Bath smash Exiles
14 Feb 2010
Butch James, Michael Claassens, and Luke Watson featured in Bath’s 35-22 win over London Irish in Reading.
Since James’s return from knee reconstruction last weekend, Bath have secured a couple of comprehensive wins. Bath raced to a 25-6 lead over the Exiles at the break, and despite a second half revival from the hosts, Faan Rautenbach’s yellow card for a ruck infringement ended their charge.
In the day’s other fixtures, Leicester went to the top of the Premiership with a 14-9 win over Leeds, who had captain Marco Wentzel and Hendre Fourie in their side. Danny Cipriani kicked 17 points in Wasps’ 22-16 win over Sale.

Lol, do you think Bruce is THAT good?
Stormers can also do with Watson and with ex Free stater Claasens.
The Bath fullback (blond chap, don’t know his name) also looked like a gifted runner – the kiwi wing with the beard also looked very sharp.
And old Faan still looks like a caveman.

@Robzim:
Bruce is Butch. Kak name I must add.
14 Feb 2010, 21:21 pm
@Robzim: Faan Rautenbach and Danie are apparently going back to SA next year and retiring from rugby
I think Stormers can use Butch, Peter Grant is really just average at 10, not so sure about Watson. SA has many excellent players at 6,7,and 8

I am no fan of Grant either as a 10 – will be interesting to see who Alister selects for the game against the Tahs.
Cronje is showing good promise and hopefully he will make the step up before the end of the super 14 (to start). In the meantime I will pick de Waal to start -I know he has his limitations but imo he offers much more than Grant and in a tight match his boot will be crucial – Pieterson is still not really “up there” as a reliable goalkicker

we tend to write off legends in SA far too early….Butch ,for me, a great 10…..and we let him walk in the prime of his career.
To believe hat Dumond,Grant and the like are anywhere in his class is absurd.
And how the Sharks are missing F sTEYN AND bARRITT!
wATSON IS THE MISSING INGREDIENT IN sATURDAYS PERFORMANCE AS WELL….THE CLASS LINK BETWEEN FORWARDS AND BACKS IS GONE.

Not really an explosive start by the Saffa teams to be fair. Bulls looked the pick of the bunch against a game Cheetahs mob.
Stormers were ordinary and certainly not the all conquering superstar team that alot are making them out to be again (And I support the Stormers BTW)
Sharkies are gonna struggle. Not the same team as last year. And as for the dingbats throwing bottles. Jeez, I hope they kick them out for good. Why are there always a few a-holes?
Bizzy………..grow up Boet, you cost your side the game IMO

The Sharks should have points deducted from them, it’s unacceptable that a half full beercan landed next to opposition team’s player before he kicked a conversion.
Fittingly, not ONE official voice of SARU or any major newspaper condemned the incident!
Makes one thinking

@Big Hit: Thanks for the heads up.Damn that Luke Watson,now he’s going to turn Butch into a springbok hater(deadpan)
15 Feb 2010, 15:04 pm
@Hondo: Sharks have to take action against that appalling behaviour.
15 Feb 2010, 23:54 pm
@Hondo: you sure about Abendanon?
Have your say
