Four former Bath players will face a disciplinary hearing for allegedly failing to take a drugs test.
Matt Stevens was banned from all rugby for two years for testing positive for cocaine at the end of last year. Now Michael Lipman, Alex Crockett, Andrew Higgins and former Wallaby Justin Harrison must answer charges including taking prohibited substances and refusing to take a drugs test.
The quartet all deny the charges and have subsequently left the club on bad terms, where it was claimed they didn’t take tests on three separate occasions after an end-of-season party.
Harrison was allegedly involved in a brawl at the event and hence retired from rugby with immediate effect.
The RFU has continued its investigations into the affair and now believes there is a case to answer. The date for the hearing still has to be confirmed.
