One reason is doing this is the injuries. If you only play with the same 15 players what happens when 3 of them can’t make it to the RWC? The other reason is that now he has 2 or 3 choices for each post (ok maybe not for the fly half). It puts pressure on the players, but it also help them to find the motivation to keep working (see Bonnaire or Rougerie).
But maybe my vision is biaise :D

I think he had lessons from Graham Henry.

France win convincingly, he drops 4-5 players. France win again, he drops another 2-3 players. I fear for the French this will be their downfall in RWC 2011.

Heymans is 32 years old and it seems that Lièvremont wants to see younger players with the 2011 in mind (and with less chance to be injured). He seems to be a little bit out of form also. I’m pretty sure Clerc and Medard will be “bleus” again, prolly not Heymans :(

That results with lot of players being injured. They did a team of the injured, it looks quite good :D

Medard is out of form at the moment, and Poitrenaud (the other fullback of Toulouse) is doing great at the moment.

Florian Fritz has not been selected lately because Lièvremont thinks he still has some “discipline” issues. But Fritz>Marty IMHO. Traille just came back from injury. Rougerie is injured. Ouedraogo was injured for Wales, and will probably come back for England.
