A nation of champions
23 Dec 2009
South African rugby’s trophy cabinet has never been this full.
While the Boks finished the year on a disappointing note, it didn’t change the fact that in 2009 they added the Tri-Nations trophy, Lions series trophy, Freedom Cup and Mandela Plate to the Webb Ellis Cup that they won in 2007. The Bulls, of course, claimed the Super 14 title for the second time while the Springbok Sevens team finally got their hands on the World Series trophy.
To celebrate these achievements, SA Rugby magazine assembled all of the above silverware and took a unique cover photo that makes its new bumper 150-page edition a collector’s one.
Also in the new issue:
– Andries Bekker on his injury nightmare, learning from Victor Matfield and why the Stormers are better off without Luke Watson
– Why selection and tactical blunders were to blame for the Springboks’ disastrous European trip
– Jaque Fourie on shrugging off life’s disappointments, his contract dispute with the Lions, and mentoring Juan de Jongh at the Stormers
– Why the Southern Kings will only see Super Rugby if Saru makes some strong decisions and there is unity between the three provincial unions that make up the franchise
– Over a pint of Guinness, Munster centre Jean de Villiers talks about broadening his horizons, chirping Ronan O’Gara and his plans to return to South Africa in 2010
– A South African coach, South African businessman and a clutch of South African players have reversed the fortunes of Saracens

We are well deserved Champs.
Has any other rugby nation held so many trophies at once?
14 Dec 2009, 08:03 am
Unfortunately it looks like the Sevens trophy will be leaving our shores….
14 Dec 2009, 08:07 am
@jondood:
Aus might have come close in 1999.
14 Dec 2009, 08:07 am
@PissAnt:
Or 2000/2001
14 Dec 2009, 08:09 am
Congrats to the Boks on a (mostly) outstanding year. They were Kings of 2009, no question. Every match will be ultra-tough in 2010 though as every team now aims to dethrone the Boks.
NZ have already begun the dethroning job and:
- have taken over as world #1 ranked side
- have surged into the lead on the 7′s circuit
- are the world under 21 champs.
Expect every team to come at the Boks ultra-hard. That’s what happens when you have been at the top.
14 Dec 2009, 08:11 am
@Delek:
Yes after being on top we can only go down, however lets see what happens come 2010/11.
14 Dec 2009, 08:12 am
@PissAnt:
Aus 2001.
Brumbies won the Super 12
Aus held the Bledisloe and 3N
World Cup holders at the time
Won the Lions series in 2001
Cant get details of the Sevens in 2001 though.
14 Dec 2009, 08:14 am
@PissAnt:
So pretty much even then.
Did they have number one status as well?
14 Dec 2009, 08:25 am
@jondood:
I would assume they did, won pretty much everything that year.
14 Dec 2009, 08:37 am
well done to all players, teams, coaches and management involved… it’s be a good year…
however…
it’s one thing to become champions…
it’s quite another to remain champions…
I wish South Africa would demonstrate the focused, ruthless determination to win IN SPITE of being champions… but in true SA tradition… once we’re on top we become complacent and exhibit a sense of entitlement which sees us have our asses handed to us time and again…
14 Dec 2009, 09:15 am
mossie to mentor juan de jongh? Hhmm
14 Dec 2009, 09:23 am
@jondood: If I remember correctly they didn’t start the ranking system until some time after 2001, and I am not sure if the 7′s had the World Series trophy at that stage, so all in all, I would suggest that the success of the Aussies in 2001 and before can be compared with the Boks of 2007.
The Aussies went on to the final of the 2003 World Cup-in order for this Bok group to cement their legacy, they need to be competitive next year and in 2011.
14 Dec 2009, 09:25 am
The Boks have peaked between world cups.
14 Dec 2009, 09:43 am
@TheTackler:
As far as I know the NZ’landers are ranked #1 at the end of 2009?
14 Dec 2009, 09:47 am
@TheTackler:
ahem… peaked between world cups…?
if memory serves…
we peaked AT the 2007 World Cup…!!
but nice to know you still consider us to be the top team in the world…
sure your New Zealand countrymen will have something to say about that…!
14 Dec 2009, 09:51 am
#1 ranking isn’t the same as peaking. For NZ regaining the #1 ranking is merely resuming regular business as usual, nothing worth resting on one’s laurels about.
14 Dec 2009, 09:56 am
@TheTackler: It is regular business for them, and come 2011, New Zealand will finish the year as number 1 after having been knocked out of the semi-finals at the World Cup.
New Zealand players will have to get tips from Indian cricketers about how to avoid the angry, effigy burning lynch mobs.
14 Dec 2009, 10:07 am
@jondood:
I think you will find Oz did have the #1 spot and managed to keep it more than a few weeks,ulike one team i know of
Anyway a good year for the boks,they havnt had one better. Shame about the end of the year tour.but you cant let that get in the way of some mighty fine wins,congrats guys
14 Dec 2009, 10:12 am
@Hurricane:
spoken like to true gentleman and rugby aficionado…!!
Well done to NZ for getting over their ‘yips’…
gonna be a great and interesting 2010…
the slate is clean…
14 Dec 2009, 10:12 am
@WOLFMAN21:
Unlike 2007 where we didnt finish with the #1 spot.
Its nice to know people will write us off,which is fine by me,those are the people that will dissapear from Keo for a long time,just to save face
14 Dec 2009, 10:15 am
@ufo:
Hey UFO
It will be another great year for rugby 2010. Another year closer to the ultimate prize. I hope its gonna be NZ prize
14 Dec 2009, 10:18 am
this would be a truly spectacular semi final
france vs new zeland
Boks vs wallabies
perfect opportunity for the blacks to shake off their french RWc hoodoo
14 Dec 2009, 10:18 am
@Hurricane:
It will be awesome for you guys to win it at home…!! Seriusly will. I’ll have no probs with that result at all…
Though, you’ll understand and forgive me for saying I hope the Boks crash your party!!
14 Dec 2009, 10:21 am
@mbaxman93:
Would be nice,bloody France
@ufo:
UFO
UNderstand and expect the Boks to crash the party,as long as the party is the final i will be happy just to make a damn final
14 Dec 2009, 10:21 am
@Hurricane:
BTW… my comment on the other thread is just banter for banter’s sake…
Win or lose, I want the Boks to always play the strongest possible All Black side in every Test…
14 Dec 2009, 10:23 am
@Hurricane:
I’ll be chuffed as all hell if WE make the final…!!
as defending champs would hate to see us bomb like we did in 2003…
14 Dec 2009, 10:23 am
@Hurricane: I’m just messing around with Tackler and his arrogance. NZ may have finished first, but they lost 4 games-3 of which were against the Boks and I doubt that you Kiwis consider it to be a greatly successful year. Not a lot of players came through and NZ are still overly dependent on Richie and Carter.
It will be good for you if you win in 2011 (overdue) and I will be the first to congratulate you-I don’t have an issue if my team doesn’t win, and I’d far rather have NZ winning than Ireland, England or Wales.
14 Dec 2009, 10:31 am
It has been a good year … for the first 10 months. I was just having a moan with colleagues about how disappointing the year end is for us, we couldn’t buy a win on the year end tour, can’t seem to get our 7′s guys going, can’t win a friggin cricket game against the arch enemy .. pomfontein (also known as SA 2nd XI), I am a Liverpool FC supporter … say no more! I want the new year to start ASAP so we can put all this misery behind us or Christmas day to roll around so I can eat drink and be merry!
14 Dec 2009, 10:32 am
@ufo:
lol
All good mate.its good to get a bit of good ole hearty banter out there,it gets a bit of the chest as well, and i am known for it.
@WOLFMAN21:
Totally agree with you Wolf,we need our Carter and McCaw,but in honsety any team that had those 2 in it would be in the same boat. Find for me this year was Cory Jane,even though i have seen him play for Wellington and the sevens its good that he has been in the ABs team,he is the future for fullback,Mils is hanging on to that position by reputation only,just the way i see it.
And it wasnt a good year for us,started of by being outplayed in the 3 games vs the Boks,only was saved by playing good against the Ozzies. Our end of the year tour was a huge success,which took away the pain of being outplayed and gunned in the tri nations
14 Dec 2009, 10:33 am
@Timbo:
lol
It will get better Timbo,but hopefully not at NZs expence
14 Dec 2009, 10:36 am
This from News24
Jean’s Irish stay short-term?
Jóhann Thormählen
Bloemfontein – Springbok centre Jean de Villiers has said that it is too early to speculate about his future following reports in Irish circles that his move to Munster will only be a short-term one.
The Irish Independent this week likened the Boks’ involvement with Munster with that of Australian flank Rocky Elsom, who only played for Irish side Leinster for one season.
De Villiers says that his contract has been drawn up with an option to continue playing after a year.
However, with the World Cup coming up in 2011 and the selectors not keen to pick overseas-based players, the Irish may well be correct.
“I will only make a decision next year,” said De Villiers.
He added that he is enjoying it a lot at the Irish side and is not looking back for a minute.
De Villiers said that it is obviously a dream to play for the Boks again, but that he is only focusing on Munster for now.
He does not want to comment about the World Cup in 2011 and a possible return.
“I have learned not to plan that far ahead. My experiences of World Cups have not been that good,” he said.
In 2003, De Villiers was injured shortly before the tournament, while in 2007 he played in only one game before having to withdraw.
The 28-year-old will therefore be keen to play in a full tournament.
“I’m just concentrating on Munster for now and will see how things look next year,” he said.
While De Villiers was one of the Boks’ best backline players in their recent game against Ireland, the view has been expressed that his impact at Munster has not been big enough.
He only got game time in the 74th minute of Munster’s match against Perpignan in Limerick on Friday night. Munster won the game 24-23.
14 Dec 2009, 10:45 am
@WOLFMAN21: Can’t really see a dependence on two of the world’s best players as a bad thing.
The boks lost Jean, Frans and Pierre spies for the EOYT and couldn’t by a win.
All teams struggle to find replacements for regular test players when they are not available.
The Boks should rather see 2010 as an oppertunity to beat the ABs iith Carter and McCaw playing – as this will be the team playing in the 2011 WC in Nz.
14 Dec 2009, 10:47 am
Oh Dear. Skop sounds like a typical Creationist. Had a moerse lekke laugh just now.
Have you ever noticed how Creationists look really unevolved?
Please Skop don`t tell me you are one.Then i would just have to debunk all the stupid **** that emanates from you.
You know stuff like Noah and his Ark.
14 Dec 2009, 10:48 am
@Hurricane:
I am actually writing both the Blacks and Boks off for 2010.
14 Dec 2009, 10:49 am
@jondood: 1 – Not sure, but very proud of our rugby this year.
We need to step it up after the eoyt. Still wont let that stop me feeling really proud of our players. They done the business in the big games.
14 Dec 2009, 10:50 am
@PissAnt:
And thats a fair call. France can easily see both NZ and the Boks off on their day
14 Dec 2009, 10:51 am
@Hurricane:
OH 2010,sorry i thought 2011
14 Dec 2009, 10:51 am
Nation of Champions?
Wish that was true in all aspects of SA society.
Nevertheless, i am mighty proud to be South African.
14 Dec 2009, 10:53 am
@Dumb Supporter: 32 – We also lost Juan Smith. 4 players in total. Huge loss. ABs struggle just when they lose McCaw and Carter.
Also our 2nd side was not our B side. They have to select on merit everytime. Our 2nd best most of them were left sitting back here at home. Nonsense that.
14 Dec 2009, 10:55 am
@Hurricane:
I actually think the Boks and the Blacks are suffering the same sickness, that of being one-trick ponies.
Amazing to say that of the Blacks but that is the effect Graham Henry in my mind had (has) on them, turned them into one-trick ponies and something Peter de Villiers, after all the promise of 2008 and promise of evolution in our game, fell back to the tricks of 2007 which on the day, can be easily worked out and countered by top teams.
Of course the physical edge and competitive nature of our teams will always make them tough to beat, but it hardly leaves them with an aura around them which makes them invincible – something the Blacks have been for much of the last 20 years.
Teams I see evolving into something special is Ireland, France and Australia.
14 Dec 2009, 10:57 am
@ufo:32 – ufo, If Jean does not get enough game time for Munster he sure will fall behind in form. May never get his position back here if someone steps up. Maybe it is best he comes back home and plays some rugby. Seems we need him more than they do.
14 Dec 2009, 10:59 am
@Timbo: I echo your sentiments all they way, especially being a scouser these days
14 Dec 2009, 11:03 am
@Hurricane: I think you’ll find the #1 spot didn’t exist as the rankings weren’t introduced until 2003, England being the first holders of the #1 spot. Not that it would have been worth anything without winning the World Cup in ’03 (which we promptly did).
14 Dec 2009, 11:05 am
@PissAnt: 40 – Morning PissAnt, I sort of feel the same there. With Ireland and France. Come world cup time they going to be tough to beat.
Australia under Deans have not done as much as I thought they would have by now. Then they do have a young side and next year will tell us more.
Ireland with Gert Smal as their forward coach too. They out played us there. They did however beat us on penalties. (this time, next time it could be tries) They do love to keep the ball in hand and run. My feeling had we had Fransie playing against Ireland we just may have won.
We missed 4 kicks at goal. Not the way I want to win but every kick that you miss costs huge. 2 of those kicks were very difficult for Morne think it would have suited Fransie those kicks. Ag, why is he playing his rugby in France at the age of 22. So crazy to have lost him so young.
14 Dec 2009, 11:07 am
@Puma:
for sure bud…
if he has a “legal” get out clause he should use it…
would love to see him, Fourie and Habana making magic for Province…!
14 Dec 2009, 11:09 am
@Hurricane: 24 – Howzit Hurricane, The problem is Boks and ABs will face each other in the semi if all goes to plan. Huge pity that as one of us will be out before the final. ABs very tough to beat on home soil.
14 Dec 2009, 11:10 am
Big Hit looks like you’re desperate for compliments. Let me help you. England were very good in 2003 and deserved world cup wimners. Feel better now?? Ask Uncle Delek any time you need counselling……..
14 Dec 2009, 11:11 am
@Puma:
surely they seed the one and two sides in opposite halves of the draw…???
14 Dec 2009, 11:12 am
@Delek: just pointing out the error from my friend Hurricane and of course the utter irrelevance of rankings without trophies.
14 Dec 2009, 11:13 am
@ufo: 45 – ufo, He should not good to just sit on the bench. Province would have looked lethal with JF and JdV at center with Habs on the wing too. Awesome.
From what I read he has signed a years contract then someone here said 10months. That still keeps him out for the S14. I would rather he be here playing his rugby than just wasted on the bench there.
14 Dec 2009, 11:16 am
@ufo: 48 – ufo, mate I wish it was. That is how it is done in most other sports.
We will meet ABs in the semi if all goes to plan with them and us. So daft the number one and two sides to meet in a semi and not a final. Crazy man. Really can never understand that. For me that would have been the dream final. ABs against the Boks. Wont happen. Unless we don’t top our pool or ABs don’t top their pool then we win win all our other games then only will we meet in the final.
One of us will be out in the semi for sure.
14 Dec 2009, 11:16 am
Quit whining about JDV, if he spends long enough at Munster there’s a chance they’ll maybe make a man out of him. All part of his rugby development, he’ll return a tougher and less complacent player.
14 Dec 2009, 11:19 am
@Puma:
crazy stuff…
sounds like the old farts ensuring a home union team makes it through…
14 Dec 2009, 11:19 am
@Big Hit: 52 – Someone may step up and take his place in the mean time. He may miss out.
They not developing him in any way by keeping him on the bench. If that is the case send him home we need him more than they do.
14 Dec 2009, 11:22 am
@ufo: 53 – ufo, seems like it. So stupid the way it was worked out. Boks to meet ABs in the semi. Crazy man.
Then ABs have France in their pool if they lose to France and we beat everyone in our pool we will meet France in the Semi and ABs will meet Oz in the other semi. Tough which ever way you look at it. But then we may see a AB/Bok final.
Just think ABs wont fear France in a pool game it is not at the knock out stages, my feeling they will beat them and top their pool. Think we will top ours too. For now it looks like it will be a AB/Bok semi.
14 Dec 2009, 11:23 am
@Big Hit:
the only thing tougher will be the ******-bum calluses from sitting on the bench…
14 Dec 2009, 11:25 am
@Big Hit:
oh shucks… I said a bad word and my post is awaiting moderation… let me try again…
the only thing tougher will be the calluses on his behind… like a certain animal that lives near Cape Point… from sitting on the bench…
14 Dec 2009, 11:44 am
is this out yet?
14 Dec 2009, 11:51 am
@PissAnt: “I actually think the Boks and the Blacks are suffering the same sickness, that of being one-trick ponies.”
?
14 Dec 2009, 11:54 am
@Puma: Whole drawing system is weird. 2 years before the actual tournament! 8) Should be made after all qualifiers are complete at the start of WC year, imho.
14 Dec 2009, 11:57 am
@WOLFMAN21: Jislaaik China can you get your tongue any further up a Kiwi’s @rse?
14 Dec 2009, 12:06 pm
@Nils:
??
14 Dec 2009, 12:11 pm
@PissAnt: I would like to see what makes you think so. Just interested in your opinion.
14 Dec 2009, 12:14 pm
Well the year is nearly over. And I know you have all been waiting for it……………..so here it is…
canes World 15 for 2009.
1. Woodcock (NZ).
2. Bismark du Eye-gouger (SA).
3. Castrogionni (Italy).
4. O’Connell (Ire).
5. Victor (SA).
6. Rocky (Aus).
7. Ritchie (NZ)—-IRB Player of the year.
8. Chabal (FR)——I don’t care, this is my Team and he is IN.
9. Genia (Aus). —-Also best Newcomer among the backs.
10. Danny Boy (NZ).
11. Habanna (SA).
12. Roberts (Wales.
13. B O’D (Ire).
14. Sitivatu (NZ).
15. Cueto (Eng).
14 Dec 2009, 12:16 pm
@Nils: 59 – Hi Nils, How you mate? Hope well.
Agree with you there 100% The draw should never have taken place two years before the cup.
The draw for the football world cup has only just taken place and that tourney is only 7 months away. Rugby has go it wrong there.
14 Dec 2009, 12:17 pm
Best Newcomer among the forwards….Brussoux (Spelling). But does not beat Ritchie to make the “A” Team.
And yes, FdP one of many good halfbacks to miss out.
14 Dec 2009, 12:19 pm
@Nils:
Oh…
It is important to first off mention I do not buy this ‘The Boks play a boring brand of rugby’ – winning is winning, end of story.
The problem with the one-trick pony Boks I have a problem with is not the winning, it is sustaining a winning brand or culture.
In pre-match analysis you do planning of your opposition, in which you identify and try to eliminate threats.
If a team you play against have limited number of threats, it is easy to counter.
Of course it does not necessarily mean you will beat them if they do what they do well, which is what the Boks do, but you won’t also always win, or sustain winning because one, there are teams who are as physical as us, and have as good kickers out of hand and great back 3’s to counter our only method of attack or play and second, injury disruption, player fatigue etc which will see you lose key players to execute plan A and then you are in kak.
A team like France, Ireland and Aus can lose two to three senior guys and still present a massive threat due to the brand of rugby they play, or presenting multiple threats, but take Carter and McCaw out of NZ, and Victor and Fourie for arguments sake out of the Boks, and we have problems.
Under Henry, I do not see the All Blacks getting any better or adding dimensions to their current way of playing. Under him they have become very much a one-trick pony type of team who if they lose a key player, are sorted of in kak.
Earlier years other teams followed the AB’s who continually evolved and changed the landscape of rugby – these days, this is not the case.
14 Dec 2009, 12:20 pm
@Puma: For the second time, Puma. RWC07 draw was made 2 years earlier, too.
14 Dec 2009, 12:28 pm
@PissAnt: Hopefully good potential replacements for those blokes will be found in time. I am rather optimistic that even without DC/RM ABs will be a force to repel invaders come 2011.
Maybe your argument shows also how good those players (Dan, Richie, Victor, Fourie) are if their presence (or absence)definitely shows on team’s performance. Two sided sword – it’s a good thing and bad in the meantime.
14 Dec 2009, 12:33 pm
Sorry……..what was I thinking.
#8…………. Luke, son of Cheeky, the Come-back Kid, The WP Players Choice. The Runt, Jake thinks is fit only fetch beers from his fridge.
Luke IN……..Chabal to the bench.
14 Dec 2009, 12:38 pm
@cane: Cannie your number 8 is wrong and so is 4 and 9. The rest are fine.
8 Spies
9 FdP
4 BAKKIES
14 Dec 2009, 12:39 pm
@Nils: 67 – Nils, I know. They should have learned something from way back then already.
Now ABs and Boks will face each other in the semi. If our games go to plan until that stage of the tourney. Pity.
14 Dec 2009, 12:42 pm
@cane:
nice one
1. Sheridan (woodcock) 2. Bismarck 3. Castro 4. Bakkies (Nallet) 5. Matfield 6. Ferris (Harrindoquay) 7. Richie (Brussow) 8. Picamoles 9. FdP (Philips) 10. Carter (Giteau) 11. Habana 12. Roberts 13. BoD (Kahui) 14. Heymans 15. Kearney
14 Dec 2009, 12:43 pm
@PissAnt: 66 – PissAnt then what do we change?
You saying with ABs it is under Henry that they have not evolved. I agree they should have had Deans. ABs still a good team though.
Boks what is happening there? I would have changed Muir and Gold at this stage. Maybe brought in the Bulls backline coach and would never have got rid of Gert Smal. He should still have been there are our forward coach.
14 Dec 2009, 12:43 pm
@Puma #70:
That would make 6 SA players…….too many.
Bakkies in “MY” World 15………..Well hell freezers over.
8)
14 Dec 2009, 12:44 pm
Actually for new player of the year, there is not much at all to chose between Pocock and Brussow – Pocock was absolutely brillaint for oz on the EOY tour.
14 Dec 2009, 12:53 pm
@cab:
Yes cab…………….I like Sheridan. And a Fine gentleman he is as well. It’s a pity the English Gutter Press hype him up so much.
As for some of your Latin Selections. Well I just haven’t seen enough of them.
14 Dec 2009, 13:02 pm
@cane: Cannie
6 SA too little there…hehe.
Serious though Bakkies would make my team first up always.
14 Dec 2009, 13:04 pm
every time i see rob kearney i’m haunted by how he was gobbling up those kicks from our stupid pure genius fdp! Good player.
14 Dec 2009, 13:10 pm
@cane: Brussow was better than McCaw this year, it isn’t even a contest based on their meetings.
@cane: the English ‘gutter press’ aren’t interested in rugby, their focus is fully on oikball. Unlike NZ where rugby is mainstream and chav types can have a legitimate interest the rugby press and following in England (and indeed the rest of the UK with the exception of Wales) doesn’t have a gutter element.
14 Dec 2009, 13:19 pm
anyway my team of the year based on test match performance…
1. Jenkins (Wal) 2. Du Plessis (SA) 3. Smit (SA) 4. Botha (SA) 5. Matfield 6. Brussow (SA) 7. Ferris (Ire) 8. Parisse (Ita) 9. Du Preez (SA) 10. Jones (Wal) 11. Habana (SA) 12. Roberts (Wal) 13. O’Driscoll (Ire) 14. Sivivatu (Fij) 15. Kearney (Ire)
14 Dec 2009, 13:24 pm
@Big Hit:
6 Souith Africans Biggles…………..keep sucking.
But they will not respect you in the morning.
8)
14 Dec 2009, 13:29 pm
@cane: not sucking, I could’ve included more Juan Smith has a decent shout as did Frans Steyn, they did win a Lions series and romped a Tri Nations title (3-0 against ABs even if their EOYT was a tired effort.
14 Dec 2009, 13:29 pm
@Big Hit:
Jenkins………..that fat fluffy teddy bear.
Hehehehehe
Smit……….Most Sharkies wouldn’t even pick him.
#10 Jones ahead Danny……..now you just being cretinous.
14 Dec 2009, 13:36 pm
@cane: think you might be confusing Jenkins with Jones,I went for mobility over scrummaging in the front row. If I went for scrummaging Robinson (Aus) and Murray (Sco) would probably be my choices.
Carter hardly played this year (injury and suspension), Jones was excellent in the 6N, Lions series and AIs.
14 Dec 2009, 13:36 pm
@Big Hit:
suck Biggles suck,
give them your head,
before you start professing,
You are knocking them dead.
Sitivatu (Fiji)……now this is just lame.
14 Dec 2009, 13:38 pm
Agreed Cane,to compare any fly half to Dan Carter is a joke but to compare Stephen Jones to Dan the man is just insulting a man’s intelligence.. I think the end of year tour showed how much we missed Juan Smith,very under rated player.cant wait for him to get back from injury..
14 Dec 2009, 13:38 pm
hard to put genia in at 9 when he played in a team that got beaten by scotland and won only one game in the tri nataions surely?
but then the team that you selected, cane me old gabber, had more kiwis than saffas and we all know that only you and the irb could possibly find a way to rate the ab’s higher than the boks after going down:
3-0.
bloem
durbs
hamilton (nothing happens there according to my coach, and he has seen the world and beaten the best).
its not really a big deal though, FdP and the other saffas you left out could maybe form a baabaas side to take on your team……
14 Dec 2009, 13:41 pm
@cane: Nice one. I can see your reasons although I’d have a number of bok players like, Brussow, Spies and FDP in there at 7, 8, 9, but this is due to obvious bias! However what I cannot reason with is Sivi (I can’t defend, kick or catch a high ball and my positional play is shocking) Sitivatu, surely JPP outplayed him and I’d pick Shane Williams over him and Cueto, there is no question in my mind that Kearney is the best 15 in the world right now.
14 Dec 2009, 13:42 pm
i miss waka.
he knows how to set a blog on fire.
but those nasty baabaas, they ruined everything
14 Dec 2009, 13:42 pm
@Ratel Brussow (MSIUR): kearney.
what a player.
14 Dec 2009, 13:44 pm
@cane: Oh ya Genia is a shocker selection. Philips is the 2nd best 9 in world rugby and we all know who the best is….
14 Dec 2009, 13:44 pm
The man is amazing under the high ball..
14 Dec 2009, 13:46 pm
@Nils: The only one of those 4 who has a successor is Victor. He’s in the magazine, if you read the article above!
14 Dec 2009, 13:47 pm
@cane: at least I spelt his name correctly unlike some
also, try keep your filthy kiwi brogue and lewd allegations under control thanks.
@Winston: not selecting on reputation but rather on performance and not selecting players who have only played 4 or 5 games otherwise I’d have 3 or 4 English players in it who played well prior to injury, it’s team of the year (operative word being ‘year’)
14 Dec 2009, 13:48 pm
@Big Hit:
Ohhhhh……..I made a mistake Biggles.
You got 7 South Africans in your World Team.(46% of the Team).
But not one single Australian or a Kiwi you will acknowledge. Despite them being the #1 and #3 ranked Teams in the World?
Change your Nik to Deep Throat.
14 Dec 2009, 13:48 pm
@Winston: @Ratel Brussow (MSIUR): Kearney the carney is such a legend cause he grew up catching his younger siblings when they fell off the tight-rope. Cool under pressure.
14 Dec 2009, 13:52 pm
@cane: the number 1 team in the world that went head to head, three times, witht he number two team.
and came second.
its nonsensical cane.
just like richies award.
but since we are all mates, we will admit that sitiveni is an all black like beast is a springbok.
its only fair.
14 Dec 2009, 13:52 pm
@cane: when are you going to forget about the rankings and look at the actual rugby, SA shamed NZ and Aus this year, they were runaway winners of the 3N absolutely dominating the Kiwi and Australians who looked hapless by comparison yet you want me to pick them?
14 Dec 2009, 13:52 pm
@cane: If you can blindly recognise Ritchie (I played like 2 decent games this year) McCaw as IRB player of the year, then you have to recognise SA (3-0) as the team of the year, therefore 46% of the team could easily be SA, but we’ll let you keep your captain in the mix, cause he has played so well for many years, even if this year wasn’t one of them.
14 Dec 2009, 13:53 pm
@Big Hit:
The filthy Brogue was penned by one David Bowie…………one of yours me thinks.
I am not that clever.
14 Dec 2009, 13:53 pm
@cane: Even Sean Fitzpatrick agrees SA has many of the best players in their respective positions at the moment.
14 Dec 2009, 13:55 pm
@Dangerman:
You still got it Dangerman.
8)
14 Dec 2009, 13:56 pm
this threadline is a little jingoistic imo.
every nation has its outstanding citizens.
some more than others.
its a long fall from a high horse and we should try to keep some perspective.
14 Dec 2009, 13:59 pm
@cane: as do you me old mate.
its all over bar the shouting now and our lads can enjoy their well earned rest before once again taking to the field to satisfy us, that most intolerant and demanding group, the fans.
2010 seems so far off.
but it will come, sooner than we think.
14 Dec 2009, 14:02 pm
@Ratel Brussow (MSIUR):
And I agree with Sean. Fact.
“Many”………I put 4 in my Team and was tempted on one other.
14 Dec 2009, 14:05 pm
@rangerman: Nah, lets revel in it. Sure next year is probably going to be worse, but that is what makes this year SO good. How long till we hold all this again?
14 Dec 2009, 14:07 pm
just for you cane, a combined NZ/Aus side to cheer you up, tis the season to be jolly after all (well…as jolly as it gets for the dour men under the long cloud
):
1. Robinson (Aus)
2. ***** (NZ)
3. Alexander (Aus)
4. Thorn (NZ..Aus?)
5. Donnelly (NZ)
6. Elsom (Aus)
7. McCaw (NZ)
8. Reade (NZ)
9. Genia (Aus)
10. Carter (NZ)
11. Hynes (Aus)
12. Nonu (NZ)
13. Ashley-Cooper (Aus)
14. Sivivatu (NZ)
15. Muliaina (NZ)
there we go, 8.5 Kiwis, 6.5 Aussies, call it a Christmas gift, Happy Bledisloes
14 Dec 2009, 14:08 pm
@Ratel Brussow (MSIUR): well i am hoping for another dstv repeat next year, with one slight change.
cc-sharks
s14-sharks
liverpool-every trophy they can possibly win
these are simple requests that i am sending out to the universe early.
14 Dec 2009, 14:08 pm
@cane: You ignored FDP, cause you are blinded by bias against SA. Don’t worry its not unusual with your countrymen, just look at Paddy O’!!! Seriously though, Genia, what were you thinking?
14 Dec 2009, 14:38 pm
“the boks have peaked to early”
it’s amusing to see that the jibes most saffas use to explain new zealand’s now chronic failure at the world cup have mileage with some of the kiwi fans.
The premature use of some of these jibes betrays the extent anguish felt by those who erroneously attempt to paint the boks with the same brush.
sheriff has got it right, us saffas cannot even begin to comprehend the amount of angst that is being felt by new zealanders after thw demolishing the bulls dished out on the chiefs and the whitewash by the springboks this year.
14 Dec 2009, 14:49 pm
@Transformation: the kiwis are just getting a taste of what they have unfortunately dished out to us saffas for so long.
like most saffas, i will only be satisfied if the boks can begin to translate a good season into a run of good seasons.
that consistency seems to elude us sadly.
14 Dec 2009, 15:17 pm

