Dan Carter will wear the All Blacks No 10 jersey against the Wallabies on Saturday.
Carter recently proved his fitness in two NZ Cup matches for Canterbury and has predictably been rushed back in for Stephen Donald.
Luke McAlister starts at 12, even though he has blown hot and cold since his return from Sale. His selection is also a gamble considering he sat out Tuesday’s training run after what appeared to be a recurrence of a back problem.
The only change in the forwards sees Kieran Read come in at No 8.
Donald, Ma’a Nonu and Rodney So’oialo have all been relegated to the bench.
‘It doesn’t get much bigger than this,’ said All Blacks coach Graham Henry. ‘The Bledisloe Cup is on the line and it’s really a win or lose [situation] in the Tri Nations so that makes it an exciting challenge for us.’
