SA extend rankings lead

The Springboks’ third successive triumph has seen them increase the gap at the top of the IRB world rankings.

After home victories over their two nearest rivals, the Springboks are now 1.77 ranking points ahead of New Zealand. South Africa started the Tri-Nations in second position, but have now firmly entrenched their spot at the top of the rankings – an improvement of 1.74 points since the start of the competition.

Australia remain in third spot, still well clear of the top northern hemisphere side, Ireland.