I thought I asked for this cover months ago?? Its BEAUTIFUL!!!! More…we need more!!!
14 Dec 2009, 16:14 pm
@rangerman: we will never be consistent as long as we still resist change & stick to outdated game plans which we call our “traditional strengths”
Even if saru had appointed robbie deans, the senior players would’ve wanted to play to our “traditional strengths”
14 Dec 2009, 16:44 pm
What’s the deal with all the northern hemisphere players grant

14 Dec 2009, 17:09 pm
LOL, that is quite a cover, we dont seem to have a problem with humility.
14 Dec 2009, 17:11 pm
when i clicked on the cover to try examine all the trophies i instead got a picture with Bismarck enitled ‘dog of war’, but the look on his face suggests he’s just stood in some dog ****.
14 Dec 2009, 18:27 pm
@Big Hit: You are such a tosser BH, C Smith walked all over BOD last time they played, and you know it, perhaps you should use your real nic, SJones, and by the way, your a POM, your team is ****, so because the AB’s are No1 you try and run them down, again, and something for all you out there that think we poach PI’s we are a PI you stupid boy, so we can’t poach what is allready there eh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
14 Dec 2009, 18:31 pm
@Transformation: Don’t flatter yourself, or the Boks, when your record is a good as the AB’s has been, and you have the same pulling power, then you may spout off!!!
We prefer consistency, we prefer to try and win ALL our games, not just once every four years!!!!
14 Dec 2009, 18:35 pm
@Big Hit: Dour men, ever been to NZ BH, didin’t think so, your country is DOUR so is your weather, and your bloody useless rugby team, almost as good as your 7′s, what to have lead like you had in the 7′s and then blew, it !! You poms got no bottle!!!!
14 Dec 2009, 18:37 pm
@CHAZ: Haha.
Keep telling yourself that.
14 Dec 2009, 18:37 pm
@Ratel Brussow (MSIUR): SF is a tosspot, anybody who holds hands with another No2 on an advert is way off the mark!!!!!!
14 Dec 2009, 18:38 pm
@Karoolander: Not me zoolander most of NZ
14 Dec 2009, 18:43 pm
@Transformation: @110 lol, perhaps, but it sure felt good peaking early in 2003 and putting 50 points past you guys, then adding another 30 odd in the world cup that somehow that boring 10 man style NH side won… *wink*
14 Dec 2009, 18:43 pm
@CHAZ: come on CHAZ don’t get you panties in a knot… NZ$50 million after the fact and 1000 page document from your coach and you’re still in denial…
14 Dec 2009, 19:14 pm
@CHAZ: you are a funny guy chaz, a real hit and run artist.
i can only think your inability to post in normal hours (for a kiwi) means that you are a barman at an all night strip joint.
am i right?
14 Dec 2009, 19:34 pm
@Wezwp: fair is fair….thats my team…..see my tighthead…..ABS…
anyone but smit
14 Dec 2009, 19:34 pm
@grant10:
You been on the Stroh rum Grant, that world 15 would be lucky to beat the Bokke 3rds or the Sarries 2nds.
14 Dec 2009, 19:38 pm
@NZINCHINA: name a better 15 then?
By the way my 3 would be that Italian….Casrtrioganni….
14 Dec 2009, 19:40 pm
@NZINCHINA: okay….i see…only 1 kiwi got you annoyed…..and i almost took Jonny Wilkinson as well…
14 Dec 2009, 19:43 pm
@grant10: Agree on 15 and 3. I think McCaw and Juan would be better at 7 though. Understand your reasoning that selecting both Brussouw and Richie would not be completely balanced. That is why I would go for Juan, even though he was injured for some time.
14 Dec 2009, 19:44 pm
@grant10: Who is ABS?
14 Dec 2009, 19:48 pm
@grant10:
Exactly my point, I’d pick the leicester 3rds they beat the world champs didn’t they?
14 Dec 2009, 19:49 pm
@Johan Fourie: anyone but Smit
14 Dec 2009, 19:51 pm
@NZINCHINA: LOL
Ja….bloody hell you turning the knife there!!
14 Dec 2009, 19:51 pm
@NZINCHINA: And it only took 2 Bok players to score the same number of points that 15 AB’s in the Baabaa game.
14 Dec 2009, 19:52 pm
@Johan Fourie: imagine brussow and mc caw in tandem…..heavens they would be a dream team on the deck…
14 Dec 2009, 19:53 pm
@Johan Fourie: LOL
Touche
14 Dec 2009, 19:56 pm
@grant10: True, but I wouldn’t go that route. I prefer the traditional way of open/blind play. One on the bench will do, maybe have both on for 5 minutes if you trail and need a try to win.
14 Dec 2009, 19:56 pm
@grant10: roflmao, I’m gonna go to his book signings
14 Dec 2009, 19:56 pm
@Johan Fourie:
Mr Fourie we got beaten by the Baba’s fair and square you won’t hear me using the following, quota’s, jet lag, long season, won the important ones, PDV picking the wrong players, it wasn’t a Bokke team they were just wearing Bokke jumpers, if it was a true Bokke 2nd side we would have put 50 on them, injuries, wet track etc etc
14 Dec 2009, 19:57 pm
Best of 2001 –
2009
1. os 2. Smit 3. cobus visagie 4. Victor 5. botha 6. Schalk 7. Juan 8. Gary Teichman 9. Fdp 10. Honibal 11. Habana 12. Stey
13.
14 Dec 2009, 19:59 pm
@NZINCHINA: Fair enough!
14 Dec 2009, 19:59 pm
13. Jf 14 Willemse 15. monty
14 Dec 2009, 20:01 pm
@Wezwp: agree so far, continue!
12) de Villiers
13) Fourie
14) Paulse
15) Jouba
14 Dec 2009, 20:01 pm
@Wezwp: OK, slightly disagree!
14 Dec 2009, 20:01 pm
@Wezwp:
Good team but lets see what that team achieved 01 – 09;
2001 – nothing
2002 – nothing
2003 – nothing
2004 – 3N
2005 – nothing
2006 – nothing
2007 – w/c
2008 – nothing
2009 – plenty
14 Dec 2009, 20:04 pm
…….and Jean de villiers on the bench.
14 Dec 2009, 20:08 pm
A
pretty
solid team wouldn’t you say ??
14 Dec 2009, 20:12 pm
My bench would look like this: jean, bismarck, Neil de kock, Skinstad , Bj, Pieterson.
14 Dec 2009, 20:13 pm
@Wezwp:
Neil De Kock on the bench your having a laugh aren’t you?
14 Dec 2009, 20:15 pm
@Wezwp: Neil de Kock….NO! Joost.
14 Dec 2009, 20:16 pm
What about the man in the mirror he was at his best when full of charles, or did he retire before 01?
14 Dec 2009, 20:18 pm
@NZINCHINA: Spot on, he should be on the bench.
14 Dec 2009, 20:19 pm
My coach:
Mallet assisant: Solomons/Gert Smal
14 Dec 2009, 20:22 pm
@SpringbokSarah: tell him i said he is a cancer at 3…
14 Dec 2009, 20:23 pm
@Johan Fourie:
Great player.
14 Dec 2009, 20:24 pm
I’^m pro PdV but he’s still a young gun.
14 Dec 2009, 20:24 pm
@NZINCHINA: What would your AB team for that time look like?
I suppose it would include:
Cullen
Lomu
Umanga
Marshall
Brown
Loe
McCaw
Jones
Brooke
Brooke…
to name a few?
14 Dec 2009, 20:25 pm
@Wezwp:
Call me stupid but is this an 01-09 team?
14 Dec 2009, 20:26 pm
@grant10: what? then I go to jail? I’m not gonna insult him… directly
14 Dec 2009, 20:26 pm
@NZINCHINA: Yip, but still think FdP is better. Against the Baabaas I would play Joost, but other than that Fourie. Joost in the last 20!
14 Dec 2009, 20:29 pm
@SpringbokSarah: tell him its hooker or retirement!!
14 Dec 2009, 20:30 pm
my
aussie team 1. Matt Dunning
2. Adam frierer 3. ? 4
. Eales, Smit, Gregan , Larkham , Burke, Gitau
etc
14 Dec 2009, 20:30 pm
@SpringbokSarah: dont tell him i live in Clifton~!!!!
14 Dec 2009, 20:30 pm
@grant10: Hooker it is!
14 Dec 2009, 20:30 pm
@Johan Fourie:
Wouldn’t the world love to see another Zinny the best number 8 the world has seen, the guy could do everything including dropping goals at Loftus 45 metres out, no NZ num 8 since has got near him, I know Teichman and Spies are highly rated but they aren’t in the same league.
14 Dec 2009, 20:32 pm
@NZINCHINA: He was a fantastic player! Would pick him for my World team any day!
14 Dec 2009, 20:32 pm
@Johan Fourie: @61 you forgot Fitzy, and though he retired in 97, my fav centre of all time , Bunce… and youd have to have the player who redefined the “fetcher” role.. Michale Jones ( I was assuming your Jones was Ian
)
14 Dec 2009, 20:33 pm
@poppa69: @161 sorry
14 Dec 2009, 20:33 pm
@grant10: what?! I don’t even want him to play in the XV!
@grant10: roflmao
14 Dec 2009, 20:37 pm
@poppa69: Ian yes. Fitzy definitly, only reason was that he retired before then. Michael Jones is a Legend. Jones, McCaw and Brooke would have been awsome! Olo Brown, Fitzy, and Richard Loe as the frontrow, Robin Brooke and Ian Jones second row.
14 Dec 2009, 20:39 pm
@NZINCHINA: Zinzan was my favourite AB player of all time.
Remember that drop goal against us in 1996 when ABs won their first series win here? Was awesome. A Number 8 too!! LOL. Crazy man, he was awesome.
14 Dec 2009, 20:41 pm
15. Cullen
14. Howlett
13. Umanga
12. Bunce
11. Lomu
10. Carter
9. Marshall
8. Z.Brooke
7. R.McCaww
6. I.Jones
5. R.Brooke
4. I.Jones
3. Loe
2. Fitzparick
1. Brown
14 Dec 2009, 20:42 pm
Sorry, 6 should be M.Jones
14 Dec 2009, 20:43 pm
@Johan Fourie: would be a fearsome backrow to contend with, though who would you have as blindside, Mccaw or Jones? I forget what year Fitzy retired, though I have the mental picture of him standing triumphant, arms aloft after we finally scaled our everest and beat SA in SA in 96… fate rewarded us, as it did SA in 95
14 Dec 2009, 20:44 pm
@grant10: Awesome, McCaw 7 and Brussow at 7. The otherside will never see the ball…….
14 Dec 2009, 20:45 pm
sorry meant Brussow at 6.
14 Dec 2009, 20:46 pm
@poppa69: It was a well deserved series win in 96. The Boks wheels came of after Pienaar got injured. Suddeenly our defence fell to pieces. But no excuses, NZ deserved that win!
14 Dec 2009, 20:46 pm
@poppa69: Howzit Poppa, Think I would go for McCaw at blindside.
Think Fitzy stopped playing in 97. How old was he then? Think 34 around there. Not too sure.
14 Dec 2009, 20:48 pm
@poppa69: Tough to say, that’s why it is always difficult to pick players from different eras. Not ideal to have 2 similar players in your loose trio, but how can you leave one of those 2 out?
14 Dec 2009, 20:48 pm
bob skinstad prior to knee injury better than Zinny
14 Dec 2009, 20:50 pm
@Puma: Every time I see Fitzy on TV i look at his ears! LOL! Funny now, but back then it was serious s$%@! Great player and captain!
14 Dec 2009, 20:50 pm
bob skinstad the most talented player i have ever seen….ever,,,
Since 1976….
14 Dec 2009, 20:51 pm
danie gerber best back i ever saw…
14 Dec 2009, 20:51 pm
@grant10: Skinstad was brilliant, but Zinzan was consistently brilliant for many years!
14 Dec 2009, 20:51 pm
@Johan Fourie: it was a long time coming
I find Pienaar and Smit are similar in respect of leadership, both command it and led from the front…
@Puma: Hey Puma, but SA 6 is openside, so Im still confused haha
14 Dec 2009, 20:52 pm
frans steyn has the potential to be a GREAT
Sadly we allowed such a talent to get away….makes me sad.
14 Dec 2009, 20:52 pm
@grant10: Awsome player. Pity he played in the wrong era! Same with guys like CdP, MdP, Naas…
14 Dec 2009, 20:53 pm
how many players in a WC squad….30 or 35?
14 Dec 2009, 20:53 pm
@grant10: He’ll be back a better, stronger, more mature and skillful player. Dont worry!
14 Dec 2009, 20:54 pm
@Johan Fourie: danie was unreal….Naas Botha as well….
But Bob was simply incredible…..such a pity about the knee.
14 Dec 2009, 20:55 pm
@Johan Fourie: yes….i hope so….preferably in time to assist us retain Bil;l in 2011…
14 Dec 2009, 20:56 pm
@poppa69: Very true! You get the same feeling about Richie.
14 Dec 2009, 20:57 pm
just hope BJ and CJ manage to extricate themselves from Ireland soon….seems CJ was back to his best the weekend….i reckon the stormers will get him
14 Dec 2009, 20:57 pm
@grant10: Bob was a freak before his injury.
@grant10: He MUST be! We need him!
14 Dec 2009, 20:58 pm
@poppa69: 189 – Poppa yes, 6 here is openside and 7 is blindside. That is why I always just use numbers mostly here for our kiwi friends
For me McCaw at 7 always.
14 Dec 2009, 20:58 pm
@grant10: Lets hope! But….I hope the Bulls get one of them! Or both….!
14 Dec 2009, 20:59 pm
have a good evening …..i will look into the crystal ball and announce a 35 man Bok squad to retain Bill in 2011 tomorrow….
14 Dec 2009, 21:00 pm
@Johan Fourie: bj to durbs…..cj to CT…
You got Bees Roux!
14 Dec 2009, 21:01 pm
@grant10: We’ll compare tomorrow!
14 Dec 2009, 21:02 pm
@grant10: FFS! Bees is ok though, or we should get WP Nel! That guy can play many tests for the Boks!
14 Dec 2009, 21:02 pm
@grant10: 100% agree. How we let such a huge talent go is so daft. Could be our greatest FB or inside centre. Plays both well.
Remember how well he just took to inside centre in the world cup? Like a duck takes to water. He was superb and only just turned 20. How we lost this brilliant youngster to a club in France at 22 is a dreadful shame for SA rugby.
Will always remember those monster kicks against the ABs this year too and those drops against Oz at Newlands that won us the game. Actually without those kicks in both game we would have lost.
Fransie come home. Is there any sponsor to sponsor him like some sponsor is doing for Victor? We need him here not in France.
14 Dec 2009, 21:04 pm
@Johan Fourie: 185 – Fitzy was one of ABs best captains and a great player. Tough as they come.
14 Dec 2009, 21:06 pm
@Johan Fourie: 188 – Skinstadt before the accident he was superb. But Zinzan was the best ever at 8. Brilliant would have had him in my team always back then.
14 Dec 2009, 21:06 pm
@Puma: It is sad Puma, but I honestly think it might be a good thing for him. He will return a better player. I just hope he settles into a position, and he gets selected in that same position when he returns. I think it is 15. Perhaps Ruan should do the same?
14 Dec 2009, 21:07 pm
@grant10:
184, yessus man if u keep speaking **** like that we going to have to paint two eyes on your arse cheeks and teach your poephol to lipsink.
i can only assume you are playing the winde-up man of late…
14 Dec 2009, 21:07 pm
@Puma: Agree! Zinzan was the best!
14 Dec 2009, 21:07 pm
@Johan Fourie: agree with you on Frans, has all the attributes, just a question of learning and maturing into a settled role… too much focus adding pressure to him in SA, would love him to spend a couple of years in NZ, think he would be brought on better (no disrespect meant)
Cheers Puma, Johan and Grant10, finishing work…
14 Dec 2009, 21:08 pm
@Puma: Skinstad was in no accident.
It was a cover up due to the fact that the Kiwis moered him in CT.
14 Dec 2009, 21:08 pm
@Puma: Even without half an ear, he was brilliant!
14 Dec 2009, 21:09 pm
bob skinstad better than zinzan brooke, you are well and truly out of your tree.
14 Dec 2009, 21:11 pm
@poppa69: No, agree 100%. Sometimes it is better for certain players to step out of the spotlight. Look at what happened to Monty! If I was 20 and a great talent, I would go play somewhere else for a couple of years. Not for the money, but to concentrate and improve on my game!
14 Dec 2009, 21:12 pm
@Karoolander: K@K MAN!
14 Dec 2009, 21:14 pm
@Johan Fourie: Uhm no boeta.
Justin Marshall and one of the locks beat Bob up in a Club down in CT.
14 Dec 2009, 21:14 pm
@Johan Fourie: 213 –
14 Dec 2009, 21:16 pm
@Karoolander: 212 – I heard that even at the time. Never really sure about it.
It could have happened but then he was daft getting into a brawl. He was playing his best rugby at the time.
14 Dec 2009, 21:17 pm
@Karoolander: Is that a fact? If so, why 2 on 1? Was Marshall holding his knee and the lock jumping on it?
14 Dec 2009, 21:18 pm
@poppa69: 211 – Cheers Poppa, Fransie would do every well in NZ and I think you okes would love to have him there too.
As a Shark supporter I would love to see him back at the Sharks. Don’t think that will happen though.
Nice catching up with you again Poppa.
14 Dec 2009, 21:19 pm
@Puma:
one never knows with these things, may or may not be true, if it is i think skinstand has been pretty good about keeping marshalls name out of it, probably had too many drinks and two young bucks at the time, who won that day?
must say marshall seems a bit of a ********.
14 Dec 2009, 21:19 pm
@Puma: Did you read my post @208?
14 Dec 2009, 21:19 pm
@Puma: Its true.
The Kiwis was harassing a women ( no big surprise there ) and Bob tried to defend her honour.
It was during the S12.
14 Dec 2009, 21:21 pm
@cab: I think Marshall might have been jealous of Skinstads good looks! Maybe Bobby chatted to a girl he was eyeing?
14 Dec 2009, 21:21 pm
@Johan Fourie: 208 – Johan, I hope he comes back a better player. Not many do when they come back.
What a huge loss to lose Fransie at the age of 22. Would have been our greates FB or inside centre. Just needed time to play in one postion for a few years instead they messed him about far too much. Hope he is back for the WC 2011.
14 Dec 2009, 21:23 pm
@Johan Fourie:
oh right, i thought marshall also fancied himself, perhaps it was some sort of catwalk spat?
14 Dec 2009, 21:24 pm
@Puma: Sounds good so far. I heard he lost some weight. He will be back for 2011.
14 Dec 2009, 21:25 pm
@Puma: I rek FB instead of 12. The fkd him around with positions like poor old Ruan and poor old Hougard. No wonder Hougard did badly at 9 when touring.
14 Dec 2009, 21:25 pm
@Karoolander: 224 – Well then that is a shame as that ended his career really. After that he was never ever the same player.
Then Mallett too should never have taken him to the 99 world cup. He was still injured and think that injury turned into a really chronic injury that bothered him always after. Somehow think if he never went to the 99 world cup he would have recovered from that op he had on that knee. That is why I always say never ever play with even a niggle of a injury it has to be 100%. Otherwise it never ever heals proper ever. Becomes chronic.
14 Dec 2009, 21:25 pm
@cab: LOL! Or a measurement of some sort, and one felt embarresed!
14 Dec 2009, 21:26 pm
@byoboy: Agree!
14 Dec 2009, 21:28 pm
@Puma: Very true! The biggest mistake of Mallet’s career! If Teichman played, and was captain, we would have had a much better chance of winning it!
14 Dec 2009, 21:28 pm
@Johan Fourie: 228 – @byoboy: 229 – Well hope he comes back and plays for the Boks for 2011. FB is fine for me. I thought he would have made that position his own had he stayed here.
Will always remember those monster kicks he done against the ABs in the Tri-Nations this year. Awesome. He is just a fearless player too. Also takes about 3 bring him down. So that take players out of position too.
14 Dec 2009, 21:28 pm
i thought he had a car accident just outside cape town, one of them released a book recently, cant remember if there was bad blood or not. skinstad was helluva talented, but Zinzan was a legend, could do everything.
14 Dec 2009, 21:29 pm
@Puma: I was furious when Skinstad was included in `99. Really daft move.
But Hey, Poefies Stinkgat got his RWC medal in `07
I was never a fan of his, but he was good when he first burst on the scene.
14 Dec 2009, 21:32 pm
@cab: The car accident was just a cover up. Why do you think there was not one photo of the wreck?
WP is good at cover ups.
Did you know what happened to Bolla Conradie once?
14 Dec 2009, 21:32 pm
@cab: 235 – Cabbie, Zinzan was the best 8 ever. I would have had him in my team everytime.
14 Dec 2009, 21:32 pm
@Johan Fourie: also re Hougaard poor bugger that boy has got talent they need to keep him in one position.
14 Dec 2009, 21:34 pm
@Puma: I can remember the first time I saw him play. It was a Currie Cup game, might have been Voda Cup, but he came on as a replacement 10 for the Sharks. I watched the game with my Dad. That day I said this guy will be a Springbok legend. Maybe he is not a legend yet, but he will be!
14 Dec 2009, 21:34 pm
grant10 witnessed the skinstad/marshall incident.
it did happen.
the car crash was a cover up.
14 Dec 2009, 21:35 pm
@Johan Fourie: 233 – Johan that was the biggest mistake by Mallett for sure. You can never just drop your captain a few months before the world cup. Teich was playing better than Skinstadt at the time too. Skinstadt had had that op and was not 100% fit, was still getting over the op and to take him to the world cup in that condition was stupid. Then to have another captain was crazy too.
We now may have 3 world cups if that never happened. We also should have played Honiball against the Aussies in the semi and not JdB even though those 5 drops against England was brilliant. Oz was onto us with Jannie at FH. Should have started with Honiball in that game.
14 Dec 2009, 21:37 pm
@Puma: ja those three massive kicks were sheer brilliance the old boys need to persuade him to come back for 2011. For 12 we got JdF (hopefully back) and WO. The one position which we need good back up is 10!!
