Bastareaud to face O’Driscoll
Mathieu Bastareaud has retained his starting place at outside centre against Ireland after his heroics against Scotland last weekend.
Bastareaud made his first appearance in their Six Nations opener against Scotland since being found guilty of lying to the French Rugby Union about being assaulted in New Zealand last year.
The 21-year-old played a big role in the 18-9 win at Murrayfield as he grabbed a brace. Marc Lièvremont’s faith in Bastareaud paid off and the French head coach will now start him again against Ireland at Stade de France, where he will face his opposite number Irish skipper Brian O’Driscoll.
