Schalk still sidelined
7 Oct 2009
Schalk Burger failed to take part in Tuesday’s contact session and will not be risked in WP’s final league match against the Lions.
The Springbok flanker is still feeling the effects of a rib injury sustained in South Africa’s final Tri-Nations match. WP coach Allister Coetzee told keo.co.za on Monday Burger would be assessed in Tuesday’s contact session against the WP U21s. If he came through that practice, he would be considered.
Province forwards coach Matt Proudfoot told The Cape Times Burger took part in the lineouts, but did not take contact. He will thus only be considered for the semi-final next week.