14 Dec 2009, 21:38 pm
@byoboy: Yes. We are wasting guys like Pienaar, Steyn, Hougaard, Russel etc. That is why these guys should go play somewhere else, settle in a position, and then come back. France is the perfect place for F.Steyn to develop. For Pienaar and Hougaard too. There they can focus on their game, away from all the media and fans. Plus, because of the language barrier, they wont go jol all the time.
14 Dec 2009, 21:38 pm
was watching the craven week in newcastle with a weepee mate of mine.
louis koen was @ 10 for weepee and had a big kick for a schoolkid.
my weepee mate kept saying that the kid would become a bok.
he was right of course but didn’t say a word when this rangey fast 8th man ran through half the weepee team to score.
he also became a bok – but only because he went to maties.
skinstad was outstanding, even in those days.
14 Dec 2009, 21:39 pm
@Karoolander:
nope, what happened to bolla?
14 Dec 2009, 21:42 pm
@Puma: Couldn’t agree more. Australia worked out a gameplan to prevent de Beer to repeat what he did against England. We playede some of our best rugby in 97 with Teichman and Honiball! Remember that test in Durban when NZ led the Boks 23-5 with 15 to go? We won 24/23.
14 Dec 2009, 21:43 pm
@Johan Fourie: ja they mustn’t fk them around. Even with language barriers dono if that will stop Frans from joling, some of those French babes are pretty fkn decent.
14 Dec 2009, 21:43 pm
he actually played totally different rugby when he made his comeback, he really got stuck in, but his pace had desserted him by then…not exactly an andre venter, but then that was not his forte.
14 Dec 2009, 21:43 pm
@cab: Bolla was behaving badly at some spot in George.
He was beaten up and couldn`t play as a result. They said he and a team mate had a scuffle.
14 Dec 2009, 21:44 pm
@byoboy: Yeah, you may be right. In Durban he also experienced a language barrier!
14 Dec 2009, 21:45 pm
@Johan Fourie: 247 – Yes, I remember that test very well. What a comeback for the Boks. Brilliant.
Then I was up in Joburg and watched the game the next week when we beat the Aussies to win the Tri-Nations.
That too was a great Bok side. This side 2009 edges them though, but they too were great.
14 Dec 2009, 21:46 pm
@Karoolander: Let me guess… Bolla got scuffled! LOL!
14 Dec 2009, 21:47 pm
@Puma: The highlite of that test against Aus was Skinstad’s try!
14 Dec 2009, 21:47 pm
skinstad didn’t deserve to go to the world cup in ’07, jake white did him a favour, he was nowhere near the best loosies in the country at the time.
14 Dec 2009, 21:47 pm
@Karoolander:
lol, lets face it, virtually every scrumhalf and most rugby players involved in that, the tours of old were carnage off the pitch.
14 Dec 2009, 21:49 pm
@Puma: Do you think so Puma? I think it is very close! We had a great team in 97. Guys like Jouba, Honiball, Joost, Dalton, Venter, Erasmus, Skinstad, Otto, Andrews, Teichman… Good team!
14 Dec 2009, 21:49 pm
@Johan Fourie: These things happen when alcohol is involved.
Paulse is also not the gentleman everybody says he is. Ok maybe he just had a slip up. We all do.
I will not say what happened there, although i know for a fact.
14 Dec 2009, 21:50 pm
@byoboy: 243 – Ruan should back up FH. Should be playing there all the time for the Sharks. Just don’t think he wants to play FH wants to play scrummie.
Fransie should be our first choice FB always even if he is playing in France.
@Johan Fourie: 244 – Not so sure if they wont jol in France. Some nice places to go out there. Good wine and some really good looking woman. Fransie has his hands full……hehehe. Though it looks like he is taking his rugby serious losing 7kg.
14 Dec 2009, 21:51 pm
@Karoolander:
Did you personally witness all these incidents (Skinstad, Conradie and Paulse)or is it only hearsay?
14 Dec 2009, 21:54 pm
@Johan Fourie: 257 – It is very close only this team won so much this year. Lions series is huge to win. Most those guys you mention played in the last Lions series and lost it. So there is where I give this team a tick above them. Also most of this team played in a world cup and won it and most of that team played in the 99 world cup and went out to Oz. So it has to be the class of 2009
14 Dec 2009, 21:54 pm
@Karoolander: Hard to believe that Paulse would get involved in things. But as you say, we all slip up some times. Loved Paulse, one of our best ever!
14 Dec 2009, 21:55 pm
i think todd blackadder played in SA for a while, i remember going down to a nightclub in PE and this silly bugger was standing on the bar pissed as a coot…big guy blackadder, i couldn’t find baldrick tho.
14 Dec 2009, 21:56 pm
@Puma: Maybe so. But remember, we should have beaten the Lions, and we could have won the WC. But you are right, we didn’t and this team did. So, fair enough!
14 Dec 2009, 21:57 pm
@Johan Fourie: Paulse did nothing serious. Lets just call it bad manners.
14 Dec 2009, 21:59 pm
I have met Breytie on a number of occasions. The man is an absolute gentleman, softspoken and humble.
14 Dec 2009, 21:59 pm
@Puma: Who played with Muller at center in 97? Was it Snyman?
14 Dec 2009, 22:01 pm
@Puma: I agree Fransie should be first choice FB , he’s proven himself there and is way better than the alternatives, lets hope quota fkn **** doesn’t play any part in who plays there.
Like you say, Ruan seemed to have his sites on 9 always and was almost forced to play 10 by PdV. now his confidence has taken a knock. I think it took a knock in that 2nd BIL game.
With the Frenchie at 10 for the Sharks will Plum play Ruan at 10? Even though the Frenchie has done well at 10 one has to question whether it was the right choice for Plum to have imported like that.
14 Dec 2009, 22:01 pm
@Johan Fourie: 254 – So it was. I was sitting in Box at Ellis Park with a great view. He was superb that night. Came on as a sub.
14 Dec 2009, 22:01 pm
@WP Till I Die: Now THAT I can believe! Had all the respect in the world for him! Him and Habana as our wings, we will never be short of tries!
14 Dec 2009, 22:02 pm
@Robzim: These things happened.
I am not accusing these people.
A girl friend of mine dated a Springbok player a few years back and i have connections in George involved in rugby.
No i did not witnessed all of the incidents.
14 Dec 2009, 22:02 pm
@WP Till I Die:
i think he and kobus w have a bit of a wit and repartee in afr whenever they commentating together. kobus looks like he swallowed breytie. i remember him running right over the top of a ruck like it was a stairmaster. eina.
14 Dec 2009, 22:02 pm
@byoboy: Argentine, not Frenchie. Hernandez
14 Dec 2009, 22:03 pm
cheers people
14 Dec 2009, 22:03 pm
@Johan Fourie: Flip, The name is on my tongue. Peter that was his name what was his surname? Will remember in a minute. Just remember his defence was like a brick wall.
14 Dec 2009, 22:03 pm
@Johan Fourie: shite ja i’m thinking of the guy before Argie
14 Dec 2009, 22:04 pm
@Puma: He was a SUPER SUB in 97!
14 Dec 2009, 22:04 pm
@byoboy: You are correct byoboy. Agree there.
Cheers mate.
14 Dec 2009, 22:04 pm
@WP Till I Die: And Tiger Woods is the pin up boy for the new Generation of Golf players.
14 Dec 2009, 22:05 pm
@Puma: I know Pieter Muller was 12, but I cant remember 13. Wasn’t it Andre Snyman?
14 Dec 2009, 22:05 pm
@Puma: mean Argentien not French
14 Dec 2009, 22:05 pm
@byoboy: Freddie last year and Hernandez this year. One is a Argie but he also plays most of his rugby in France.
14 Dec 2009, 22:06 pm
@byoboy: Cheers!
14 Dec 2009, 22:06 pm
@byoboy: 281 – Hernandez.
14 Dec 2009, 22:06 pm
Johan Fourie, the first Lions test we had Lubbe and Mulder, then Snyman and Montgomery for the second and third Lions tests. I was a schoolboy then.
14 Dec 2009, 22:07 pm
ok outta here cheers people
14 Dec 2009, 22:07 pm
@Puma: ja – cheers
14 Dec 2009, 22:07 pm
@Puma: No team attacked us with confidence in the 10/12 channel. Honiball and Muller was rock solid, monsterious tacklers!
14 Dec 2009, 22:07 pm
@Johan Fourie: 280 – There you go. Knew his name was Pieter (Peter) not sure of the spelling just could not think of the surname. Superb in defence.
Yes, Skinstadt was a super sub at the time. Something that was new then. It worked and most teams stared doing it.
14 Dec 2009, 22:09 pm
We had Breyton Paulse and John Fredericks (from BVP) in our box at Newlands once. Very enjoyable evening.
14 Dec 2009, 22:09 pm
@byoboy: Cheers mate.
@Johan Fourie: Honiball and Muller together no-one came easy through our channel there. You just felt safe with those two especially with Honiball.
14 Dec 2009, 22:09 pm
@WP Till I Die: Correct, but in the Tri-Nations Muller played 12. Was Snyman his partner?
14 Dec 2009, 22:10 pm
yeah honiball and muller were rocksolid, and helgard was just mad.
14 Dec 2009, 22:10 pm
@WP Till I Die: Yes remember that. We just talking about the Tri-Nations of that year we won it with Mallett.
14 Dec 2009, 22:12 pm
@cab: So they were Cab. Was Muller and Helgard brothers? If I remember correct.
14 Dec 2009, 22:13 pm
@WP Till I Die: Relax about old Breytie. He is one of the better guys, but not perfect.
14 Dec 2009, 22:13 pm
I had the honour of having dinner with the 97 Bok team just before the Lions series. I sat at the table with Joost, Andre Snyman, Danie van Schalkwyk, and Percy. Got the whole team’s autugraphs, including Carel du Plessis. Adrian Garvey signed on the collar of my Bok jersey.
14 Dec 2009, 22:13 pm
@Johan Fourie: 280 – Think it was Snyman at outside centre.
14 Dec 2009, 22:14 pm
@Puma: Yes, they are brothers.
14 Dec 2009, 22:14 pm
@Johan Fourie: 297 – Johan that must have been a awesome evening.
14 Dec 2009, 22:15 pm
@Johan Fourie: 299 – Ja, Sort of remembered that. Both come from Free State.
14 Dec 2009, 22:15 pm
@cab: Helgard and Brendan Venter played well together for the Cheetahs.
14 Dec 2009, 22:15 pm
At a function I attended Mallett regretted the omission of GT only for the lack of leadership that it created (hindsight). Mallett said he never regretted picking BS cos he was one of the best SA players at the WC, certainly the best creative forward that SA has seen. In fact he said he should have had BS at 7 to accomodate GT. Much like PDV is doing now with JS?
14 Dec 2009, 22:16 pm
@Shakes: But if he had BS at 7, what about our best 7 at that time, Andre Venter?
14 Dec 2009, 22:17 pm
@Shakes: 303 – Should never have dropped his captain. That was Malletts downfall in that world cup. We could have won it. Skinstadt though was still carrying that injury. He was not 100% over that op. Don’t remember him playing that well in that wc.
14 Dec 2009, 22:17 pm
NZ won 97 TN. Our centre combo was Pieter Muller and Andre Snyman. Some real legends played then – Frank Bunce, Christian Cullen, Jeff Wilson, Stephen Larkham, Ben Tune. Some real running rugby then – I remember the Eden Park test, NZ beat us 55-35, something like seven or eight tries scored in total.
14 Dec 2009, 22:18 pm
@Puma:
cant remember if they were brothers or cousins, helgard seemed the lippy thinner one, pieter was just crunch. he played league as well i think.
14 Dec 2009, 22:18 pm
@WP Till I Die: SA won the 97 Tri-Nations isnt it?
14 Dec 2009, 22:19 pm
@Johan Fourie: Or was it 98?
14 Dec 2009, 22:19 pm
@Johan Fourie:
yes, right.
14 Dec 2009, 22:19 pm
@WP Till I Die: WPTID, Wow now your reminding us of some great rugby players in that AB side. They were all awesome. Jeff Wilson, chistian Cullen Frank Bunce. Superb. Larkham for Oz one of their best ever.
14 Dec 2009, 22:19 pm
Bobby Skinstad on form was a sublime No 8, some of the silkiest hands in the business. A showpony, yes, but he tended to back it up.
14 Dec 2009, 22:20 pm
@cab: Helgard had the stutter problem. He was also the captain.
14 Dec 2009, 22:20 pm
Well done boks great year. Look forward to next year see if you guys can make it two in row for the first time
14 Dec 2009, 22:22 pm
@Puma:
i thought the bigger problem in 99 was the axing of de beer for honiball, esp with mallet’s more open sort of style. reckon we would have won that one too.
14 Dec 2009, 22:22 pm
@Johan Fourie: Not sure now know it was the same year we were trying for 18 in a row to get the record. England stopped us at 17 in a row. Think it was 98.
14 Dec 2009, 22:22 pm
sorry honbiball for de beer – honiball was fantastic.
14 Dec 2009, 22:23 pm
@WP Till I Die: He had great hands. Will always remember that pass to Joe van Niekerk against Australia. Joe ran 40 meters to score.
14 Dec 2009, 22:23 pm
Johan Fourie, yes, we won 98. In 97 NZ were unbeaten, as I recall. Speaking of legends, Henry Honniball is one of the nicest I’ve met. Quiet, humble banana farmer from Bergville – but on the rugby field he was Lem, the bane of opposition flyhalves and centres. Guys physically feared that lanky Natalian – and he always kept it clean!
14 Dec 2009, 22:25 pm
@Puma: Yes, it was 98. Carel coached the team in 97, lost the Tri-Nations, but won the last test against Australia by 61-22. In 98 we won the Tri-Nations under Mallet, and lost against England on 17.
14 Dec 2009, 22:26 pm
yeah Honiball was an incredibly nice guy by all accounts. almost painfully shy< but incredibly tough
14 Dec 2009, 22:26 pm
@cab: Cabbie, Thought we should have won that one. De Beer did play in the quarter and semi of that world cup though. I thought that De Beer should have been dropped for the semi against Oz. Oz had worked us out after seeing those 5 drops against England. Honiball should have played in the semi. Saying that, do remember we had to equalize in the end to go to extra time and De Beer got a almighty kick to go over right on the 80th min.
14 Dec 2009, 22:27 pm
Puma, I think it was 99 we got stopped at 17, but will have to check. Mallett is one of the most underrated Bok coaches in history, I hope he gets involved again in some way in Bok rugby – he has my vote for DOR.
14 Dec 2009, 22:27 pm
@WP Till I Die: Yes. 98 it was! The same year the Bulls won the Currie Cup with Joost as captain. Honiball was a great player. The best defensive 10 ever!
14 Dec 2009, 22:28 pm
@cab: Puma I agree and Mallett should have had the balls to go with HH. JdB did a job against Eng but Lem was the guy.
14 Dec 2009, 22:28 pm
@WP Till I Die: LEM was his nickname!
14 Dec 2009, 22:29 pm
@Johan Fourie: 320 – Yip, Remember watching that game at a gamepark the game against Oz that we won 61 – 22. Everyone was crowding around this small screen. Had to stand on a chair to see, well quite a few of us had too…..hahaha. Was worth it. At the time never seen us play such great rugby. That was Carel’s last game with the Boks. We went on from there with Mallett.
14 Dec 2009, 22:29 pm
@Puma:
yeah definitely – did not want to watch the oz gane when heard he had not been picked to play larkham – but it wad close nevertheless – pipped by those buggers in xtra time.
14 Dec 2009, 22:29 pm
@WP Till I Die: Agree!
14 Dec 2009, 22:30 pm
Joost was one of the best scrumhalves this country produced. Only FdP comes close in terms of reading the game.
14 Dec 2009, 22:31 pm
@Shakes: 325 – Yip, Lem was the guy and should have played in the semi. We would have won that game I am sure of it. France were rubbish in that final against Oz. Think it should have been us there we could have had 3 world cups now.
14 Dec 2009, 22:32 pm
@Puma: Sad thing is Carel got fired before that last game.
14 Dec 2009, 22:33 pm
@cab: 328 – Cabbie that was heart breaking losing in extra time. Especially with a Larkham drop kick. Against Larkham we should have had Lem there. Ag, Just have to think what could have been.
14 Dec 2009, 22:33 pm
Wow, it’s great reminiscing like this. I’m having flashbacks of Japie Mulder and Joost double-teaming on Lomu in the 1995 RWC…
14 Dec 2009, 22:34 pm
@WP Till I Die: No, disagree here. I think FdP reads the game better. Joost was brilliant in creative play, but FdP reads the game better than anyone, excet maybe for Naas.
14 Dec 2009, 22:35 pm
@WP Till I Die:
mark andrews was playing at 8 and they had big old rudie straulie off the bench, actually that was a pretty useful team, the ABs were teh favorourites, but i knew the Bokke would win it at home.
14 Dec 2009, 22:35 pm
@Johan Fourie: 332 – Johan, I feel the same. That last game was out of this world really. I wonder if Mallett ran with that team from that? I often wonder how Carel would have gone with the team had they given him more time?
Mallett did do well with them but who knows was it Carels game plan? Then knowing the kinda bloke Mallett is probably no. He is very much his own man.
14 Dec 2009, 22:36 pm
@Puma:
yes, i also thought it was only by 3 points, but i looked at the result the other day and i think it was by 6, he must have landed another droppie or penalty thereadter which i;ve erased from my memory banks.
14 Dec 2009, 22:37 pm
@Puma: After that loss against Aus in the semi, I took my coffee table outside and smashed it to pieces! I was sooooo upset! It was a brand new wooden table. I threw it, kicked it, punched it…! Felt silly afterwords, but I was just too upset to think.
14 Dec 2009, 22:37 pm
Since we’re discussing what-could-have-beens: Joe van Niekerk. My word he had (has) talent. Imagine if things had run a different course…such promise. One of the most complete No 8s, on form, EVER. But injuries and attitude problems…
14 Dec 2009, 22:38 pm
@Johan Fourie: 335 – Jeepers we have had some great scrummies and they are all Bulls players.
Yip, One forgets how good Naas was. Still to this day I always wait to see his comments on the game after.
Remember sitting up watching the game in 1981 against NZ. The Flour Bomb tour. Naas was superb then. Watched that game on a black and white TV………hahahahahahaha. How times have changed. Sitting up about 4.30am in the morning to see it too.
14 Dec 2009, 22:38 pm
we’re all getting nostalgic here.
can remember being on a tarmac bus to a flight from joburg to durbs.
next to me was shaun pollock and across the aisle was mark andrews, lem, andre joubert and gary teichman.
the guys were chatting quietly amongst themselves except lem never said a word, just had that half-smile on his face.
great bloke
14 Dec 2009, 22:38 pm
@WP Till I Die: Japies best tackle on Lomu was that one on the touch line. He timed his tackle to perfection!
14 Dec 2009, 22:38 pm
As for this story my take is that a cabinet full of silverware is giving us a false sense of security. We have a number of problems like father time taking it’s toll on a few players especially our captain who will be lucky to get to 2011, problems in frontrow especially at 3, one dimensional gameplan (so-called playing to our strengths) that would have been exposed if DC was not injured and GH selected the right players to deal with the fourie du preez barrage (read garry owen). We need to adapt and vary our game. Leave it as it is and we will go into reverse throughout 2010 and beyond.
14 Dec 2009, 22:40 pm
@WP Till I Die: WPTID – Big Joe, Is a brilliant 8. Strong as they come too. Pity with all his injuries he lost out with that position. One of our very best players too.
14 Dec 2009, 22:40 pm
@Johan Fourie:
the moral of the story is not too buy any new TVs or furniture around the time of the RWC. put the pets in the kennel, the kids in the creche and send the tannies to the shops.
14 Dec 2009, 22:41 pm
Charo, Lem is an absolute legend and a gentleman. My uncle is a GP in Bergville, knows him well. He played not for money or fame, but for the love of the game and the pride of wearing the Green and Gold.
14 Dec 2009, 22:41 pm
@Johan Fourie: 343 – Remember that so well like it was yesterday. He went straight for the ankle area and got him out that way. Superb. Otherwise ABs would have had a try there for sure.
Thank you Japie…LOL. He save us there for sure. Then we did get a try but it was not awarded. No tv refs those days.
14 Dec 2009, 22:43 pm
@Puma: Lucky you! I followed the games on radio. Gerhard Vivier was the commentator. My dad used to wake me up early, and we would sit in the kitchen, drinking coffee. I remember that 3rd test so well! Ray Mordt scored 3 tries, and Clive Norling was the ref. Alan Hewson kicked the winning penalty 10 minutes or so into extra time. NZ won 22-19 I think?
I also remember Naas scorin 2 tries against Auckland in our 24-12 win.
