Hayes available for Bok clash

Ireland prop John Hayes has been banned for six weeks for stamping on a player’s face, but will be available to face the Springboks.

The Munster prop intentionally stood on Cian Healy’s face during their 30-0 loss to Leinster on Saturday and received a red card. However, the IRFU disciplinary panel of Hugh Logan (chairman), Stephen Hilditch and Neil Jackson deemed the incident not serious enough for a longer ban.

The suspension ends on 14 November, and the British & Irish Lion will be available for the Test against Australia the following day, as well as Fiji (21 November) and the Boks seven days later.
