SA Schools suffered an embarrassing 45-13 defeat to England U18 in Kimberley on Friday.
Winger Chris Wade scored a hat-trick for the tourists, fullback Jack Wallace grabbed a double and centre Andy Short added the other try. England flyhalf George Ford kicked three conversions and three penalties.
For SA Schools, Paul Roos centre Philippus du Plessis scored their only try, with Paarl Gym flyhalf William van Wyk slotting a conversion and two penalties.
‘The result is disappointing but I think we have learnt a lot of lessons following these two matches against Italy and England,’ said SA Schools coach Chris October.
‘We must remember that while the England U18 team have been together for the last six months and have competed in many matches this year, this has only been our second game in the space of one week.
‘This has been the first time a SA Schools team has played an international. While the players were disappointed with the result, I told them that hopefully many of them would one day play against England again at international level.’
