Dan Carter has been named in the All Blacks’ 26-man squad for the upcoming Test against Australia.
The selection of Carter suggests incumbent flyhalf Stephen Donald may warm the bench in next week’s fixture. Donald has had a poor Tri-Nations and the whole of New Zealand, despite Richie McCaw’s claims to the contrary, will be hoping Carter can perform a miracle to get their campaign back on track.
The only top player to not make the squad was halfback Piri Weepu who is unavailable due to an ankle injury.
The All Blacks will have their first training session on Monday, and the match 22 will be announced on Tuesday.