14 Dec 2009, 22:44 pm
@cab: LOL! Very true, dood advice!
14 Dec 2009, 22:44 pm
i was suprised to hear that there was a springbok code of conduct – wonder if they had to modify it to accomadate joosts proclivities. manne, scratch our rules 2 thru 10…which leaves out only with no 1: “Bid”.
14 Dec 2009, 22:45 pm
We did get lucky in that final though. If some of the Kiwis did not sneak out for dodgy seafood, I fear we would have lost…the Kiwis were outright favourites, a dominant force in world rugby at that stage. Maar as jy dom is, moet jy k@k.
14 Dec 2009, 22:45 pm
@WP Till I Die:
and used to commute something like 400kms roundtrip for every natal practice – that’s dedication.
unlike some of the spoilt brats we see today.
14 Dec 2009, 22:45 pm
@WP Till I Die: FDP is best compared to Naas Botha.
14 Dec 2009, 22:46 pm
@Puma: Till today Ruben Kruger says that he did score. Just glad it didn’t matter at the end!
14 Dec 2009, 22:47 pm
@Johan Fourie: 339 – Don’t sit around a coffee table for the next world cup.
Well if we are all staying here to watch we are going to be doing just that drinking coffee around our coffee tabel, as it will be in the early hours of the morning in winter. No big screen and pub or braais with mates. That time of the morning.
Just have to get over there to see the game otherwise we will be here in a different time zone watching in our PJ’s…..hehehehehe.
14 Dec 2009, 22:47 pm
@WP Till I Die:
no chance, those poor ******** were playing mandela himself, i took one look at that crazy-arsed crowd and said, its coming home.
14 Dec 2009, 22:48 pm
@WP Till I Die: Do they mention that in the movie 2?
14 Dec 2009, 22:48 pm
i sometimes think there is too much sentiment about who should have played 10 in that 99 rwc semi.
the players (allegedly) voted for jannie over lem because of the 5 drops in the quarters.
but we should not forget that pressure kick from jannie on full time to keep us in the game.
lem’s goalkicking was always suspect.
to me it’s a moot point whether lem would have won the game for us.
14 Dec 2009, 22:48 pm
Yes, charo. Chatted to Divan Serfontein a few months back – in those days you had to put in annual leave to go on tour and you were lucky to get a bottle of red wine as ‘payment’ for a Bok test! Eish, times have changed…
14 Dec 2009, 22:49 pm
@Johan Fourie: 355 – Pienaar says so too.
What a player Rubin was. Damn he was one of our very best 7 ever, actually he was a openside. He was shifted to make space for Pienaar at 6.
14 Dec 2009, 22:50 pm
@Puma: Those days they played rugby at 3:30 only. Later they moved it to 4, 5, and now 7. We used to switch between channels on radio to listen to different CC games.
14 Dec 2009, 22:51 pm
i think even the 747 pilot had been drinking, i think he broke numerous FAA regulations when flying so low over the stadium, the poor kiwis must have thought they were in the wild west, luckily piet van zyl could not get on in those days with the barbed wire — hell it was like a bear pit.
14 Dec 2009, 22:51 pm
Ruben Kruger was a hard player. Bliksem, I would not have wanted to be tackled by him!
14 Dec 2009, 22:53 pm
@WP Till I Die: How different it is now! Naas worked as a pliceman. One of his benifits was that he could train and play anytime he wanted.
14 Dec 2009, 22:53 pm
@charo:
i suppose so, mallett probably did the right thing putting it to a vote, thing with de beer was he;d just had such a huge game against england and out-droppied them to pieces. bladdy droppies, the scurge of SA rugby…and then we were out-droppied.
14 Dec 2009, 22:54 pm
Actually, it is a toss-up between Ruben Kruger, Henry Honnibal and Uli Schmidt for players I would least have liked to tackle me.
14 Dec 2009, 22:54 pm
@WP Till I Die: He was! He played 1st team at Grey College for 3 years. St8, 9, and 10. He was extremely strong in his upperbody!
14 Dec 2009, 22:54 pm
Okay I am out of here.
Cheers, Cabbie, Charo, WPTID, Shake and Johan.
Was a pleasure to blog tonight. Just rugby chats the way it should be. Good memories too about some great games.
Catch up tomorrow. Cheers all.
14 Dec 2009, 22:56 pm
@WP Till I Die: And Naas….!
14 Dec 2009, 22:56 pm
This thread tonight just oozes old-school keo. I love it!
14 Dec 2009, 22:56 pm
johan fourie – that 1981 tour – i had recently moved to joburg and was living in melville. got up early for every single game.
those days we used to work saturday am in the office.
when that game was called off because of tacks on the field, i went to work in the foulest mood imaginable.
all the clerks kept away from me
14 Dec 2009, 22:56 pm
@Puma: Cheers Puma! I’m also out!
14 Dec 2009, 22:58 pm
@Puma:
cheers Puma.
@WP Till I Die:
Os Du Rand when he lined someone up, was massive.
Pieter Muller very hard, often high.
Mannetjies Roux was meant to be something else, i think he put a tackle on one of the BIL tourists which was remembered in a very bad light.
14 Dec 2009, 22:58 pm
Springbok rugby will live forever in the collective consciousnesses of its supporters, an oral tradition to be passed down from father to son. For this I am thankful.
14 Dec 2009, 23:00 pm
@charo: LOL! To think that they slept on pool tables under the pavilion! Not the ideal situation when you are playing the AB’s!
I read in Naas’s book that Danie Gerber joined the demostrators by the hotel. He protested with them against himself! Great sense of humour!
14 Dec 2009, 23:01 pm
@cab: When Naas lined someone up, that was special!
14 Dec 2009, 23:01 pm
@WP Till I Die: Amen!
14 Dec 2009, 23:01 pm
@WP Till I Die:
took the words out of my mouth.
when i first joined this bunch, the most irritating guy was “the_saint” who used to think only the “ou manne” had rights. sort of “trompie and the boksombende”
when I started addressing him as “the_stain” i became a sworn enemy.
14 Dec 2009, 23:02 pm
@Johan Fourie:
LOL, never seen a flyahlf with the natural speed of Haas, hell he could move when he needed too.
14 Dec 2009, 23:03 pm
@cab: Joggie Jansen was awsome 2. Till today my Dad reckons that he was the biggest tackler ever in SA. Before my time though, he played 12 and Mannetjies 13.
14 Dec 2009, 23:04 pm
@Johan Fourie:
played golf with danie gerber at the uitenhage open yonks ago – he had only recently retired.
another lem type guy – quiet and unassuming.
bloody good golfer though
14 Dec 2009, 23:04 pm
Cab, yes, usually out of the way!
14 Dec 2009, 23:04 pm
@cab: BWAHAHAHAAAAA!!! Naas could “scnoll” my friend!
14 Dec 2009, 23:05 pm
@Johan Fourie:
thats a bladdy funny story about gerber, the okes must have hosed.
i didn;t know he was a joker.
14 Dec 2009, 23:05 pm
@charo: Sad that someone who never smoked, never drank, and was so active and fit could have heart trouble!
14 Dec 2009, 23:06 pm
@Johan Fourie:
interesting, yes, i hear about mannetjies from my old man, i dig the names, he thought mannetjies was a bit dirty, maar nouja.
14 Dec 2009, 23:08 pm
@cab: Apparently he had a good sense of humour! As they were riding in the bus between hotel and stadium, they would take bets on what colour paintbomb would hit then next! They had to entertain themselves under all that presure.
14 Dec 2009, 23:08 pm
Ja, Danie Gerber was allright by Despatch standards
Whatever happened to greatest13gerber?
14 Dec 2009, 23:08 pm
he was bladdy clever tho Naas, there’s never been anyone who could read a game like him tactically. Fox was damn good too, but he did not have Nasty’s speed, boot distance (which was utterly phenomenal) or his brain (tho the kiwis would laugh at that).
14 Dec 2009, 23:10 pm
@cab: He was great. He was a pilot in the Air Force. Dont know if it is true, but he could fly a plane underneath telephone and electric cables. Not scared at all!
14 Dec 2009, 23:11 pm
@Johan Fourie:
actually it was more blood pressure problem than heart – the silent killer.
bloody lucky they got it in time.
in fact danie was a bit small town puritanical – a good despatch boy.
we were a bunch of cpt golf tourists who ended up in the uitenhage open because one of the guys came from there. don’t think danie approved too much of our beer intake but never really showed it.
14 Dec 2009, 23:11 pm
@WP Till I Die: Thats low! Despatch is not that bad!
Doring van Despatch!
14 Dec 2009, 23:11 pm
Johan Fourie, I heard that story too. Classic!
14 Dec 2009, 23:12 pm
@charo: Oh. But he did have heart surgery right?
14 Dec 2009, 23:13 pm
Have to go guys! Catch up soon I hope!
14 Dec 2009, 23:14 pm
yip, better be off too, cheers all.
14 Dec 2009, 23:17 pm
Times, they are a changing. I look at my younger nieces and nephews and I think, hell, have things changed that much? Sometimes I feel old. I remember waking up in the middle of the night to catch a Bok test or Formula One on the radio or TV – now they all have PVR…
14 Dec 2009, 23:18 pm
@cab:
bored?
no skoppie or grant to fight with?
14 Dec 2009, 23:20 pm
@WP Till I Die:
just think how old i feel – no tv in my late teens – listening to charles fortune commentate while fiddling with my girlfriend’s underwear
14 Dec 2009, 23:21 pm
@charo:
gotta finish something for tomoro, ja i been doing too much fighting lately, nice change actually. perhaps i bite my lip from now on.
14 Dec 2009, 23:23 pm
@cab:
naah, keep it up – the exchanges make good reading.
14 Dec 2009, 23:24 pm
@charo:
lol, charles fortune was great too. actually that is a bladdy funny country.
14 Dec 2009, 23:25 pm
Speaking of which, I remember getting up early for that infamous 1992 cricket world cup semi…Graeme Hicks scoring 80 plus almost run a ball…22 required off 13 balls…then the rain came. 21 off 1 ball – man was I upset!
14 Dec 2009, 23:27 pm
@WP Till I Die:
that was actually a disaster, actually that seriously pissed me off, that and those bladdy alan donald run-out, goddamnit we were a far better team and they beat us back-to-back with Gibbs dropping the WC.
14 Dec 2009, 23:29 pm
SA cricket is similar to NZ rugby, cab.
14 Dec 2009, 23:29 pm
seriously that duckworth-lewis in 92 was nothing short of daylight robbery.
14 Dec 2009, 23:30 pm
@WP Till I Die:
yeah, choke choke choke.
poor buggers got it in their backyard in 2011 – i actually kinda hope they win it but i fear the Bokke will, again.
14 Dec 2009, 23:30 pm
@WP Till I Die:
that gloating pom supporter will forever stay engraved in my mind.
sa had the game won and the cameras kept panning to this pasty prick praying.
and the tool got his wish
14 Dec 2009, 23:31 pm
Cab, I was 14 then – I was gutted. I even cried. It was shocking. But Martin Crowe was the player of the tournament – wow! But I will never forget Jonty’s guided missile launch to take out Inzamam
14 Dec 2009, 23:32 pm
alright i actually gotta do some work for a change..later.
14 Dec 2009, 23:33 pm
@charo:
sorry about the alliteration – unintentional
14 Dec 2009, 23:34 pm
ok cheers guys – what a pleasant change to chat without defending one’s heritage.
14 Dec 2009, 23:35 pm
Cheers, charo. You still north of the Equator?
14 Dec 2009, 23:38 pm
@WP Till I Die:
for another week then head home for a break.
actually my office is only 400 miles north of 0 latitude and almost on 0 longitude.
the locals proudly proclaim it to be the “centre of the earth”
8)
chat tomorrow
15 Dec 2009, 09:21 am
FFS everytime I come on this website Keo and his staff keep reminding everybody about what trophy’s have been won this year.
Are we turning into effing poms? They still carry on about winning the soccer world cup in 1966 and sure as **** stinks they will carry on about 2003 until armafukkingeddon, the only thing that shut them up about 1997 was this years Lions tour.
I suggest we shut up and wait until next season which will hopefully be as good but in all honesty everytime the Boks have a good season it is almost always followed with a season or two of abject disappointment.
The true test for this “great” side is to do what no Bok side has done since re-admission and that is to string a couple of consecutive great seasons together. Maybe once that ******* off our back we can begin to get a little boastful.
15 Dec 2009, 12:50 pm
@Big Hit:
lol
Typical,so the number spot means nothing without the RWC trophy,so that means that the RWC trophy means nothing without the #1 position,is that right?
Thing is holding the #1 spot and being the RWC champs are 2 different accomplishments,both are really important tags to have and hold.IT seems to be a struggle for ther RWC holders to keep the #1 spot as well,SA have proved it and we all know England looked like Chumps for well lets say the last 6 years after the RWC win in 2003
15 Dec 2009, 12:55 pm
@cab:
Cab.if you dont face Ireland,France,OZ or NZ,you could win it. Good to see you have confidence in your side,i know i have and i think you guys havnt a show in NZ 2011 going on the last 5 games the Boks played. But hey its a couple of years away,anything could happen,could be Frances turn to win the RWC or Irelands
15 Dec 2009, 13:03 pm
@Hurricane: Wouldn’t that be funny – Ireland winning the WC in NZ.
Naa, ain’t going to happen. I think the Boks have as good a chance as 2007
15 Dec 2009, 13:06 pm
@Hurricane: forget the RWC, what about the 3N trophy, the ABs don’t have either the RWC trophy or the 3N trophy and they’re no.1 despite the No.2 side whacking them 3-0, it’s a farce and shows the limitations of the rankings system
15 Dec 2009, 13:07 pm
@Heavens Game:
yeah. Funny thing is i dont think NZ have got a better chance to win this thing as we did in 2007. We totally bulls it in 2007. But it a couple of years away,lets just see
15 Dec 2009, 13:10 pm
@Hurricane: Just hire Soozie
15 Dec 2009, 13:11 pm
@Big Hit:
you seem to be confused. SA lost to France and Ireland,the last time we beat both those teams. We beat OZ as well,SA didnt in the last game. You seem to have a problem with a team that keeps winning games. As we all know the #1 spot does not mean owning all the Cups in the world,winning games is the way to do it,England should try sometime
15 Dec 2009, 13:12 pm
@Heavens Game:
Na the weather,travel,refs,fatigue and Boring Hamilton should take care of you guys
15 Dec 2009, 13:14 pm
@Hurricane: Boring Hamilton, weather and refs did’nt take care of the World Champions with the last visit to NZ
15 Dec 2009, 13:20 pm
@Heavens Game:
Nope it sure didnt,and well done.NZ cant win em all at home,its only a matter of time before you guys start winning in NZ.1st game was last year wasnt it,for like over 10 years,and now another two this year,excellent,really out doing yourselves
15 Dec 2009, 13:26 pm
Before you guys start winning ??
My deluded brother-in-rugby in Kiwiland. Ask yourself why the World Champions won this year as opposed to “the last 10 years”.
Maybe something to do with the real problem of a lopsided travel schedule.
The same travel schedule that tilts the odds in Kiwi and Oz favour, not to mention the refs, and “boring Hamilton”.
15 Dec 2009, 15:03 pm
@Hurricane:
Hurricane, lets face it, you guys will meet the Bokke in the semi-final. Can you see the kiwis beating the current Bok side? I cant. The Bokke seem to play to their true potential against the ABs and then some. All the pressure will be on NZ, again. Mate, I think your best bet is if someone else knocks the Bokke out, cos if they play the Kiwis, there can only be one winner.
15 Dec 2009, 16:52 pm
@Hurricane: of course it means nothing Cane, just like coming second at the world cup…hes a sour puss, was noticeably absent when his team lost, yet still tries to get into the good books with the Saffas on here… must be a tad lonely there in ole Blighty…
@cab: something about putting the cart before the horse cab? I think if they had played after the EOYTs then the ABs would have beaten them… as Ireland showed, when your special teams (i.e goalkickers) arent firing, you have no other solutions… a worrying aspect 2 years out from the world cup huh?
15 Dec 2009, 21:56 pm
@Heavens Game: What rubbish about the travel schedule All Blacks go to Europe for seven weeks and go undefeated in all test matches and losing to a very strong Babaas team, I guess you have similar excuses like we have for the 95, 07 World Cup losses…I look at the 91,99,03 losses as just beaten by a better team.
15 Dec 2009, 22:01 pm
@cab: Yes the All Blacks could beat the current Boks only if we get Hayman, Jack, Williams back into the tight five, I believe we are stonger enough in the backs maybe if Richard Kahui returns along with Aaron Mauger along with Weepu than we are set to teach the Boks who is the real masters of Rugby Union.
15 Dec 2009, 22:06 pm
@marvinb:
A sh it pile of “if’s” there bud?? And “if” the Boks got back Frans Steyn, JDV, BJ, CJ etc, you’d have no chance
15 Dec 2009, 22:07 pm
@poppa69:
Haha…………more “if’s”…….classic. Win the games when they count bud!
15 Dec 2009, 22:57 pm
@marvinb: So what are you looking at for the World Cup…
1. Woodcock
2. Hore
3. Hayman
4. Thorn ?
5. Williams
6. Kaino
7. McCaw
8. Reade
doesn’t look like a World Cup winning pack to me, 6 of the 8 were blasted away by the Boks this year. An injury to any one of Hayman, Williams, McCaw or Thorn and you may as well not bother turning up.
15 Dec 2009, 23:05 pm
@Big Hit:
15 Dec 2009, 23:54 pm
@whatever:
beaten those guys already.
@Big Hit:
Big Hit,as you know w team with injuries to 3 top players can cause problems,its been you excuse for the last 6 years for a pathetic England team. By the way 6 of the 8 were not blasted by the Bok team,the damage was not done in the forwards,it was the Boks all round game and there game plan at the time won them the 3N,and we played average in the 3N,**** happens.But once again we showed who is the best team in the world by hammering all up in the NH. Outplayed in the forwards come scrum time but games are not won with a good scrum,as we showed.
15 Dec 2009, 23:56 pm
@whatever:
By the way,we heard alot of ifs this year with the Boks getting hammered in the NH this year. How about you win the games that will make you the #1 team,not the old flash in the pan team
16 Dec 2009, 00:11 am
@Hurricane: ‘the damage was not done in the forwards’
did you even watch it? McCaw and co. were hanging on for dear life.
and you only hammered France in the NH, but they beat you at home too so…
16 Dec 2009, 00:24 am
@Big Hit:
I watched the march with both eyes,unlike you. You are the worst when it comes to NZ,nothing good comes from NZ from what you can see.
By the way,no tries scored against us in 2 years against NH test teams at there home. To me we have hammered all for 2 years,shame that one eye of yours is going blind
16 Dec 2009, 00:26 am
@Hurricane:
March = Match
16 Dec 2009, 00:29 am
@Hurricane: ag grow up man.
the boks smashed nz this year, end of.
if you “showed us who is the better team” by losing 3-0 and then beating other teams then maybe you will get a chance to do so in 2011……oops, you will face us in the semis???
good luck with that.
16 Dec 2009, 00:34 am
@Hurricane: biggie is talking about south africa mate, stick with the programme.
if you want to keep on ignoring the facts then thats up to you.
nz has had the wood on sa for a long time but the wheel turns.
i see aus, france and ireland as real threats come 2011, and nz are always there or thereabouts, as are the boks.
all the rest is just bluster.
16 Dec 2009, 00:36 am
just by the way, if you want to keep pointting out dirt tracker losses, then how about the loss to the baabaas?
does that make it 4-0?
9 saffas in the side you recall?
16 Dec 2009, 00:43 am
@Hurricane:
Oh pleasse! No 1 side in the World gets smashed by a pick up Baabaa’s side that drank more p iss than it practiced in the few days they had together.
Get over yourself!
16 Dec 2009, 01:53 am
@Hurricane: well ignore the ‘march’ and watch the MATCH next time
I like NZ lamb, that’s something good that comes from NZ, see I’m not all bad
16 Dec 2009, 02:14 am
@rangerman:
Can you please show me where i said we wernt beaten??
Some of you guys are so defensive,all i said was we went hammered in the forwards as Big HIt suggested,SA played an overall game that was better than what NZ could combat and had to offer.
And by the way Ranger,wasnt it you who in 2007 the Boks would have beaten the NZ in the RWC cos of SA beat a team that beat France,even though we hammered you twice in 2007.no difference really is their?
@whatever:

