Corne Uys and David de Villiers have recovered from a severe bout of flu and should feature against Boland this Saturday.
Uys is likely return to the Cheetahs’ midfield despite JW Jonker’s try-scoring efforts in the 71-17 massacre of the Leopards last Friday. Key lineout man De Villiers will also be back to bolster the Free State pack.
Cheetahs assistant coach Hawies Fourie told keo.co.za his side were aiming for five log points against the Leopards and five log points against the Kavaliers. Having achieved their goal in Potchefstroom, they will be favourites to pick up the four-try bonus again this Saturday.
Fourie also spoke about improving the Cheetahs’ poor points difference. After thumping Chaka Willemse’s men, Free State now boast a 29-point difference between points attained and conceded – a turnaround from last week where they were at sitting at -25.
The Cheetahs still languish in sixth position on the Currie Cup log, but these big wins will aid them in laying the platform for a late play-off charge.
