X-rays to a possible broken cheekbone will determine Zane Kirchner’s availability for the Blue Bulls’ hosting of Western Province.

Kirchner took a big knock in last Saturday’s game against the Lions and was subbed shortly after half-time. The Bulls’ medical staff feel it may not be as serious as a broken bone, but will have to wait until the swelling has subsided before taking X-rays.

Should the X-rays confirm the worst, Tiger Mangweni is likely to take Kirchner’s place at fullback.