16 Dec 2009, 07:38 am

16 Dec 2009, 12:23 pm
Hi, folks!
IMHO, 2009 was the year of the South Africa and Ireland. Lions, 3-0 vs NZ, 3N, S14 and (also Sevens series title – ok, a bit different matter) for SA; 6N Grand Slam, unbeaten year and Boks scalp for Ireland.
Plenty of trophies and bragging rights to defend for both. Good luck.
Vultures are gathering.
16 Dec 2009, 12:31 pm
@Nils: plus – Heineken cup for Irish team for 2 year running (and 3rd time in last 4 years, I guess).
16 Dec 2009, 12:31 pm
i think if there was an award for for blogger of the year with most ‘impartial’ comment, surely Big Hit will get it.
16 Dec 2009, 12:33 pm
must be the fairest englishman in christendom, its true the Bokke were all over the ABs and richie was hanging on for dear life.
16 Dec 2009, 12:48 pm
@cab: you and big hit should get a room mate, the man love between you is just cringe worthy
16 Dec 2009, 12:48 pm
@cab:
Big Hit…………a.k.a…………….Deep Throat.
Surely you jest!
Sir Stodders, The amiable Jock, and the mortal enemy of Big Titty, is 198 times a better student of the game. And I might add, a more ballanced human being.
Scotts have ballance…………Poms have….let me think…….thinking is difficult for me at the best of times, but to think what Poms have as saving grace is………..well…..well it’s difficult……..Poms have, yip, they have Soccer.
16 Dec 2009, 12:55 pm
@cab:
“must be the fairest englishman in christendom”.
No Christian could ever harbour the malice Biggles holds for NZ, and all things Kiwi.
I think perhaps Biggie may be a Heathen.
16 Dec 2009, 13:20 pm
between Heathen and Christians and Saracens and Crusaders would be difficult to determine who is purer and more honorable than who
16 Dec 2009, 13:21 pm
@poppa69:
pops, fair is fair, we must give credit when it is due.
@cane:
MacStodders, you gotta be kidding, that wee highlander has sold his soul to the ABs a long time ago. If I want to hear how good the ABs are, i listen to Stodders, but if its fair comment, surely Big Hit.
16 Dec 2009, 13:23 pm
@skopskiet: … the rugby teams?
16 Dec 2009, 13:27 pm
no such thing as fair comment in cyberspace, none at all, in fact no such thing as fair comment period wherever 2 or more idiots gather together to discuss bs till the cows come home. Fair comment went out with Geogie porgy when he tried to kiss the girls and made them cry instead.
16 Dec 2009, 13:29 pm
@skopskiet: *smile and nod, just smile and nod*
16 Dec 2009, 13:29 pm

16 Dec 2009, 13:38 pm
your poor gabba’s don’t know their asses from their elbows and the grandiose pity of it all is those under hand little coward delusionists can’t see the wood for the trees and continue to try ratify their self indoctrinated denying bs with every little manipulative intellectual trick under the sun, only problem is the only ones they b’sh’ting is their pitiful lost **** selves.
16 Dec 2009, 13:40 pm
@skopskiet: Angel Princess… hardly. Just a normal person
16 Dec 2009, 13:45 pm

Skoppie………..
If it was good enough for the men in trenches in 1917………..it should be good enough for Skoppie.
Give it a try.
16 Dec 2009, 14:14 pm
princess Sarah, you’re a princess don’t let em tell you otherwise and this old world would be a far better place with more of the likes of you around.
You don’t know pissed off from reality cabbage patch. You got the entire little shindig all *** about face and inside out back to front. What you see and what you understand ain’t even the beginning of the ice berg and then you poor sod encrusted physicists can’t fathom quite wtf is going down when it all pans out to zero.
You really think I care two hoot’s about who goes which way down which alley way you got no clue about what my standpoint is. My stand point is simply the opposite of absolute adulterated lies, you and some those other poor fools don’t actually realise what it is you trying to find out, because none of you are actually sincerely honest or true with yourselves, you’ll continue to beat about your bush of delusion till you can’t beat no more.
Do you honestly think that truth needs pitiful little nobody me to stand up for it, you gotta be kidding yourselves, its got nothing to do with what is true or not its simply got to do with chicken sh’t under handed vindictive lying deceiving twat *** cowards that are crying out for someone or something to call their falsified bs bluff and smack their high and might arrogance and set the record straight, but bottom line is they even too chicken sh’t cowardly for that.
You don’t have too much clue about what is really going down, you standing out on the perifery and trying to make out your deductions without any of the ingredients to determine your scientific model conclusions. You really think it comes down to some chemical adjustment of the brain function you barking up the wrong tree . . once again. Best you can try do is calm your over agitated brain and try think clearly for a little bit, and if you truly reckon you are anything of a real scientist you proclaim yourself to be then set out your aim determine your method find the clearly applicable apparatus to reach your conclusive result. Seems to me you got lost in the white water of all and sundry’s churning delusions, now you more confused and deluded yourself than eves before. You can’t take the heat of the experiment then get out the kitchen fast because if at all you think you are a real questioning scientist then by jove you gonna get eaten alive by your own inquisitiveness.
16 Dec 2009, 14:28 pm
merry Merry to you too Cane dear friend. Give what a try, some fairy god mother nursery rhyme sing along festive cheery cheer cheer, sorry old fruit, been done and dusted that ring around the rosemary bush sing song already till all the cows have finally come home. Now all that’s left is gather ones loins and get out of the god forsaken over infested chicken coop kitchen before mamma hollers out the back door calling all her little chickadee’s to come home to roost.
I’ma outa here already got one foot out the back door now just gotta get the good deed done and get the hell out for good, anyone coming? . . Na thought as much not, no one really when push comes to shove got the balls for the tough call to see whats real and whats fake.
Cheeri bye chick a dee’s enjoy scratching for some more virile worms out in the over infested cabbage patch.
16 Dec 2009, 14:48 pm
@cane:
Merry christmas Cane. I think your prescence is always greatly enjoyed by all south africans.
The only thing i can say is you never seem to get flustered other than when the ‘fairest’ of foreign bloggers comments…
16 Dec 2009, 14:51 pm
Ou doos, if you dont give two hoots, then why we giving these long-winded diatribes on your pearls of enlightenment?
Perhaps you are the big bok who knows all and what happens when battlegoos goes pop, wonderful. Just sit back and bask in our total ignorance. You have all the answers, must be fantastic.
16 Dec 2009, 15:15 pm
@skopskiet: @ 457 Skoppie I guess the point is that the manner in which the message is delivered too often detracts form the essence of truth in the message. An example that comes to mind is Luke. To some there is a lot of truth in the message he brings but the manner in which it is delivered causes some to ignore it or pull it apart on the basis of their prejudices/beliefs or standing. The same applies to the Crusaders etc. Are we able to objectively hear the message and decipher the truths without prejudice to the message bringer.
16 Dec 2009, 15:16 pm
pity you don’t Mr. Scientist or you still too cowardly to find out? Big talking bs artists the entire dumb doos delusional lot of ya. You still of this c.ck n bull delusion that you can decipher reality on a blog site or in a test tube or particle bombarding machine you so far up your god forsaken creek without no paddles it ain’t even a joke no more. You no scientist you dumb doos you a poor lost **** in Disney land, you don’t even know the beginning of the meaning of the word ‘science’. Its about time you got off your fictitious delusionist pedestal and found out.
16 Dec 2009, 15:19 pm
You have no idea what others are finding out, i have listened to some very interesting things from you, but what you are unable to do is to see another viewpoint, you are trully indoctrinated, and by god i hope you are right, cos putting all your eggs in one basket like that, imagine admitting to yourself that the foundations are shakey, it’d be unbearable to face.
16 Dec 2009, 15:20 pm
you’re an utter idiot. you dont know the first thing about science. you just know its bad.
16 Dec 2009, 15:25 pm
To Puma and Langehoven, A very Happy Birthday all the way from Holland.
Hey Puma didn’t realise you were that much older than me – 3 years.
16 Dec 2009, 15:25 pm
yes bananaboy, its quite true, I make the cardinal sin time and time again believing in my ignorant idealist stupor that everyone is truly interested in truth, but it ain’t so, they call themselves Christians and scientists and Jews and Muslims and Buddhists and this and that but not a single one, not one poor sod (or lets rephrase) very few true seekers there are in creation who sincerely do want to find out exactly who the hell they are and wtf in fact they doing on this tiny remote spinning orb out in the middle of nowhere.
So better I just shut the f’ak up about it for their sake as well as mine.
16 Dec 2009, 15:28 pm
bad – good, there aint no such thing, just reality and illusion, thats all, once you get to taste some reality then you’ll know the difference, till then stand on the perifery and keep on guessing about it.
16 Dec 2009, 15:32 pm
The Truth according to who?
They call themselves mystics and sages and masters and tokoloshes and they still fighting over The Truth with baba this and guru that.
16 Dec 2009, 15:37 pm
why you think The Truth from these guys is all poetic metaphor?
cos they cant describe a goddamn thing.
we’ve had these ‘adepts’ from the beginning of time who claim The Truth, but they each have their version, wars are fought over The Truth.
I mean this palooka hates science for telling a PARTIAL truth based on evidence, which contests his version of The Truth, whatever the f’ck that is, and boy of boy, better you swallow its the trutch unquestioning, since these chaps dont tolerate quastions on the truth, you either accept their truth or you’re out.
16 Dec 2009, 15:48 pm
Blessings to all Keolings during this time of the year, whether you believe in the christmas or not. In most african societies this has always beena season of revelry, celebration, colour & renewal, so happy kwanzaa…harambee to you and yours skopskiet!

I’ll do one better and be another to dissapear from here permanently.
You no longer the nigg* in the woodpile, its now all yours.
I’m actually sick of what can only be described as the most rude attitude i have ever seen. Those ppl you take potshots at write many things which do not insult your most dearest and yet you continue to eff and blind and bludgeon them, and i sat back cos i thought you meant well but they dont deserve it – and they are easy pickings – you are the f’ckin coward.
And whats more, for the final truth, its you who has the biggest ego, its here who cant handle another viewpoint, its you who goes f’ing apeshit whenever something is said that contests your own beliefs. That advice is free of charge, not from a guru.
Totsiens Ou Doos.

