Clermont went to the summit of the Top 14 log with a come-from-behind 16-15 win over rivals Toulouse.

Toulouse’s South African No 8 Shaun Sowerby and French wing Vincent Clerc both crossed the line in the first half to help guide their side to a 15-9 half-time lead, but a late try by Clermont flyhalf Tasesa Lavea stole the points.

Clermont go ahead of Castres, who surprisingly lost to Montpellier, as a result of a better points difference. The defeat leaves Toulouse in third, six points adrift.
