Fourie’s potent energy
15 Mar 2010
Jaque Fourie has sparked the Stormers back to life.
In the new issue of SA Rugby magazine, former Bok technical adviser Eddie Jones and Stormers backline coach Robbie Fleck analyse Fourie’s game and explain why he – and not the headline-hogging Bryan Habana – is the key to the Stormers’ success this year.
‘Jaque is a fantastic runner off the ball, which means he will pick a line and identify space where at first there doesn’t seem to be any,’ says Fleck. ‘He’s also deceptively quick, so when he hits a hole, he makes it count. He has a good sidestep, but he hardly ever needs it because defenders are beaten by the angle.’
Fourie also talks about his move to the Cape, his dream of winning the Super 14 and Currie Cup, why he hates being rested, and his Springbok ambitions.
Also in the new issue:
– As a white wing, Gerhard van den Heever faces immense obstacles in his quest to earn Springbok selection
– Hugh-Reece Edwards on being back at the Shark Tank after a decade in the coaching wilderness
– Former Springbok prop Balie Swart’s mission to save the scrum
– BJ Botha on his imminent return to South Africa from Ulster, the country’s scrum troubles, and winning over referees
– Brad Barritt: ‘I want to play for England’
– Italy’s SA-born lock Quintin Geldenhuys on the mixed emotions he felt when facing the Boks, and whether he’ll come back home
– Refereeing projects could change the way officials and spectators see the game
– From being named IRB U19 Player of the Year to having open heart surgery to save his life, the progression of Crusaders centre Robert Fruean through the rugby ranks has been anything but normal
– Justin Harrison was banned for eight months after taking cocaine with his Bath team-mates last year, but the Brumbies have given him an opportunity to make amends
– While a rare neurological disorder has put Andre Venter in a wheelchair, the former Springbok hardman has not lost hope
– PLUS: Jake White on the new law interpretations

Potent Dragon!
15 Mar 2010, 06:57 am
Looking forward to getting my copy. I wanna hear what Brad has to say.
15 Mar 2010, 07:10 am
Andre Venter is a true Springbok legend. My brothe has had the pleasure of hunting on his farm
15 Mar 2010, 07:14 am
another article about jaque fourie, didn’t we just have “joker in the pack” a month ago? What has happened now that is so extraordinary? He has played 5 games for the stormers where he hasn’t been that great…
15 Mar 2010, 07:20 am
Imo… Andre Venter….
Respek!
15 Mar 2010, 07:24 am
So by my count that’s 6 Stormers related articles since the solitary Bulls blitz Highlanders, which also happened to be the actual Bulls game thread.
The one sided reporting on this site has predictably gone to an even higher level in correlation with the Stormers march up the log.
You people really have no shame.
15 Mar 2010, 07:25 am
@Transformation: hell transie – so early in the morning and you are already negative….
15 Mar 2010, 07:30 am
@Tacitus:
Thats because the Bulls are boring. I mean really now!!
15 Mar 2010, 07:42 am
@Tacitus: Tac you have your udder in a twist man. Ryan has posted an article just short of shooting his….
Argg man, Bulls hijack just about every thread, do you really feel so desperately inadequate you need to ram the bulls down every ones throats?
The Bulls are wonderful and playing exemplary rugby.
There ya happy now
15 Mar 2010, 07:44 am
if you want to see 1000 Bulls articles just buy the Rapport
15 Mar 2010, 07:48 am
@Tacitus: ryan vrede can we please have an article titled “bull’s defensive frailities a worry for ludeke”
15 Mar 2010, 07:52 am
@RugbyRulz: Maybe if we got a better shake, we wouldn’t have to hijack yours. Ever thought babout that? Give a dog a bone!
15 Mar 2010, 07:53 am
SA Rugby mag, only articles about a selective group of players
15 Mar 2010, 07:54 am
@Staal: you call it negative i say it is having my eyes wide open…simon borchardt expects us to pay money for subscriptions when over a period of a year i get on average 6 fourie du preez, jaque fourie, pierre spies, francois steyn, [let's just call them the usual suspects] articles…
15 Mar 2010, 07:54 am
@Tacitus: There is no need for Bull threads. That because you hi jack every thread (Lion, Cheetah etc) to talk about the Bulls. We get enough of them from you.