Yissis, it is the day of reconciliation and some guys are still going at each other like old Andries Pretorias and Dingaan went at each other on this day many years ago.
Today would also have been the birthday of the great composer Beethoven. It is also the birthday of Bennie Anderson who was the mastermind behind many of the songs by the ancient middle of the road group Abba. And it is also Puma’s birthday.
Congratulations Puma, if you see this, I hope you had a great day and that their will be many more.
@gunther:
#533
Jacques was just himself.
16 Dec 2009, 19:06 pm
@Robzim:
and thank goodness for that…although he did have the best strike rate of the day…mmmm
16 Dec 2009, 19:09 pm
Rest in peace, Manto. May you find reconciliation in another plane. Cab, skopskiet, this little spat is beneath you. I enjoy reading both your opinions. Let’s not post in anger now.
16 Dec 2009, 20:23 pm
cab is a first class doos for bringing conversations he had in private with skopskiet to the blog. That kind conniving deception is the slime ball stuff reminiscent of rudi geldenhuys. Poor form Cab.
16 Dec 2009, 20:45 pm
WTF happened here. But like WPTID says guys yourre much better and bigger than this little cyber-spat.
16 Dec 2009, 21:11 pm
@Slappes: Is it me, I can’t take these spats seriously, at least not where Skop is concerned!!
I have been ‘The Lady of The Lakes’ and a ‘Dom Pom Floozie’ in the same month!!
I think he is a bit hormonal!!
16 Dec 2009, 21:18 pm
@carol: gbs needs his ego stroked, get to work!
16 Dec 2009, 21:20 pm
Carol,
yeah ol Skop and Cab had their OK Corral today. My eyes still hurt.
16 Dec 2009, 21:51 pm
@Pearl Rose: GBS ego is quite secure, you are obviously a Rugby-Talk observer and will know this!!
Just what is your problem, remind me?
16 Dec 2009, 21:55 pm
@Slappes: It’s funny what can trigger things off….
16 Dec 2009, 22:00 pm
what can trigger things off is a betrayal of trust, thats usually what triggers things like this off, or you still don’t get the picture, like fence hopping between that other delinquent site and this one, same diffs.
16 Dec 2009, 22:04 pm
@carol: what is there to observe? Dom Pom Floozie for sure.
16 Dec 2009, 22:08 pm
Like I said before, Carol is not aware of the subtle socio-culturo-historical influences at work. Afford her some courtesy and respect, as hospitable South Africans should.
16 Dec 2009, 22:10 pm
@skopskiet: ‘Betrayal of Trust’, we are talking blogging here Skop. Not United Nations Peace Talks!!
16 Dec 2009, 22:12 pm
@Pearl Rose:
The word ~Dom is not used in England and is very ‘interesting’!!
16 Dec 2009, 22:13 pm
@WP Till I Die: Hi WPTID, I look past the ‘wierd’ stuff and talk to people I like!!
How can it be so difficult for Skop to appreciate this?
16 Dec 2009, 22:14 pm
Agree WPTID, plus Carols got the royal family to be worried about.
16 Dec 2009, 22:19 pm
@Slappes: Phil, Liz and the
‘kids’ give me sleepless nights, believe me!!
Actually Gordon Brown gives us more to worry about!!
16 Dec 2009, 22:22 pm
Carol
thought as much! Foxhunting pompous leeches. btw I should check my ancestry for a peerage or two.
16 Dec 2009, 22:24 pm
@skopskiet: what was the betrayal of trust skoppie?
16 Dec 2009, 22:24 pm
Earl of Slappes? Baron Slappes? sounds good.
16 Dec 2009, 22:26 pm
BH, your feudal rent is due. Pay up or have Sir Baldrick visit your abode.
16 Dec 2009, 22:33 pm
@Slappes: Start at the top, The Duke of Slappes, you usually get a decent ‘gaffe’ to go with it, ask Big Hit, he probably knows a duke or two!!
16 Dec 2009, 22:34 pm
@Big Hit: Good evening BH, thanks for asking that, I am still in the dark!!
16 Dec 2009, 22:51 pm
those that betray trust and honor of association know, and if they don’t then they should never be afforded that trust to begin with, just like someone who offered his trust to his near disciple once and then got sold out for a pocket of silver, trust should never be taken for granted or lightly, there are some in this world under the guise of open minded free thinking enquiry who will stoop to the lowest depths of human dishonor to uphold their own infatuated arrogant self opinionated high handed delusions about themselves and of others all in the name of freedom of transference of intellectual information which they mistake for some fake form of intelligence or enlightenment.
No one should ever trade love or trust lightly, its a commodity that is far too easily abused by the downright debased self righteous high handed intelligentsia as if they have free access to knowledge when it couldn’t be further from the truth, they think knowledge is something you glean in test tubes or newspapers or information websites or through chit chatting away like we doing now. True knowledge you only get as a transference of love, from one who has it to give to someone else who is seeking it. All other second grade bumph isn’t knowledge at all just highfaluting intellectual information which is like chaff when the wind of reality blows it disappears like the second grade information dust it is.
16 Dec 2009, 22:55 pm
hmmm….seems to me you took your anger at mistreatment by others out on cab skop.
but i am not privvy to whatever set you off, thank goodness.
your language and behaviour was about as bad as i have ever seen on this blog though.
good luck rationalising that as love or trust.
16 Dec 2009, 22:56 pm
@WP Till I Die: she’s most definitely aware, she often has nausea spells that induce her to vomit on some south african players she knows **** all about. I have no time for her sycophantic groupie nonsense. She pisses me off actually.
16 Dec 2009, 22:58 pm
@rangerman: Well said.
16 Dec 2009, 22:59 pm
@Pearl Rose: pathetic
16 Dec 2009, 23:01 pm
@carol: nothing wrong with being in the dark, as long as you’ve got someone with you
16 Dec 2009, 23:03 pm
yeah ranger man another one of these goody two shoes highly principled know it all’s that reckon they know wtf love or trust represents. Pity you don’t hardly have a g.dam clue. What gets transferred and what gets taken for granted only you twit twat that think you know yet don’t , have yet to find out. You have no clue about who deserves what under any circumstance of give and take in this scenario so unless you got even a remote idea about what comprises trust or love I suggest you shut it good till you do.
16 Dec 2009, 23:03 pm
amazing really some of lukes disciples are amongst the most unforgiving and uncharitable people on this planet…
16 Dec 2009, 23:06 pm
I doubt, therefore I think. I think, therefore I am. Skopskiet – we all have our subjective palaces of philosophical thought we take refuge in. The key to that palace is tolerance of other beliefs. We can not describe ourselves as men of reason and advocate ourselves as philosophers if we do not accord that freedom. Opinions are legion, and open to attack – by somehow seeking to exclude an opinion from attack is to make that opinion baseless. Let us revel in our unique diverseness, accord others the freedom we so crave, and do so eloquently. For, in the words of Sir Walter Raleigh, What is our life but a play of passion?
16 Dec 2009, 23:06 pm
@skopskiet: I think ranger is just going by the conversation you guys had earlier, none of us really know what went on except you two so we can’t draw any conclusions. I guess it’s none of our business really.
16 Dec 2009, 23:06 pm
@skopskiet: You are taking blogging to levels that really do not exist Skop.
I can’t decide if I am supposed to be Judas or Lady Macbeth?
16 Dec 2009, 23:08 pm
you too Joseph technicolor dream boat you got sweet f.all clue about what its about. This site had f.all to do with cab’s enquiry with me the punk is and was so outa line I’m ready to go to it again just the same till the penny drops you idiot.
16 Dec 2009, 23:09 pm
@Pearl Rose: A certain blogger actually said she would like to murder me!! I think vomiting on her was a very ‘restrained’ retort in the circumstances!!
I would NEVER vomit on a Springbok, unless they gave me a firemans lift after a large curry and several beers!!
16 Dec 2009, 23:09 pm
@WP Till I Die: good post.
16 Dec 2009, 23:11 pm
@SodaJoe: Evening ‘Me Ole Duck’ is it still safe to lick the lamposts in Miniapollis at the moment?
16 Dec 2009, 23:12 pm
I am reminded of a hymn at this stage. If it is not for Love, nothing matters. Becalm thee, withering storm, for tomorrow the saplings will be picked anew, and Time shall tarry for’ard as though nought has passed.
16 Dec 2009, 23:13 pm
@WP Till I Die: I agree with Pearl Rose (That will upset him) good post!!
16 Dec 2009, 23:14 pm
@WP Till I Die: You hum it, I’ll play it!!
16 Dec 2009, 23:14 pm
I actually just made that up, but Friedrich Schiller was a major creative influence.
16 Dec 2009, 23:14 pm
I was careful not to destroy any confidences.
However, you are right i should not have mentioned anything, even though everything seems open game for you, nevertheless i dont feel right about it, even tho i fear you are pulling strings.
Anyway, for that i apologise, i should not have revealed anything at all.
You won’t hear from me again.
16 Dec 2009, 23:15 pm
Hallo there! And I thought all was forgiven. So much for “time heals”!
16 Dec 2009, 23:15 pm
rangerman is a twit twat fool, idiots that think they can rationalize behaviour from seeing what transpires on the surface of a pitiful little rugby blog site don’t know squat from nothing. The fool that f’ak’d his trust to the wall knows it only too well, and like I said if he still don’t then he’s a bigger two faced schmuck than I thought he was.
16 Dec 2009, 23:17 pm
I met a four-time survivor of cancer tonight.
This blog pales in comparison.
We must love – or we must die pathetically.
16 Dec 2009, 23:17 pm
It takes a special kind of person to apologise after all that has been said! Good on you CAB!
16 Dec 2009, 23:17 pm
@carol: i have no time for your lame justifications. it seems you would have sought company of nazis and feign ignorance to their vile nature because you did not understand the socio-political issues in germany.
16 Dec 2009, 23:18 pm
@cab: You cannot cast yourself into exile in France…..Tomorrow is another day, besides we have no idea what you are on about anyway!!
16 Dec 2009, 23:18 pm
@WP Till I Die: Well said man!
16 Dec 2009, 23:19 pm
@WP Till I Die: Now that sentiment I applaud with my whole heart!!
16 Dec 2009, 23:19 pm
@carol: Howdy Carol! That man Kallis saved us from you guys today!
16 Dec 2009, 23:20 pm
Carol, saw you were on fb, had a feeling you might be here
16 Dec 2009, 23:20 pm
@Pearl Rose: Oh drop it…..I think you are a drama queen!!
16 Dec 2009, 23:21 pm
Come on Kallis! Get that double!
16 Dec 2009, 23:21 pm
@Johan Fourie: Hi Johan, I don’t think we have ever been introduced!!
I am not shown in my best light here tonight!! Heheheh
We needed 7 more wickets today, although you do not have too many runs so far do you!!
16 Dec 2009, 23:22 pm
Skopskiet – be careful of passing judgement. T’is a heavy cross to bear, felling wrong judgment, especially were you not to appreciate the context and the environment in which the offending words were said.
16 Dec 2009, 23:22 pm
@carol: No, we have. Chatted to you on “the other” blog!
16 Dec 2009, 23:23 pm
@SpringbokSarah: TV shocking again tonight, just men cooking on every ruddy channel!!
So, what do you want to ask John Smit when you meet him tomorrow?
Please be nice to him, I thnk he is a great leader of your Boks!!
16 Dec 2009, 23:23 pm
@WP Till I Die: “T’is” nogal… I swear you belong with Shakespeare, and I do mean that as a compliment
16 Dec 2009, 23:24 pm
@Johan Fourie: We have? Gimmie a clue?
16 Dec 2009, 23:24 pm
@carol: Just using another name there. But this is my real name.
Yip, we scored slow today. Sadly I think we will see a draw; rain might interfere!
16 Dec 2009, 23:26 pm
@carol: mmmm? Will let you know when we meet there again!
16 Dec 2009, 23:26 pm
@carol: Ha ha well men cooking would be a step up from what currently on my tv…
oh no, I intend to be very nice to Smit… I want to know if that’s really his take on passion and what kind of captain disses a fellow player and still wants to represent his country….
I’ve been meaning to ask you…. what’s the time difference between the UK and SA?
16 Dec 2009, 23:27 pm
@SpringbokSarah: Funniest thing was when Dawn greeted WPTID “Morning Mr. Darcy” and he replied “Good Morning Miss Bennett”….
Very funny on a South African Rugby Blog….!!
16 Dec 2009, 23:27 pm
sweet mother of flying *******… was the blog always so hostile and I only noticed recently or did it just become so hostile?
16 Dec 2009, 23:27 pm
@carol: I see Ed is edging you on number of posts?
16 Dec 2009, 23:28 pm
SpringbokSarah, I’m only getting started! Take heed of my admonition to you to hold on to your youthful years, we do not have the luxury of asking for a repeat.
16 Dec 2009, 23:29 pm
@carol: roflmao, no I always have to concentrate extra hard when reading WPTID’s and Skop’s posts
16 Dec 2009, 23:29 pm
@Johan Fourie: What will the ‘signal’ be? Heheheheh
You may have to be quite obvious!!
16 Dec 2009, 23:29 pm
@SpringbokSarah: Since I’ve been here, mostly “undercover hostile”. Till today!
16 Dec 2009, 23:29 pm
It had absolutely sweet f.all to do with this blog site and it still doesn’t. The fact that its been exploded out here in broad soap opera daylight for all and sundry to partake in you can thank Mr big deal Scientist for his brave attempt at trying to teach me a lesson in ego manners. The only one that learned anything here should be him, and if he still hasn’t then he’s thicker and more steeped in rationalized illusion than even I thought .
16 Dec 2009, 23:30 pm
(Now imagine that being delivered in a Highland Scottish accent, and you’re mirroring the sound in me head!)
16 Dec 2009, 23:30 pm
@WP Till I Die: you know, I could die tomorrow… and I would have age and wisdom to enjoy
16 Dec 2009, 23:30 pm
@carol: What about “The Big Ben sure looks beautiful tonight”?
16 Dec 2009, 23:31 pm
@Johan Fourie: Well things have certainly changed since I 1st signed up
16 Dec 2009, 23:32 pm
@SpringbokSarah: We are two hours behind you at the moment, it is very inconvenient!!
When you next see Luke do ask him why he was texting during Percys farewell speech to the players!!
Was it a big offer coming in from Bath!!
16 Dec 2009, 23:33 pm
I’ve never seen a wild thing feel sorry for itself. A bird can fall, frozen, from the bow of a ship, without having once felt sorry for itself.
16 Dec 2009, 23:34 pm
@Johan Fourie: 601 – Puma is up in 3rd place and Ed in 4th, I keep missing Ed, with the time difference!
Big Ben will be unforgettable…!!
16 Dec 2009, 23:34 pm
@SpringbokSarah: …for the worst unfortunatly!
16 Dec 2009, 23:35 pm
@carol: not to worry, I already “shouted”(it was in an email, but there were caps and “!”) at him for that
16 Dec 2009, 23:35 pm
@carol: Yeah, I saw! I’m waaaayyyy behind! Big Ben then!
16 Dec 2009, 23:36 pm
@skopskiet: Skop, chill my old duck…..
16 Dec 2009, 23:36 pm
@WP Till I Die: poor bird
@Johan Fourie: no kidding… all very light-hearted when I joined… and now there are death threats going around
16 Dec 2009, 23:36 pm
@WP Till I Die: GI Jane! CLASSIC!!!
16 Dec 2009, 23:37 pm
@carol: duck
16 Dec 2009, 23:38 pm
@SpringbokSarah: Good girl, keep him on his toes.
How is he enjoying the whole Bath experience, it is a lovely city and has quite a good vibe at weekends?
16 Dec 2009, 23:38 pm
many thanks wptid, your words are noted mate.
skop, i think you need to find your negative energy elswhere man, i will not feed your anger.
good luck. what you throw out will come back to you in spades.
16 Dec 2009, 23:38 pm
@WP Till I Die: “You know the best thing about pain…It tells you you are still alive”
16 Dec 2009, 23:38 pm
the lesson that I’ve learned is to not trust under handed mind riddled rationalists with anything close to ones principles, they’ll stab you in the back with their self righteous attributes of free thinking deception all in the name of open handed skeptical enquiry the two faced double dealing liars. Thats the price one pays for leaving your principles out on your sleeve, don’t be a fool like I am, guard your self preserved principles with the jealousy of a saving miser, don’t ever think others are sincere about gleaning any truth from you because rest assured they are not, the g.dam under hand intellectually advanced riff raff conniving thieves.
16 Dec 2009, 23:39 pm
@carol: “…old duck”?
16 Dec 2009, 23:39 pm
@Johan Fourie: You are in the top 30 then, go on what number so I can peep?
16 Dec 2009, 23:39 pm
@carol: He friggen loves the place
@skopskiet: good grief I hope you’re not talking about me
16 Dec 2009, 23:40 pm
DH Lawrence, actually. The man was a visionary. Do yourselves a favour, read his poem ‘Snake’, written when he was living in Sicily.
16 Dec 2009, 23:42 pm
@WP Till I Die: but it looks so long
16 Dec 2009, 23:42 pm
@SpringbokSarah:
@Johan Fourie:
‘Me old duck’ is an Oxforshire form of address, men will call men or women ‘me old duck’!!
It is a friendly and familiar greeting…..
16 Dec 2009, 23:42 pm
@skopskiet: Honestly man, you remind me of that guy in Forrest Gump, that anti-war activist shouting racial stuff, and all that Forrest wants is his Jenny! Not saying you are saying anything racial now, the situation just reminds me of that scene.
16 Dec 2009, 23:43 pm
@carol: Not even in the top 30!
16 Dec 2009, 23:43 pm
@carol: roflmao and you lot say we talk funny
16 Dec 2009, 23:43 pm
@SpringbokSarah: The winter lasting until next April will test his resolve!!
You may get him back if he loves the sun!
16 Dec 2009, 23:45 pm
@WP Till I Die: I will look that up…..Actually DH Lawrence and Snake sounds as though it could be a bit ‘Lady Chatterley’!! Hahahah
16 Dec 2009, 23:45 pm
ranger boy you don’t know anger from love, nor honor from understanding, nor truth from fiction, nor reality from illusion, if I were you I’d try catch a little cray fish or three and shut the f’ak up about negativity or trust or love or anger, what you still got to learn about such attributes some are ready to put to bed already. You’re a wee baby my boy, when you got lessons to learn then learn them, rather learn to shut yr trap unless its about catching game for biltong.
16 Dec 2009, 23:46 pm
@carol: he loves the rugby, he loves the people… he just goes on and on about how beautiful it is… and I’m saying “take a friggen photo, save it as your wallpaper and get your butt back home” but no, he’s happy… so you know I’ve got to be happy for him, you know?
Anyways I’m out cheers all
16 Dec 2009, 23:47 pm
@rangerman: How is the ‘incubation’ going?
Must be getting close, hope the Landie is filled with fuel and you are ready to jump when necessary!!
16 Dec 2009, 23:48 pm
@SpringbokSarah: cheers!
16 Dec 2009, 23:49 pm
@SpringbokSarah: See you Sarah, happy holidays.
Enjoy being 16….Take the banter here with a pinch of salt, just us adults being infantile.
16 Dec 2009, 23:49 pm
@skopskiet: wow!
how wonderful it must be to be you, have all the answers at your fingertips eh?
again, i have no need to feed your anger buddy. worry a little less about how much i know and a bit more about how much you know skopskiet.
then you may find yorself on track.
good luck.
16 Dec 2009, 23:50 pm
On Pain: I have been thinking about the meaning of pain. Pain is personal. Pain is the only thing we truly own. I like mine. Henry Rollins said that – another doomed youth.
16 Dec 2009, 23:50 pm
@carol:
going very well thank you.
i am, as always, on 24 hr call.
seasons greetings btw.
16 Dec 2009, 23:52 pm
never saw Forest Hump so can’t comment
16 Dec 2009, 23:52 pm
@WP Till I Die: Thats deep! And I’m still at “life is like a box of chocolates”.
16 Dec 2009, 23:53 pm
@skopskiet: Very unfair Skop, Rangerman often pops up with some great observations on human nature and some well timed comments.
What makes you the guardian of honour, trust,truth and understanding….how do you get the monopoly?
I happen to love the ‘Biltong and Bush Tucker’ spots, as do many others!
16 Dec 2009, 23:54 pm
@skopskiet: You should! Very simple, humble guy Forrest! He achieved everything in life without even trying!
16 Dec 2009, 23:56 pm
@SpringbokSarah: do not believe everything that carol says she has selective amnesia. The nasty things her best friends do she never mentions or questions yet she claims have been threatened.
16 Dec 2009, 23:56 pm
@carol: Monopoly? At Wall-Mart!
16 Dec 2009, 23:56 pm
@Johan Fourie: 645 – Probably just where I am too…..
As for pain, I do have some very tight boots that hurt my foot!!
16 Dec 2009, 23:56 pm
What is our life, but a play of passion? Our mirth the music of division. Our mothers’s wombs the tiring-houses be, where we are dressed for this short comedy. Heaven the sharp judicious spectator is, who doth sit and mark still thosr that act amiss. Our graves that hide us from the searching sun, are like drawn curtains when the play is done. Thus, playing, march we to our latest rest. Only we die in earnest, that’s no jest.
16 Dec 2009, 23:57 pm
@carol: thank you carol.
ag, you will probably get a mouthful now.
dont ever let anyone else ringfence you into a discussion dominated by their need to inflict pain, share their angst or prove the validity of their own opinions.
these are doomed discussions.
i have PLENTY of experience of the futility of even embarking on them.
anyway, off to bed. have a lovely evening all.
tjorts.
16 Dec 2009, 23:58 pm
@rangerman: On 24 hour call means a spot of ‘Christmas cheer in a Glass’ is rather rationed!!
Very exciting times for you and Mrs. Ranger….Seasons Greetings to you too.
Fingers crossed for you all in the next few weeks.
16 Dec 2009, 23:59 pm
The only thing you are correct on is the confidence, which i’ve apoligse for and you’ve honed onto like a heat-seaking missile cos you know it bugs me.
For the rest you are actually an arsehole and i can see it clearly when i read your posts, and what you are trying to do, you’re a craggy bitter old ****, i dont know why exactly but i should imagine you will remain that way until the end. in fact, the only that i have learnt is that i can actually be a huge arsehole too when reacting to your comments.
16 Dec 2009, 23:59 pm
@WP Till I Die: Wow! But I still disagree with you Bok backline!
16 Dec 2009, 23:59 pm
Ain’t your buddy ranger boy I’m more concerned about all that wild life you so intent on saving, rather save it instead of eating it, or you also of the far fetched opinion that the good lord granted you dominion over it all to do with it as you please, gorge on it till the sinews and blood oozes out your nostrils. Like I tried to tell you, when you in the position of advice giving then give it, otherwise do what you know how to like set traps for cray fish and lobster at the bottom of the ocean you know those scavengers that eat all the **** off the ocean floor which makes them all the more succulent inside your enlightened palate.
17 Dec 2009, 00:00 am
@rangerman: Good night!
17 Dec 2009, 00:02 am
@WP Till I Die: that’s depressing WPTID, it’s Christmas man, come on!
17 Dec 2009, 00:03 am
Anyway….So what did you think of the Invictus Movie?
What position should Smittie play next year?
Will the Lions flourish in the Super 14?
Just how **** is NH rugby?
17 Dec 2009, 00:04 am
Thats it for me too! Peace everyone!
17 Dec 2009, 00:05 am
@skopskiet:
now that is just plain silly.
i know how your type operates though skopskiet. i really think you are a bit of an amateur compared to some of the people i have dealt with my buddy.
you are my crayfish tonight. i have boiled you until you are red (get the metaphor?).
now i really must go. have a pleasant evening swearing and carrying on at nameless, faceless individuals on a rugby blog mate.
tjorts.
17 Dec 2009, 00:05 am
@carol:
1) Haven’t seen it yet
2) Hooker
3) No
4) Not bad at all!
17 Dec 2009, 00:05 am
@Johan Fourie: cheers man.
17 Dec 2009, 00:06 am
That DH Lawrence or George Bernard Shaw?
Listen to those who have ears to hear with and eyes to see with. Rather listen to them. The closed minded intellectually deluded dead end sad farts of reason don’t know sweet f.all about anything, nothing at all, but they’ll natter on about knowing nothing around and around and around in circles they’ll still try convince themselves that reality is couched within their own deluded unrealized thoughts.
17 Dec 2009, 00:06 am
@WP Till I Die: Was that Shakespeare? Went past the RSC in Stratford on Avon on Saturday….Being refurbished, should be worth a visit when completed.
Now even I can cope with Shakespeare when done by the RSC.
17 Dec 2009, 00:07 am
just back from watching Invictus…..Madiba the HERO…..damn we are so lucky to have had that man…..gooseflesh i tell you…..

17 Dec 2009, 00:07 am
Skopskiet – do not speak in anger. You are doing yourself a disservice. At the moment you are a bit like Miguel de Cervantes’s Don Quixote, charging at windmills. For a lack of eloquence – this is not you. The bugles cease now – we are at peace now – far from those hills of Tyrol.
17 Dec 2009, 00:07 am
@Johan Fourie: Are you off? Big Ben it is!!
Go on, give me a clue????

Please never let racism raise its head again……ever.
17 Dec 2009, 00:11 am
It is not Shakespeare, it is Sir Walter Raleigh. Wrongfully imprisoned – lost his head, too. So many do that nowadays, albeit not in the literal sense…
17 Dec 2009, 00:12 am
@grant10: WRS says, ask Grant how the Cape Town stadium is looking now and is it nearly finnished yet?

17 Dec 2009, 00:17 am
Honestly guys (and gal) life’s too short. Just spoke to some snot-nosed kids fresh out of Afghanistan – they lost mates. Honestly, savour life, swallow each beautiful God-given breath of life like it’s your last.
17 Dec 2009, 00:18 am
yeah Wptid I’ve been likened to Don Quixote before but to be truly honest with you this fritting away of resources on these dead end blog sites, whether mental or psychic or spiritual energy, let alone precious time and gigabytes is totally a stupid thing for any human animal to do. I should seriously learn to extricate myself from such useless and frivolous non productive pastimes that amount to absolutely sweet fanny f’all. In more ways than one.
17 Dec 2009, 00:18 am
@Johan Fourie: I have just done some ‘Sluething’…We are mutual friends of ‘Man with Fish’ and ‘Green Giant’!!
17 Dec 2009, 00:18 am
@grant10: Disagree. He will peak in 2011. Perhaps our most valuable bench player. 4 – 8.
17 Dec 2009, 00:19 am
The Miracle that is South Africa.
Yeah right…
SA is the most corrupt country, highest murder per capita and the needy gets more needy while the crime is still climbing.
But Hey, we cherish Politicians that sells us a BS story and we are supposed to be so lucky that we can be part of this miracle.
Pathetic
17 Dec 2009, 00:19 am

17 Dec 2009, 00:24 am
@grant10: Night Grant, say Hi to Blonde from WRS and I….
17 Dec 2009, 00:24 am
Just my small opinion before I go to sleep. Anyone who claims they have known true love will also know that it goes hand in hand with true forgiveness and the ability to overlook deficiencies in the light of the expectations,images and prejudices we so often carry around with us. The inability to forgive will always diminish the ability to love because none of us are perfect and we cannot expect perfection of another.
17 Dec 2009, 00:25 am
@skopskiet:
Like a crayfish in a pot, getting all hot and red and spewing forth a spray of spittle and vile………..thats our skoppie writting BS essays on his keyboard whilst trying to keep a semblance of sanity……..eish!
17 Dec 2009, 00:25 am
@Johan Fourie: OK Facebook!
“Babysigns”, mmmmmm – not me!
17 Dec 2009, 00:26 am
Thats it for me. G’night all!
17 Dec 2009, 00:26 am
We can choose to turn a blind eye to all the serious problems, but i bet the countless hungry kids do not give a ratz *** about Mandela or the Big soccer stadia they will probably never see.
17 Dec 2009, 00:27 am
If only we can float…like cherry blossoms in the fall…so sweet and pure. A poor translation of a young ‘divine wind’ (kamikaze) pilot’s last diary entry.
17 Dec 2009, 00:27 am
@bananaboy: Very excellent post from Holland there…
Nice to have a balance of views here…..Ying and Yang and all that!
17 Dec 2009, 00:29 am
that is correct bananaboy it is far better to know forgiveness than to know righteousness, but its also better for love to be earned than to be treated like candy from a corner grocery store. True love ain’t cheap and should never be treated or traded as such. No one quite realizes what true love actually is till they’ve experienced it even a little bit.
17 Dec 2009, 00:30 am
Night Chaps….been ‘interesting’!!
17 Dec 2009, 00:31 am

much appreciated mr ranger.
17 Dec 2009, 00:33 am
Does true love even exist? Only he who does not love himself can truly love unconditionally – and we love ourselves too much
17 Dec 2009, 00:35 am
@cab: I always come back because there are some very good people here. Like you, Ranger and the Yak Skiier.
Now fkn calm down.
Apology given. You’ve done your bit.
17 Dec 2009, 00:35 am

17 Dec 2009, 00:36 am
Mais bien sur, cab. Bon nuit, a bientot, j’espere.

@Slappes: Matrix IV – The Truth Seekers Vs The Scientists
17 Dec 2009, 10:57 am
skopskiet
If its for me only, why not email me. Come on, we sort something out, i;ve had enough.
17 Dec 2009, 11:22 am
yeah you had my private email all along but you were looking to make it into a public spectacle out here in a public forum publishing my personal private principles which were given you in a confidential private setting under pretty supposed honorable agreed conditions, so now you got what you were after, you dragged the entire keo blog site into this private issue trying to teach me a lesson or something or other, meantime its your mind that is looking for answers not mine. So you want to challenge yourself out here in public using me and my principles as your personal sounding board go ahead try it again.
You looking for forgiveness then look for it where you might find it, or you really think you going to get it out here? Like you think you going to discover reality on word filled empty headed blog sites that spew mind filled indoctrinated word upon word and concept upon concept of self righteous trash all day long.
17 Dec 2009, 11:28 am
Guys. This is ridiculous.
17 Dec 2009, 12:11 pm
I suggest a fight to the death…. with your walking sticks…
17 Dec 2009, 12:19 pm
moer maar vir mekaar.
about time the insulting old creep got his comeuppance.
hitler also had a few valid points, as did mugabe, but the truth was distilled by the madness that characterised the rest of the diatribe.
too bad, so sad.
17 Dec 2009, 14:07 pm
no i never was looking to make anything into a public spectacle, and i suspect you know that too.
which confidences have I revealed? where?
You have my email and we can take this further as you want.
17 Dec 2009, 16:49 pm
ha, go back along this thread and show me how you were avoiding a public fallout in broad daylight. You wanted to challenge me on anything private how come you dragged it out here you two faced punk *** underhand coward. You got my address, anytime, you little snake in the grass second grade closed minded chicken, I’m right here. Go right back along the cause of this issue and try absolve yourself of your blatant abuse of private disclosed principles in a private setting far away from this place, you second grade slithering snake eyed conniving creep.
17 Dec 2009, 17:14 pm
look i’m not going thru a whole stupid soap opera rigma role with you, i have no intention of making anything public, as such this is my last comment, you know where to reach me if you want to.
Done.
17 Dec 2009, 17:15 pm
Should mental patients really be allowed internet access?
17 Dec 2009, 17:22 pm
@cab: How you ever got ensnared in this madness I will never know.
Absinthe or a major solar flare. That’s my only explanation.
Now laugh it off.
17 Dec 2009, 17:35 pm
@skopskiet: @cab: Look guys, I know this is non of my business, so I’ll keep it short. From all the above I take it that non of you have ***** in your lives. That is fine, we all live our own lives. But as a Christian I feel obliged to say this to you. ***** died for your sins, for you Cab, and for you Skopskiet. He knew you 2000 years ago. He loves both of you, you are His children, so that makes you brothers. Nothing good can come from this way of behaviour. Or, let me rephrase that; humanly, nothing good can come from this, but spiritually God can intervene and produce spectacular, beautiful things. How did you guys sleep last night? Did you have peace in your hearts? Or were you thinking hateful thoughts about each other, and what to say next.
Please guys, life is short. Enjoy it! Have love in your hearts. When you get upset, think about the real important things in life! Be patient, be kind, and have nothing but love and understanding.
As much as I respect your opinions on this, I ask of you to respect mine. I know this is not the platform for my viewpoints, so this is the last you will hear on this subject from me.
Lets just talk about the one thing we all enjoy: Rugby. And should we not agree with each other, let’s respect that too.
17 Dec 2009, 17:41 pm
I think I might have just opened a can of “whip-***” on myself!
17 Dec 2009, 17:57 pm
@Johan Fourie: No ****. You’re talking to teh 2 biggest agnostics on Keo.
17 Dec 2009, 17:59 pm
Contrary to what most here will think there is no ill will from me towards cab on a personal level, however that does not detract from a sanctified principle of agreement that certain personal and private information was to be kept as such. So the apparent seething hatred you think you are seeing is the anger addressed at the effect of the issue and the breakdown of a qualified principle of a personal private agreement that has been broken. If cab wants to address me privately if at all he wants some closure on this issue he knows where to find me. But I’m not going one whisker out my way for that double dealing coward again. If he’s looking for any reprieve or closure here he has the means by which to address it. Again if his arrogance or cowardice or both is standing in his way, thats his own problem, not mine.
17 Dec 2009, 18:06 pm
@skopskiet: Honestly Skopskiet, you should have dealt with this differently. No one even realy knows what this is about (at least I don’d). All I know is that some very nasty things have been said. But it can all be fixed!
17 Dec 2009, 18:10 pm
Agnostics can’t commit.
17 Dec 2009, 18:12 pm
@SodaJoe: Not trying to “convert” anyone here. We all have our own journey.
17 Dec 2009, 18:14 pm
Have to go now! Chat to you guys later! Rugby chat I hope!
17 Dec 2009, 18:18 pm
Johan I know you are meaning very well and it is highly noble of you to try and soothe the flames of a destructive antithesis that has arisen between 2 individuals, but those two individuals are responsible for their own actions or responses towards each other. The Christian principle of turn the other cheek and forgive and forget is perhaps the ultimate ideal that humans should try aspire to, but there is a little more to some underlying issues that is plainly visible to most on the surface. This relates to personal trust on a reasonably deep seated personal level, so where a war of affliction is required to set out the parameters by which such principles get measured or upheld, perhaps it is such that these lines need to get drawn in the sand in order that those thinking that private and reasonably sacred information is not abused in such flagrant manner again.
The pity of it really is that the level of appreciation by some people for information that they themselves were delving for and seeking by theiown inquisitive mind is downright pure and dispicably lacking, they can never really begin to realize nor understand to what extent such confidence is readily offered, and if they are so deaf and dumb and blind to simple truths such as these then they have no right nor no place for any such appreciation by anyone let alone life at large.
17 Dec 2009, 19:51 pm
@skopskiet: Yes, I know you know that I mean well. I understand that you feel hurt and betrayed, but I’m sure Cab feels the same. It is never easy to fully understand where someone else is coming from. Sure, perhaps Cab did make a mistake, but hey, we all do! I’ve made some huge mistakes in my life which have caused much hurt, not only to other people, but to myself as well. I’ve said some bad things, and some bad things have been said to me. But there comes a time to forgive and move on. Personalities clash from time to time, and it is how we deal with that that will eventually determine how we move on in life. There are a number of ways to handle situations like this. One can get upset, retaliate, and say hurtfull and nasty things, or one can sincerely express one’s disaproval. The latter is always the best.
All us humans are basically the same, with the same basic needs. Humans have the need to be loved and to love, to be respected and to respect. We all just want to be happy! One day, on your dying bed, how much do you think this little battle would have influenced your life? It is nothing! It is silly, it has no influence what so ever on your life! It is like that guy who punched me on the nose in grade 2. At the time it was the biggest thing in my life, but today I laugh about it. Saw him the other day. What a great guy!
Christian principles are not easy. Doing the right thing has never been easy. But in the end, looking back, one realise that doing the right thing, despite the fact that it can be humiliating and hurtful at the time, is always the best to do.
17 Dec 2009, 19:51 pm
Skopskiet is about to ooze about the bevy of beauties on Top Billing.
The usual racist stuff of how the black girls is knocking spots of thw white girls???
17 Dec 2009, 20:06 pm
Karoolander, why do you bring race into your posts? Why can you not accept anothers choices, even if you disagree with it. I think you are immature.
17 Dec 2009, 20:38 pm
Yes Johan this little nonentity skirmish means absolutely nothing one way or the other. It actually has very little to do with anything vaguely important either here or anywhere else. The issue is simply a lack of reverence or understanding for certain realities or principles in life that certain dumb *** numb skull idiots who believe they have a handle of rational understanding about certain aspects of this human existence yet have none at all. Scientific or rational or otherwise. You over state my so called hurt, I am hardly hurt, just emphatically angry at the sheer lack of appreciation and lack of understanding and lack of knowledge which leads these dumb struck idiot fools to believe in their atheistic or scientific notions that their blindness categorises the blindness of all humanity. The basic bottom line of the entire exercise is simply this, don’t ever get duped by these cold calculating heartless dead beat self centered trash eaters who feign sincerity while back at the ranch they couldn’t be less sincere or earnest or honest with you or with themselves if they tried. They are the biggest bull sh’ting deceiving lying under hand creeps under the sun, and its all put out as some kind of line of reasoning that they are indeed open minded but back at the ranch believe me they are the most despicable closed minded deceiving self infatuated fools ever born. I understand your well meaning in trying to get me to embrace your Christian principles, you really don’t need to fret or concern yourself in my direction at all, I’m pretty well taken care of even though from the outset to most on here it may seem to you totally the opposite, believe my I’m ok in spite of what others may think, if anything I’d suggest that they should seriously consider themselves, and that goes specifically to those who so honestly believe that they are the high up standing models of human virtue from whichever standpoint, religious, moral, rational or otherwise.
17 Dec 2009, 20:49 pm
Amen Skop.
17 Dec 2009, 20:50 pm
And yes Karoolander just for you I have to endorse it once again the black girls on that show were far more naturally beautiful than any of those white girls without any shadow of any doubt whatsoever, but unfortunate racially or ethnically motivated blind fools such as you would never ever be able to notice it.
17 Dec 2009, 20:55 pm
@skopskiet: So you are racist to white girls then.
Just funny how dark girls want to look like white girls. Straightening hair and to be slim.
I didn`t see any natural girls. They all look westernised to me.
African girls is naturally big bottomed and definately no long straight hair.
Heh?
17 Dec 2009, 21:32 pm
Thanks slappes its time I gave up on this one man crusade of sticking my contrary head inside this non evolving lions den. Its better for me and for all concerned that I stop feeding the controversy and become all Pc and docile and accepting of the average status quo. Girls are girls mostly beautiful some more so than others and usually its the more natural who present more of their beauty to the world. I guess its asking a bit much for pre conditioned prejudice to ever recognize true natural beauty for what it is, color hardly comes into it far as I can see, it simply depends what ones eyes can or cannot see depending on what stimulus the brain feeds out.. Time I get the hell out this shadow show of illusion. Gone.
17 Dec 2009, 21:48 pm
Skop, if you disappear from here I will forward your email addie to Jake White explaining your admiration of his coaching.
17 Dec 2009, 21:56 pm
@Slappes: you are very funny slappes.
sjopskiet, you are the biggest purveyor of snake oil on keo and your sanctimonious diatribes are always rooted in your belief in your own righteousness.
it is sad that a real person, a real HUMAN BEING like cab, may be lost to the rest of us because of a bitter and twisted old fool like you.
sad.
17 Dec 2009, 22:02 pm

