Venter found guilty

Brendan Venter has been handed a suspended sentence of four-weeks for improper conduct.

Venter was found guilty of ‘conduct prejudicial to the interests of the Union’ (RFU), but had his sentence suspended until 31 December 2010. The Saracens coach was ordered to make a public apology to referee David Rose for his comments about the official’s display in Sarries’ loss to Leicester at Vicarage Road on 2 January.

Venter also had to pay £250 .

If Venter is found guilty before the end of the year for any further misconduct, his suspension will be imposed.

@gunther: i have not said venter did not have a point, the arrogance i am pointing to is in how he verbalised his frustrations, his arrogance got the better of him. I do not think the RFU are pinging him because he is wrong but he said what he said in an not so elegant manner….typical saffa arrogance

    @Pearl Rose:

he is a rugby coach not an after dinner speaker…

is pdv a typically arrogant saffa because he expresses himself in an inelegant way?

    how about suralex?

    arsene wenger?

    raf benitez?

    warren gatland?

nowhere in the press over there has anyone labelled him as arrogant for his outburst, ill-considered perhaps…but certainly not arrogant…you seem very judgmental…

    He hates BMWs.

I find their taste in cars particularly xenophobic.

    And their attitudes!

This is shameful. The one guy that actually stands up and says something gets a ban… The IRB should sort out this global mess no matter the cost. Rugby is going nowhere quickly due to these fat incompetent money-grabbing idiots.

  • 65.Pearl Rose: Reply to this comment

@Skim: the IRB does not like groot bek coaches. The one week the RFU actually apologised to him and the next week the saffa arrogance went to his head and voila suspended sentence.

Brendan is a big-mouth. A suspended sentance will not do the trick. Someone needs to park a Tipper truck in that hole he eats with!
