Carter passes club test
25 Jul 2009
Dan Carter made his long-awaited return when he played 80 minutes of club rugby on Saturday.
The All Blacks flyhalf helped his Southbridge club beat Hornby 34-13 in front of 2,000 people in Christchurch.
While Carter was successful with just two out of six kicks at goal, he said he was pleased just to be back in action.
‘I haven’t really thought too much about the All Blacks. I just want to get back playing rugby,’ Carter told TV3.
‘You can do so much rehab and get in the gym and do speed work … but until you’re out on the field its different so it’s a start and I really enjoyed it.’
Carter said he was available for Canterbury’s opening NZ Cup match against North Harbour next week ‘if I’m wanted’.

2/6 is pretty good for Carter

#1 Big Hit:
which is about what DC landed last year at Newlands.
19 could have been 30. Mind you he created one and scored another.
How many points would Jonny have got on an off-day 2/6 ? my guess is 6.

#2 WakaNathan: I’ve never seen Jonny have a true off-day kicking at goal, certainly never in the 2 from 6 range.

#4 Big Hit:
he’s had a couple in NZ for starters. Noone is perfect, BH, least of all Wilko. You take away his phenomenal kicking and thats 60% of his game.
I hope he has an injury-free run in France, he certainly deserves it. He seems to have picked up a tan that Ronaldo would be pleased with and is the highest paid player on the Planet (not that he went there for money, aye BH). Cant be all bad.

#5 WakaNathan: I didn’t say he was perfect, but he’s never hit 2/6 in any game. I don’t think he is the highest paid player on the planet in terms of wages from his club.

#6 Big Hit:
E750k per season. Wont be any other club salary higher than that.

#7 WakaNathan: paper talk, 350k is closer to the mark.