@skopskiet: so you have no problem with cab as a person just an issue with a broken agreement, he did apologise for that and Johan is right when he says everyone makes mistakes, so hopefully you two can come to terms.
17 Dec 2009, 23:04 pm
Gunther,

Life will change forever soon.
17 Dec 2009, 23:23 pm

18 Dec 2009, 00:49 am
Ranger, Joe, Johan
Your comments are very much appreciated, but I am not interested in who is real or not, or a polemic battle of the truth seekers (whatever the hell that is) versus scientists (those evil ******** who’ve started all the wars).
Reality is a funny thing which can be twisted and turned by all sorts of minds and psychologies. Emotions tend to skew reality. Never more so true in a country like SA, which is nurtured from the cradle on rhetoric, emotion and faith.
I believe there are two types of realies, a subjective reality and an objective reality. Ou Doos tends to the former, i too the latter. Bottomline, I find him narrowminded and intolerant, and no doubt the feeling is mutual so the pattern of fighting will continue.
But to be honest, its xmas and i;m sick of all the ****** skop, skiet and donner. Let keo start the new year with some fresh blood coming through rather than all these massive egos.
18 Dec 2009, 01:17 am
Ranger, Joe, Johan
Your comments are very much appreciated, but I am not interested in who is real or not, or another skop, skiet and donner polemic of the truth seekers (whatever the hell that is) versus scientists (those evil ******** who’ve started all the wars).
The blogosphere is a virtual reality with allsorts of virtual idenities and realities created, which I suspect are very different in many respects from most on here with only glimpses being seen of real personalities. That is part of the game and i suspect everyone knows what really counts is our behaviour to those nearest and dearest to us in reality, as opposed to virtual reality.
But more generally, i believe there are two types of realities, a subjective reality and an objective reality. He tends to the former, I too the latter. I tend to the latter because i believe we each have our own subjective realities which are skewed by our own personal conditioning and emotions. Reality can be twisted and turned by all sorts of minds and psychologies. Emotions tend to skew reality. Never more so than in a country like SA, where most are nurtured from the cradle on rhetoric, emotion and faith.
If its truth we’re after, i want it warts and all, he wants beauty. I dont want the emotion to overwhelm the truth, he’ll call it cold reasoning. These are fundamental differences in outlook. Bottomline, I find him narrowminded and intolerant, and no doubt the feeling is mutual so the pattern of fighting will continue.
But to be honest, i;m just tired of all the skop, skiet and donner. Time for new things.

“you doos *** idiotic twat *** ignoramus”.
Amazingly grown up.
Jeepers.
And Skops there I thought that you had gone in a “puff of white dust”. That retirement was short lived, and your return …. well let’s let it rest.
But the guys you malign have been amongst the most tolerant of you.
But seriously who really cares?
18 Dec 2009, 01:29 am
@cab: Cab. I know what you mean. And if you go I understand. It has become tiresome, the vitriol, ignorance and lack of common decency & manners is just boring now (sad in itself).
But I like to hang out with you and Gunther, Robbie, Grant, WPTID, etc, etc. So I come back, and truthfully on rarely read the bollocks from the bullshitters. I just scroll.
The thing I don’t like now most of all is most of the bloggers know fokkol and care fokkol about rugby. Which is why I came here in the first place.
And why you enter the interminable debates is beyond me, but I suspect you like relaxing through discourse and absinthe, so ..
If you bugger off let me know how to get hold of you.
18 Dec 2009, 01:47 am
@SodaJoe:
No look i think its appealing to the majority actually, he should be paid by keo, but its not my default setting, and thats fine.
Skoppie is the ppl’s champion, the loveable mad-arse, good luck to him, i’ve found him very amusing. But the place is becoming embroiled in emotion, stupid emotion, alot of it probably necessary as part of the healing process, its a good thing and i am happy its been hijacked by the left rather than the right. The only thing is the right knows their rugby, the left have no farking clue. But one is farting against thunder when the mob rules, but personally i find it very hard to fight against the left even when i think they totally mad-arse deluded.
I enter the debates cos i find it fascinating how someone can arrive at certain conclusions, which i often happen to agree with, from such a very different approach and that is what i try to understand.
Its a very precarious balance one needs to achieve.
18 Dec 2009, 01:51 am
Soda,
Yes, time for a change, the blogging is addictive, but this has run its course. If you let me know your email, we keep in touch.
All the best my friend.
18 Dec 2009, 02:24 am
@skopskiet:
lol
That is one funny post
18 Dec 2009, 02:57 am
@Hurricane: command of his own language. “doos *** delinquent goody two shoes schmuck *** mommy’s boy”
Honestly. I am at a loss, this is the work of …..?
18 Dec 2009, 03:11 am
@carol: was watching the Wasps game, mind you, Gavin and Stacey might’ve been more entertaining (not really
)
@skopskiet: no probs skop, I always have time for people who are strong enough to say what they really think independently, there’s no point blogging at all if it’s just to go with the flow or blindly support a clique (sadly often political) like many do, or used to.
@cab: I think we all need a break from the blogosphere from time to time cab, but I don’t think you should leave entirely (if that’s what you’re saying). I know it’s the off-season for SA rugby just now and there isn’t much going on but be sure to blog when the rugby heats up again. For all it’s faults keo is actually mostly good banter/laughs when the games are on.
18 Dec 2009, 03:12 am

