schools? It’s weird seeing Glenwood and Westville there but not Kearsney (especially), Michaelhouse and/or Hilton.
And my my, how the mighty Maritzburg College have fallen… What’s going on there?

#3 KingPaul: Sadly Paarl Gim is not up to standard this year. From their last 13 games they have only won 6. They will be back…..

#3 KingPaul: Dit is net die top 20 rugbyskole wat genoem word, nie die klein en meduim skole nie …

heres hoping Wynberg smash SACS and break into the top 10!

#7 sharkiedubai: I have a good feeling your wish will be granted. SACS struggled against the Paul Roos 2nd team that never needed to change gears, SACS then scored a try 5 minutes after injury time has come and gone! Keep your eyes on the SACS hooker he likes the off the ball stuff. SACS have a Huge inside center that will run over any team in the Cape but he is for some reason not even trying to do it. Good luck and enjoy.

#2 Dantalian: Can we maybe oneday have an article about this please? I’m not disputing any of the rankings just curious to know how this works.
Thanking you in advance.

Geez, everyone is entitled to an opinion, but to put Marlow, KES, Monnas above Paul Roos??? You must be smoking….
My top 5 would be:
1. Grey Bloem
2. Paul Roos
3. Affies
4. Monument
5. Outeniqua
6. Paarl Boys
7. Bishops
8. Paarl Gym
9. Waterkloof
10. Grey PE

#2 and #9 Dantallion, its Gareth W who covers schoolboy derby under my alias untill i fix up my user name and password. The rankings are calculated by taking the strength of the school, the opposition they played against and the win/loss ratio throughout the season.
I hope that this helps you.Regrads

#11 frenchie: Thanks Gareth.

Paul Roos have had poor run of late hence not in the top 2,Marlow have lost 2 from 18 games and have been outstanding this season and KES have lost 1 game all year.
18 Jun 2009, 14:15 pm
#13 frenchie: Marlow and KES have not played quality opposition yet – and probably wont. The only half good teams they played- Pta Boys, Grey PE, and Grey Bloem – they lost….
Whereas Monnas and Outeniqua have played the bigger schools and won.

Not sure if anyone has any idea, but does anybody know where I can find the KZN craven week sides for 2009? Seems as if Natal are useless at publishing who is in the sides and from what schools.
18 Jun 2009, 19:47 pm
For me its wierd how the Kearsney v Maritzburg college will have any bearing on the rankings seeing that neither side is in the top 20 at all?

#10 Cheetha Champs: Errrr…….the rankings are based on a point system. Nobody put KES, Marlow, and Monnas above Paul Roos. They simply won more games (even if the opposition was weaker).
So thanks for your Top 5, but the rankings aren’t up for selection

None of these ghastly schools would stand a chance against Wellington.
Have your say