You not in search of truth you dumb fick deluded twat, warts n all, you in search of your own highfalutin brand of schmoozing self righteous watered down ivory tower soft soap syrupy rationality and the sound of your own indoctrinated brain ticking away in unison with your Newtonian laws of gravity. If you were in any way sincere about locating truth it would have smacked you flat in the face long time back already, god knows how much opportunity already bestowed on your dumb fe.ck deluded donkey brain. . . And yes soda shmoe I been intending to vacate this place for a little while, simply popped in the other evening for a little light shmoe banter as you wartless fiends are somewhat prone to do, when your warts n all pal here became intent on extricating some warts n all vengeance of rectitude he couldn’t quite get his dumb deluded Darwinian mind around that transpired far away from these innocent little self evaluating shores. So he got it, warts n all, and what you tasting now is the aftermath of this warts n all bubble bath. . . So moral of the story if you so intent on not wanting warts n all truth shoved down your gullible throat, then stop calling me back here again n again. For your own sake and for your rugby loving compatriots. . . Lets hope this is the last time we got to go through this delusionary shenanigan.
18 Dec 2009, 15:09 pm
@skopskiet: Come back. Don’t go. Your unintelligible muse has always been talismanic. Now it’s an exercise in a written version of a Jackson Pollock painting.
It’s become art.
Someone should get the binary code and publish it so we can see it visually.
22 Dec 2009, 17:42 pm
Wow! Looks like I’ve arrived just in time to see the site disintegrate upon itself…the final days. People threatening to leave left, right and centre here.
22 Dec 2009, 19:26 pm
Yetirat, bloggers have threatened to leave before only to return the next day. Others have left, only to return under new nics. See a pattern here?
22 Dec 2009, 19:37 pm
@skopskiet: I dont have warts but I like your talk, you’re a sexy one!
22 Dec 2009, 19:40 pm
@Porto: Looks like, now that the objective rugby people have left and formed their own closed site, the racist brownies are falling apart, thats a pity they were so much fun. Sean, bring the boys back! Valkyrie, where are you when I need you my girl!
22 Dec 2009, 19:42 pm
@SodaJoe: Deep, very deep.
22 Dec 2009, 20:00 pm
@Yetirat: this happened a few days ago Yetirat, pretty much everyone involved has been posting since, I think keo bumped it to the top for the end of the year. Ugly thread though I agree.
22 Dec 2009, 20:07 pm
i also don’t understand why this thread has been brought back up…
22 Dec 2009, 20:12 pm
795. Pearl Rose : Hits
People like the moron Skopskiet while deluded ideas of intellectual grandeur really get the rest worked up and the hits just keep on coming.
22 Dec 2009, 20:28 pm
Morning guys
Yes the boys did very well this year and should be proud
I am am very proud to be a springbok supporter
22 Dec 2009, 20:35 pm
I would like to see some changes in the laws for the new year.
1. Limit the ping pong kicking game. Not sure how
Maybe limit one kick each then they have to run the ball.
2. If kick at goal is missed, then defending team can ask for scrum form the mark where kick was taken.
3. Yellow card for any player who dives on opposition player who has just scored a try.
4. Off sides where player plays the ball close to his team mate but from an offside position. It should only be accidental offsides and no penalty
22 Dec 2009, 20:57 pm
@skopskiet:
You are a stupid boy, spouting your sanctimomious “I’m a darkie with a chip on my shoulder” crud.
It’s brothers like you that make brothers like me look good. Please go and play in the traffic for a few hours. Tell us how many taxis tried to run you down.
Go along, be a good boy..boy.
22 Dec 2009, 22:14 pm
@cab: 780 – Cabbie, Hope you read this mate. This is a old thread so not sure why it is put up again. Never read most of this thread actually, just came on to see what is going on here at keo and noticed you saying you going to quit here. Cabbie you are one of my favourite posters here along with a few others. Just blog with us in the New Year when the rugby comes back. Do like me mate and just ignore the trouble makers. I mostly just scroll down and only read the posters post I want to read.
Enjoy the festive season Cabbie. Hope to see you back here when the rugga is back.
22 Dec 2009, 22:45 pm
My,my,my, Kickshoot, you are a complete misery. What a negative chip you have. You are the dullest grandpa on planet earth. Many have left this blog because of you. Some went to the other rugby blog and some just left Keo altogether because you are the most opinionated egotist around. You are heavy going and have no sense of humour. How sad?
22 Dec 2009, 23:27 pm
@Big Hit:
Yes, definitely a little too ugly for an innocent rugby supporter such as myself. This is what happens when the season ends…people start to lose their minds and make all sorts of crazy threats.
22 Dec 2009, 23:28 pm
@Slappes:
No one can resist the lure of the daily soapy that is keo.co.za
22 Dec 2009, 23:49 pm
@skopskiet:
lol
Skop,dont go.You are one of the most interesting characters on here,interesting in a good way as well.
23 Dec 2009, 00:14 am
Don’t know what the purpose of bumping this thread up to the top of the front page is other than to rub some noses in their own ****, namely my own. I apologised once before to the general keo.co.za public for having been exposed to this fall out between 2 supposedly adult individuals out here on an innocent rugby site, and I’m apologishog again. This ugly war of words and diametrically opposed views should never have erupted out on this site, but it did, for better or for worse the dirty linen got aired out in public and the damage done. So for that you have my unreserved apologies for my part in the fiasco. I had already intended to participate less here before it happened and pity I didn’t heed my own conviction when the philosophically couched challenges took place and the consequential responses erupted. This was a personal and private altercation that should never have erupted or been exposed out in an open public forum such as this. However it did. Such are the consequences of airing personal views in public. Perhaps there’s a lesson out here for others as a result. Happy blogging. Leave your stepping stones behind something calls for you, forget the dead you left they will not follow you. Strike another match, go start anew.
23 Dec 2009, 00:43 am
@skopskiet: think they just wanted the ‘A Nation of Champions’ to be the top headline over Christmas and the New Year. I could be wrong but I doubt they read too many comments.
23 Dec 2009, 00:44 am
@skopskiet:
Aggg…happens to the best of us dude.
The important thing here is we all love rugby and the majority of bloggers on this site love the Springboks. As long as we can all accept that many of us will have differing views, we can for the most part, enjoy each others’ company and the discussions that take place as a result.
23 Dec 2009, 00:46 am
@Big Hit:
I’m sitting in your homeland freezing my nads off by the way. It’s been snowing intermittently the entire week! The snow is now frozen and the roads are like ice-rinks!
23 Dec 2009, 01:04 am
@Yetirat: tell me about it, still can’t beat a white Christmas though, built a huge snowman yesterday.
23 Dec 2009, 01:08 am
@skopskiet:
Hey Skop, you and I have had a few run-in’s, but at the end of the day most of the stuff on here you gotta take with a pinch of salt. For me it’s a laugh and a stress release with some rugger thrown in for good measure. Don’t take it too seriously.
)and your classic rants were missed! Stick around bud.
You left before (although not sure if it was self imposed?
23 Dec 2009, 01:21 am
@Big Hit:
Still got to sample a good ol white Christmas one day! Have a good one BH.
23 Dec 2009, 03:18 am
@skopskiet:
Kickshoot, you demand so much attention for yourself and you have very bad people skills. This blog is not about you and your righteous anger and your consistent need to have others conform to your truth. In essence, you don’t share, you ram your garbage down out throats. The archetype of the dictator is strong in you. You refuse to see your own lesson on the matter. You lack self respect. You don’t know who reads this blog. You treat this blog as your free therapy session.
You like to set yourself up as the one that few understand, the outsider, but even that “pose” comes from a very egotistical, self indulgent and self important view of who you think you are.
You will never leave Keo. Don’t fool us. You are addicted to this blog. It is your drug, your fix, your mainstay. You have no idea that less is in fact more. You don’t get it. You are mainlining on Keo. The Skopskiet Show. You just can’t see it. So deep is your denial.
You have to be at war constantly needing to “prove something”. It’s so tiring and immature. It’s pathetic.
So now you will come back guns blazing, justifying this and that. Good luck to you but sometimes you should see that life is to be lived.
23 Dec 2009, 05:35 am
Kick-shooter, dip stick, what you know and what you think you know are two distinct opposites, basically I’m telling you that you don’t know all that much at all. So Mr Psychoanalyst, rather you psychoanalyse yourself, you’d be achieving far more for your own well being than trying to analyse me and getting it all totally wrong in the process. You wouldn’t and couldn’t know the beginning or the end of the tale so give it up as a poor effort at psychoanalysis, you might very well turn your attention on yourself and you might gain something out of it, concerning yourself with me gains you absolutely sweet f’all, or didn’t they teach you that much at psycho school?
23 Dec 2009, 07:45 am
THIS JUST IN, BAKKIES BOTHA IS TO SIGN FOR IRISH CLUB ULSTER NEXT YEAR FOR A 1 SEASON. I look forward to seeing him in the Magners next year.
23 Dec 2009, 08:09 am
@jockstrap: more detail boet…please.
23 Dec 2009, 08:23 am
judging by some of the posts on this thread and this site in general, the headline might more rightly read ” A NATION OF W@NKERS”
23 Dec 2009, 08:29 am
@the peanut gallery: LOL
23 Dec 2009, 08:35 am
Jeez…. I see everybody realy caught on to the festive spirit…
23 Dec 2009, 08:42 am
@Blouste: LOL, you’re right there’s a lot of love in here……..self love that is.
Ag it’s just another day on Keo…….sometimes entertaining, sometimes chaotic but it’s all fun. I wouldn’t have it any other way. That’s why I live in Joburg.
23 Dec 2009, 08:51 am
they say all fair in love & war mos…good morning to all…
23 Dec 2009, 08:54 am
I must admit… I aleays wonder how these people’s conversations will go when say everybody are together at a braai…
I bet you alot less hostile… he he he.
Easy to blow your trumpet on a blog though…
23 Dec 2009, 08:57 am
Cab,never has truer words been spoken on this site…
“its been hijacked by the left rather than the right. The only thing is the right knows their rugby, the left have no farking clue.”
truth be told, only 2 people need to be shown the door on this site. Not because of their often skewed views in my opinion, this is after a blog for everyone with an opinion… with freedom of speech at its very core.
but because of their foul mouths and absolute hatered of anyone not conforming to their opinions.
hate speech is against the law in this country so i am lead to believe.
23 Dec 2009, 09:01 am
@Brigadier Van Zyl:
Brigadier as a freedom fighter I defy your views.
Do not instigate the party elite into a war. We will not tolerate such thinking. Big brother is watching you stupid boy.
23 Dec 2009, 09:06 am
@Malema: the transparent cowardly senior runner at it again….always looking to stoke up racial hatred…..shame on you .
23 Dec 2009, 09:07 am
What a year. It wasn’t always pretty, not always easy but bloody exciting! Imagine the expectation for next year..
23 Dec 2009, 09:08 am
@grant10:
I am deeply offended at your words. I’m walking out now.
23 Dec 2009, 09:13 am
@Brigadier Van Zyl: Skop must go nowhere. He adds to this blog.
As for the left high jacking the blog, rubbish! When I started blogging here it was like being in the heart of the AWB camp, with no rugby being discussed. Check RT for back slapping and braai recipes for proof. No rugga. So please! The sad part is that you see left and right bloggers. Not just bloggers period.
And talking about foul language. Your so called Right wing bloggers were the one’s that changed their nick to “skop skiet is a doos” and I myself have been subjected to the most disgusting things. Hands down. Filthy language goes to your so-called right wing bloggers.
You forgot the times when those same blogger used to threaten peoples jobs and threaten the moderator to ban certain people whose views they did not agree with. In addition, they called themselves the senior bloggers and would e-mail Roy privately about whom is next on their list. I even received private e-mails when I had never given the said blogger my information.
So. These days, everyone has a view and it can be expressed. No bans and no bullshit, no personal threats. If you cannot hack it in the argument, then you don’t get to threaten the moderator, or fellow bloggers.
I think it’s great that you only have drama with two bloggers that you feel ought to go. When I blogged here I could list far more, and believe me I’ve been subjected to real filth here.
Keo is a better place than it was, trust me. And the real garbage left and went to the RT.
23 Dec 2009, 09:14 am
@Malema: i wish you would….but like the coward you are you will be back to stoke up the hatred….its just the way you are wired. I have 1 quetion….if you hate your country and your fellow countrymen so much…..if you hate this site so much….why dont you stay living outside of SA and stay on your new site?
It is strange that you feel fit to have to pop in here under all those nics? Are you a bit of a nutter??
23 Dec 2009, 09:17 am
@rossoneri: i agree 100% with those sentiments…..
23 Dec 2009, 09:19 am
@grant10:
I will not talk to you brother. You have the rage in your soul.
23 Dec 2009, 09:20 am
@Malema: for the likes of you i have nothing but pity…..and a sense of shame that we are both saffas….
23 Dec 2009, 09:25 am
I am a proud Azanian freedom fighter.
23 Dec 2009, 09:25 am
@grant10: I know you’ve had your fair share here Grant. Good on you for keeping your head high and sticking around.
You used to think I was a perpetually angry blogger, but the place has finally became an open forum for discussion, not that rigged rubbish it was. I love the fact that I will not agree with some bloggers, and can express my views freely.
23 Dec 2009, 09:30 am
@rossoneri:
The party elite will not stand for this ill discipline.
23 Dec 2009, 09:33 am
@rossoneri:
Keo.co.za is certainly not “a better place”.
it may have a larger audience….but that just translates to more idiots in my opinion.
long gone of the legendary debates of 2003/2004 with Rasputin,Redrum,Henry,Cab,etal.
the bloggers that went to Rugbytalk….they certainly were not “senior bloggers” in the greater scheme.
And believe me, the filthy mouths, they are predominately far left. (and as an a-side, you can get daily evidence from the real Julius Malema)….You just point out 1 person spewing more foul mouth name calling and hatred on a daily bais than you-know-who.(and his chommy who shows up later)
23 Dec 2009, 09:39 am
@rossoneri: Exactly…..and i commend you for the struggle and victory you fought so hard for…..
The day the ‘new ‘ site was originated was testimony to the validity of the fact that a refusal to accept racism at any level is the only way to go…..and your continued exposing of the sickness on this site proved too much for the right wingers…..i am eternally grateful!
23 Dec 2009, 09:39 am
@Brigadier Van Zyl:
I agree 100 %
23 Dec 2009, 09:39 am
@Brigadier Van Zyl: left/ right/middle centre whatever you want to call it. it was referred to as keo night owls and all it was, was a geriatrics flirting session with carol being the centre of attraction receiving xoxo into the still of the night. I don’t know how much rugby that was
what yourself and cab need to remember is that, there was a keo.co.za before the rt defectors logged on and there is still one now after their exodus!
The problems arose when they started when people like yourself started complimenting them on their astute rugby knowledge and all of a sudden they saw themselves as incomparable rugby fundis when infact they are nothing but people with opinions.
23 Dec 2009, 09:40 am
@Brigadier Van Zyl:
)….You just point out 1 person spewing more foul mouth name calling and hatred on a daily bais than you-know-who.(and his chommy who shows up later)
“Qui ignorabat, ignorabitur”
23 Dec 2009, 09:42 am
@Pearl Rose:
My sentiments exactly. I was banned from there for calling them a lonely hearts club.
23 Dec 2009, 09:45 am
All i see is spoilt righteous little brats on this site. Why the constant mud slinging to the other site?
This is exactly how children behave.When one child get to do something and the other not, toys being thrown out the cot.
23 Dec 2009, 09:47 am
@grant10: Grow up little man
23 Dec 2009, 09:49 am
I shall depart now. There is a meeting today in Polokwane and I have to oversee a bull slaughtering. I have much important business to attend to than meaningless insults from other brothers.
23 Dec 2009, 09:50 am
@grant10:
I understand from previous posts that you had a clash with Pietman, that I can’t comment on, cause I’ve missed it.
But the generilization of the other bloggers who mostly left as racists are a bit harsh.
I tend to agree with Brig v Zyl.
There are a lot of people on here spitting just the opposite at the moment.
The funny thing is they never actually mention anything aout rugby apart from gettin into discussions that has a flavour of colour/race involved.
I can’t understand what the issue is between the so called two site’s in any case.
I visit both quite regularly, doesn’t comment a lot. Time a bit restricted.
But never the less I find articles on both sites that are quite interesting from time to time.
I honestly don’t understand the competition mode created between the two sites ( keep in mind, by bloggers mainly ).
Bloggers like Carol, I see on both sites frequently and she doesn’t harm or spit rubbish between any of them.
The people going on about it are the one’s with the chip on their shoulders if you ask me…
23 Dec 2009, 09:54 am
This thread has been put again, because it`s the only way Keo will ever get a 1000 posts on a single thread again.
It`s been a long time.
23 Dec 2009, 10:01 am
@Karoolander: go back east and leave us proud saffas alone…please.@Blouste: Agree….somevery cool guys on the other site…..the 1 bad apple brings the rest down …
23 Dec 2009, 10:04 am
@grant10:
I see your thinking, but it’s the same on both sides of the coin hey…
23 Dec 2009, 10:04 am
with malema and Karoolander around….aka the pieman of the east….i have the urge to go walk on the beach, even though it is raining…..
I feel dirty even being in the same cyberspace with this racist chameleon that is so ashamed of his real persone he chooses to hide behind masks.
And he calls me a ‘little man’?
I have never hidden or stolen nics…ever!
23 Dec 2009, 10:05 am
@Blouste: to say Grant10 had a clash with that lowlife Pietman is wrong! The filthy bigot attacked Grant unprovoked, insulted his son and went on a major tirade about black people in this country. Daai hol borsel can stay on rt forever.
23 Dec 2009, 10:06 am
@Blouste: agree….2 wrongs never make a right…cheers blouste…enjoy the holidays ..
23 Dec 2009, 10:08 am
@Pearl Rose: My son pitys him as well…..those relics of a sad and distant past should really stay out of SA…..we do not need there type here….ever again.
23 Dec 2009, 10:12 am
@Pearl Rose:
Like I said, I can’t comment on that because I didn’t see it.
I’m just referring to the so called rivalry between the 2 sites.
And I must add that if what you say is true then surely that was uncalled for.
Having said that, I’ve been blogging on keo for quite some time, and of late a lot of comments are allowed on here that would not have been allowed 3 or 4 years ago. I believe Ig was still moderating. Not sure whether that has got anything to do with it though…
23 Dec 2009, 10:13 am
@grant10:
Thanks , you too… be blessed !!!
23 Dec 2009, 10:17 am
@grant10: Ai tog.
23 Dec 2009, 10:19 am
@Karoolander:
Watse span ondersteun jy ?
23 Dec 2009, 10:31 am
@Blouste: Baie spanne wat ek ondersteun.
Wees meer spesifiek
23 Dec 2009, 10:33 am
@grant10: Grow a pair won`t you.
Or does the lady of the house wear the pants?
23 Dec 2009, 10:35 am
@Karoolander:
Rugbyspanne.
S14 span ?
23 Dec 2009, 10:45 am
Goeie genade maar hier gaan regtig niks aan nie…
23 Dec 2009, 11:39 am
@rossoneri:
@grant10:
I blog on both sites seems to me there is a lot of backslapping going on here
@Pearl Rose: Pot? Kettle?
23 Dec 2009, 11:39 am
Langebaan is vol gautengers! Maar die plek kook en ek gaan nou begin drink.
23 Dec 2009, 11:42 am
@grant10: I am sure SA can do with all the professional help they can get
23 Dec 2009, 11:43 am
@Slappes:
For a second I thought you said gatnaaiers.
23 Dec 2009, 11:46 am
@Predawn: He said Gautengers not Cape Townians
23 Dec 2009, 11:46 am
Predawn, I said Langebaan not Durban.
23 Dec 2009, 11:48 am
Wow, I don’t come on much anymore and I can see why. The site went from rugby to everybody with their Internet buddies and clicks. Get a life guys, and perhaps some real friends too. The fact that most of you sit on here all day and late into the evenings and comment on anything from your wives to your jobs to your careers is pretty sad.
Here’s a suggestion, why don’t you all get Skype, MSN, or a good Java chatroom and leave Keo to the real rugby lovers. I’m sick of reading about your little feelings or emotions
23 Dec 2009, 11:48 am
Jammer ouens
23 Dec 2009, 11:52 am
@Richie_7: Now that is something to agree about
23 Dec 2009, 11:53 am
@JL1:
You guys are so nasty. I feel hurt now.
23 Dec 2009, 12:19 pm
@Richie_7:
What about the real rugby lovers who also have “emotions and little feelings” – where do you suggest they should go or do you think real rugby lovers are all robots with no feelings or other interests they might like to chat about?
23 Dec 2009, 12:19 pm
@Richie_7: hey richie…why don’t you take your own advise and register on RT where everything is done at the whim of the supreme leader Rudi Geldenhuys. When he says “jump” everyone says “how high?”
he even regulates when bloggers can have banter with “free for all threads” that still monitored!
23 Dec 2009, 12:23 pm
@Pearl Rose:
Why do you have such an issue with individuals ?
23 Dec 2009, 12:25 pm
@Pearl Rose:
See my earlier post regarding the so called rivalry between the websites…
Nobody is forcing anybody to go to either of the sites.
Think its poor taste to bad mouth someone when they aren’t around to defend themselves though…
23 Dec 2009, 12:26 pm
@Robzim: Which part of Keo being a RUGBY blog do you not understand? As mentioned, share your other interests on the relevant blogs
23 Dec 2009, 12:29 pm
@Pearl Rose: Pearl, by the sounds of things you didn’t cop an invite to the new site so the rest of us have to sit here and listen to your bitterness.
Get over it, move on, and start talking rugby
23 Dec 2009, 12:34 pm
@Richie_7:
My understanding is that Keo is predominantly a rugby blog but that Mark has no problem if other issues of interest are also discussed – in fact I am quite sure he wellcomes it – it has a huge impact on the number of hits and makes things in general a bit more exciting.
23 Dec 2009, 12:39 pm
@Robzim: And by a bit more exciting you refer to racial comments, the usual endless fighting about cr@p, and now a group of bloggers moving to another site for “political” reasons?
C’mon, talk rugby, talk sense, and we’ll all end up dealing with a lot less stupid posts
23 Dec 2009, 12:40 pm
@Robzim: The writers on this blog themselves do not always post articles that are strickly about rugby.
23 Dec 2009, 12:47 pm
@Richie_7: On any blog you will always find diverse opinions and this can lead to fighting, that is a given. You must also remember for the owners of this blog it is all about hits. Therefore you will find controversial and opinionated articles/treads that are posted to illicit the responses and racial comments that you have seen on Keo.
23 Dec 2009, 13:28 pm
John1976, well said. Richie7 accept Keo as is.
23 Dec 2009, 13:30 pm
Anybody for a kreef braai?
23 Dec 2009, 13:33 pm
Robzim, your kitesurfing cousins are out in fullforce on the langebaan lagoon. Just those jetski idiots spoiling the day.
23 Dec 2009, 13:53 pm
@Richie_7: quit your sanctimonious bluster man, it’s not funny. How much rugby can one talk on threads titled “disgraceful de villiers” “cheeky calls pdv a ba boon” de villiers – a national embarrasment”? Like i suggested earlier, you can go to RT & follow to the overseer’s instructions…
23 Dec 2009, 14:10 pm
More and more of the same, it seems.
Some overinflated ego’s on here, as always.
Alas.
23 Dec 2009, 14:18 pm
@Slappes:
#881 and 882
Yeah, those noisy clowns can turn a peaceful environment into a mini- Kilarney in no time.
Try and enjoy it anyway, the Kreefbraai sounds great. I wont say more on the subject – don’t want to make Richie de moer in with all the non-rugby talk
23 Dec 2009, 14:24 pm
The first duty of a man is the searching for and the investigation of truth.
23 Dec 2009, 14:32 pm
Nemo enim fere saltat sobrius, nisi forte insanit.
Best wishes to everyone over this festive period. Let us never forget that gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all others.
23 Dec 2009, 15:10 pm
WPTID, right you are. Robzim
yeah they are class morons but hey Im on VACATION! (Richie7 just had a stroke.)
23 Dec 2009, 15:13 pm
Cmon, we can make 1000 comments.
23 Dec 2009, 16:04 pm
why’s this thread being brought up again ?? nothin to report keo?
23 Dec 2009, 18:02 pm
I’m hoping you guys will give us some feedback on this issue of SA Rugby mag (which would go into the next issue)…
23 Dec 2009, 18:21 pm
@Simon:
Is it just general feedback of the most recent issue you’re looking for? The one with Schalk on the cover?
23 Dec 2009, 18:54 pm
@Yetirat:
Sorry stupid question obviously it’s the Trophy issue.
23 Dec 2009, 22:50 pm
@Brigadier Van Zyl: The real Julius is no hero, and not a blogger here. So, do you equate all bloggers of colour with the caliber of Julius Malema? If so, would it be fair for be to equate you with the caliber of Eugene Tereblanche?
23 Dec 2009, 22:55 pm
@Karoolander: Pietman. If you hate it here, why not stick to your RT. Aparently you indulge in some mudslinging yourself there. Same story as always with you. Can dish it up, but just can’t take it.
23 Dec 2009, 23:00 pm
@JL1: Did Pietman call you for back up like he always does?
23 Dec 2009, 23:09 pm
@rossoneri: hello red&black, how are you doing? Are you on holiday?
23 Dec 2009, 23:11 pm
@rossoneri: Jy is ‘n ou pisvel. Nou dat almal slaap kom praat jy kak.
23 Dec 2009, 23:13 pm
@rossoneri: carol accused me of being you a couple of days ago, then she asked me to go on to RT and look for some racially offensibe comments and see if i will find any…how laughable
23 Dec 2009, 23:16 pm
@Pearl Rose: ag shame, arme pêrel kon seker niks kry nie.
23 Dec 2009, 23:16 pm
:shocked:

:angry:
23 Dec 2009, 23:21 pm
@Werner: hoe gaan dit werner?
23 Dec 2009, 23:31 pm
@Pearl Rose: I’m well thanks. Hope you are great too.
@Pearl Rose:The sad thing is that some bloggers feel that only I saw the racial evil that was Pietman and GBS and anyone who voices a similar view is automatically me. Crazy I tell you. As for proof. Ask Carol what their new friend Winston said about quota systems in cricket. Racist as ever and that is just one example.
@Werner: Thank you Werner for evidence as if we needed any. See everyone. The right wing racists are the “vuil bekke”. Werner here wins todays prize. Werner, ek is seker dat GBS sy gat gelek wil he. RT roep. Gaan doen jou werk.
23 Dec 2009, 23:48 pm
@rossoneri: Ag jy is so f’ked up. Ek is so bly ek is nie jou soort nie.
23 Dec 2009, 23:50 pm
@rossoneri:
Bud, do you really not see that you are no different from the people you are critisizing? Just left wing…..differnet side of the same coin. Get your head out of the sand dude.
24 Dec 2009, 00:42 am
Rosseneri,please get your facts straight. I did not make a racial statement,I was stating a fact, all I said was that there in an unofficial rule that there must be 4 players of colour in the National team at any one time. If you dont believe me,go and look at the stats on cricinfo.com,and I firmly believe that all 4 of those players in our side and there purely on merit. So before you go try pulling my name through the mud please get your facts straight.
24 Dec 2009, 03:46 am
@whatever:
well put Whatever
24 Dec 2009, 04:35 am
@whatever: she is very different from them, only you cannot see it because you are on the other side with them. Objectivity is a fallacy to you, you cannot even comprehend how it would be to be impartial. You lack the cognitive ability to see things as they are. Fairness is like a township school to you, you never went there!
24 Dec 2009, 06:46 am
@Pearl Rose:
Maybe you should re-read your post? Why is fairness in your book so slanted that you can rate it a “black” snowboard slope it is so steep? I’m on my own side, so I’m not sure whose side you are refering to? I’m merely pointing out your own bias and that of Rossoneri, cause you are so blind with your own prejudice you can’t see it!
24 Dec 2009, 06:47 am
oh and by the way a “black” slope in skiing terms has no racial conotation whatsoever! Just in case you wanted to try your luck with that card!
24 Dec 2009, 08:26 am
Cmon 1000!
24 Dec 2009, 09:49 am
@whatever: blind to what prejudice? you are fishing buddy! Just because someone calls you out for your ingrained bigotry it does not me they are the reverse of what you are… You seem to be in denial and looking for outlets to justify the indoctrination. You should be grateful for someone like Rossoneri, she helps you exorcise your demons…
24 Dec 2009, 10:06 am
@rossoneri: ???
Must i humiliate you too? Barking up the wrong tree again.
Take the deal or shut the f.ck up.
24 Dec 2009, 10:24 am
@Karoolander: what’s up steve, You good?
24 Dec 2009, 12:52 pm
Pitty this is an advert and not an article.
Congrats anyway to South Africa … an impressive period in rugby
24 Dec 2009, 13:52 pm
It’s now Christmas Day here in the land of chch and cane.
“Shall I play for you, pa rum pum pum pum,
On my drum? “
24 Dec 2009, 13:55 pm
Peace and Love to all,
But come February……….”It’s no more Mr Nice Guy”, or business as usual.
8)
24 Dec 2009, 14:38 pm
@cane: merry christmas chch & cane, hope you guys are happy with your families. We are still on christmas eve over here in the Republic…enjoy
Come february, no holds barred again…
24 Dec 2009, 14:44 pm
@Simon:
Simon I chuckled at Jake White’s column.
He starts off giving a few reasons why he thinks the Boks did so poorly in the end of year games and he did have some good arguments. He then went on to say what was wrong with the team as a whole and how this could be rectified if the Boks had a decent Director…to which he promptly offered his services as the final paragraph.
The man gets to the point.
24 Dec 2009, 15:12 pm
@cane: @chch – welcome back Laulala: Merry Christmas to both of you.
Only 3pm here Christmas Eve.
24 Dec 2009, 16:36 pm
Merry Christmas Cane.
Merry Christmas to the rest of you shortly
First Christmas back home with family in 11 years.
I hope those of you who come over for the WC next year get to see a bit of NZ. Just did the drive from Westport to Christchurch via Greymouth and Arthur’s Pass again today. Amazing parts of the country, beautiful drive, good for the sole.
Rocked up at my brothers house and there was Rob Penny (Canterbury Coach) in the driveway. It is good to be back home.
24 Dec 2009, 16:47 pm
CHCH, Enjoy the festive season mate. Hope theres less name-dropping in the new year.
24 Dec 2009, 17:13 pm
@Predawn:
#919
I noticed that as well. In the same article there were the usual not so subtle boasts as well as the customary “the senior players are now running the show” dig at PdV.
Although JW has some good arguments (as u also pointed out) he spoiled it with the constant self-idolisation and – promotion.
Thank goodness he is out of favour with the current leadership in SA rugby.
24 Dec 2009, 17:18 pm
@Robzim: hi rob
i read the magazine from cover to cover….to be honest i was shocked at Whites column….he really puts the boot in and the self promo is not cool imo….
Brussow must be petrified if White gets back in….poor bugger would never get a look in again.
24 Dec 2009, 17:22 pm
@Robzim: All the talk of the senior players running the show has got me concerned Rob…..the contention has got louder and louder and if true is not a good thing for our rugby …..it cannot continue in my view.
I hope 2010 sees PDV really stamp his authority on proeedings .
24 Dec 2009, 17:25 pm
@rossoneri: @896
What are you one about? You are one angry person! Chill!
24 Dec 2009, 17:26 pm
@whatever: Are you saying that all bloggers on RT have never made racially prejudiced comments ever? Please.
Ed the Lion can tell you how he called Earl Rose a “h0tn0t” and was proud of it, even had you blokes back slapping him for the comment.
Pietman’s hateful comments are well documented and GBS’s threats are legendary. Ask WPTID.
@Winston: Winston. Please drop the act. Your comment was that Wayne Parnell ought to be in the team, but in order for that to happen, they must drop Ntini, because “unofficially” ie read (all in your head) one black player must be in the team and 3 coloured ones, and you said it’s a pity that Ntini must be there because it in fact prevents Parnell from being sellected. What you really saying is keep it to only 4, and replace a black one for another of colur, but please SA cricket must not touch your lilly white boys. Why must Ntini, go and not a white player to make room for Parnell? Are you realy that blinkered or are you just one of those sports fans that can only cope with so many players of colour on the pitch before you freak out!
@Karoolander: Did you miss me Pietman. Why are you here and not in AWB Mecca, aka RT. You never scared me before what makes me think I’m going to listen to your stupid kak now. If you are not him, your are just his gat leker. No different from being the piece of **** yourself.
24 Dec 2009, 17:28 pm
@Slappes: lol…howzit Slappes?
24 Dec 2009, 17:39 pm
@grant10: howzit boet. You strong or the season ahead? Long time…
24 Dec 2009, 17:42 pm
@Transformation: hullo Transie. You still giving them stick mate? I’ve missed the entertainment of the pitched battles on Keo.
24 Dec 2009, 17:59 pm
Hey Transie, lekker mate and yourself. Im here on the West coast , you in EC?
24 Dec 2009, 18:52 pm
@Slappes:yeah i’m in the rural EC bra, whiling away time watching a repeat of the british & irish lions matches and sort of calmly analysing the games…you, where about are you?
@TASSIES:hey tassies, long time no see mate, where are you hiding these days.
24 Dec 2009, 19:19 pm
Hi Guys – Is this thread still running on……..!!
Seasons Greetings to you and yours…….
“Peace on Earth and Goodwill to all Men”
24 Dec 2009, 23:13 pm
@rossoneri: @Pearl Rose:
Where are you guys getting this “you blokes slapping backs ” from? I do not form part of any group and I do not blog on R-T?
Quit labeling people cause they have a different view point to you or because they point out your “blind” prejudices. “Blind” because you just do not see that you are just like the people you critisise! Eish!!
25 Dec 2009, 00:00 am
@whatever: you must be special.
Grant10, robzim, sodajoe, sheriff, slappes, dawn, blouste, transformation, sharkgirl, Ratel Brussow, crouching tiger hidden dragon, gunther etc, these are all people who more often that not have different views from mine. The only difference between them and the likes of you & Hondo is that their comments do not stink of the racial prejudice you were suckled on as an infant!
25 Dec 2009, 07:10 am
@whatever:
“Quit labeling people cause they have a different view point to you or because they point out your “blind” prejudices. “Blind” because you just do not see that you are just like the people you critisise!”
well spoken dooos, perhaps one should heed their own advice huh??
25 Dec 2009, 08:44 am
@poppa69: lmao
merry christmas to you Poppa. Good comeback.
25 Dec 2009, 09:20 am
This must go down as the quote/punch-line of the year:
“Fairness is like a township school to you, you never went there!”
25 Dec 2009, 11:09 am
And then it was Christmas. All the people rejoiced because a peacemaker was born.
May you and yours have the peace in your hearts.
Merry Christmas to all on Keo.
25 Dec 2009, 11:15 am
Xhosakid no you can’t cause no township school lasts for more than 1 month

happy holidays to all bloggers except the ones of the racist variety.
26 Dec 2009, 10:24 am
great to see that sanity has prevailed and that the great ntini is playing today.it should never had been a debate because you simply cant replace a player with 100 tests with one that had one good spell in a test match.just glad that idiots like wp and his blinkered mates don’t pick national teams!
26 Dec 2009, 12:10 pm
…and still this thread runs on, dragging it’s weary feet towards the 1,000 hit!!
26 Dec 2009, 12:11 pm

26 Dec 2009, 16:11 pm
Will this get to 1000.
I cannot believe the mentally challenged like Valkyrie still bother to write on here.
No one gives a stuff what the moron has to say. Certainly the most deluded poster I have ever encountered in my life.
26 Dec 2009, 16:34 pm
@Robzim: Hi Rob, Treehugger is a lady ‘Sharks’ fan who rescues wildlife, (not sure she is a keen mountainbiker), a good egg though.