15 Mar 2010, 08:04 am
@Charlie:
That is why I don’t buy the mag anymore.
Oh and the fact that KEO and his cronies are a bunch of idiots with hidden agendas.
15 Mar 2010, 08:05 am
@Spinnekop:
And don’t get him started on the ‘King of the Hurdles’
bwahahahahahaha
15 Mar 2010, 08:08 am
@catleya: This article should achieve the boner you’re after. You can shake it all you like. :Green:
Man come on, the bulls do not need every South African fawning all about. Get real.
15 Mar 2010, 08:08 am
so much for that smiley here
15 Mar 2010, 08:17 am
@Transformation: now that would be entirely appropriate
15 Mar 2010, 08:24 am
@Transformation: The fact is that there is only a select group of players who sell magazines. However, we always feature the other players inside the magazine and give them almost as many pages as the cover star.
15 Mar 2010, 08:33 am
@Tacitus:
ha ha. keo is from the cape. go figure. why dont you start up a blog dedicated to your bulls.
15 Mar 2010, 08:41 am
I found the Bulls vs Highlanders game TERRIBLE to watch. Even though there were many points scored it sucked and tries were leaked in all directions.
The Stormers v Canes game has better intensity and was much better rugby.
15 Mar 2010, 08:43 am
@munkiboi: Tac could always join his buddies at the brown ball site. Back slap each other.
At least here, we tell it as it is.
15 Mar 2010, 08:43 am
Transie do you subscribe to sa rugby magazine?
15 Mar 2010, 08:44 am
Oh the game of the weekend for me was the inspirational England v Scotland. I was truly glad it was a draw… there was nothing in it.
15 Mar 2010, 08:48 am
Wonder if I will get this issue…
15 Mar 2010, 08:48 am
Jaque, the best center in the world.
15 Mar 2010, 08:54 am
@Kobus Kitty: Better than your pin-up? He plays everywhere from 10 – 15.
15 Mar 2010, 08:54 am
“As a white wing, Gerhard van den Heever faces immense obstacles in his quest to earn Springbok selection”
15 Mar 2010, 08:55 am
15 Mar 2010, 08:55 am
Typical Simon story from Die SON!
15 Mar 2010, 08:57 am
@Dawn: Makes sense to me,maybe he should try out for hooker..?
15 Mar 2010, 09:00 am
“– Hugh-Reece Edwards on being back at the Shark Tank after a decade in the coaching wilderness”
i thought the shark tank was the coaching wilderness this year. maybe more like the coaching black-hole.
15 Mar 2010, 09:01 am
@Tacitus: (6) Would you like some cheese with that whine tacitus?
15 Mar 2010, 09:03 am
@RugbyRulz:
What are you on about?
15 Mar 2010, 09:05 am
White wing = white rhino ..
15 Mar 2010, 09:06 am
@Simon: yes, yes simon i know, you’ve sold me that pitch before, habana, steyn, spies, fourie, jdv, du preez, schalk etc, the problem is that some of us are not braindead that we crave to read about the same players over & over again, year-in year-out.
How many times can a sane person be expected to care about what is francois steyn’s preferred position?
Give us a detailed article analysing [or get an expert to do it if you are inexpert] all the first choice tightheads from our s14 franchises and have all of them on the cover [j smit, wp nel, werner kruger + the stormers & lions tighthead], come up with a clever caption for the cover…
see, it’s no so hard, this is an off the cuff idea, you educate your readers on the intricacies of the tighthead position, while you have john smit on the cover to satisfy your “usual suspect” quota @ the same time.
15 Mar 2010, 09:06 am
@Storm outta hell:
Nah, Chilli will be in his way!!
15 Mar 2010, 09:07 am
@stormersboy: I think he enjoys Blue cheese. Can’t think why.
15 Mar 2010, 09:07 am
Old Owen Nkumane has issues… man does he have issues…
on the rugby programme yesterday…
Host (can’t remember his name): So Owen… what’s up with the Sharks… must be of great concern…?
Owen: Well not really… the Crusaders lost their first five games before and then won the title… The Sharks can come back from their tour and only need to win eight games and they can still make the play-offs…!!
and later…
Host (can’t remember his name): So the Stormers are looking good…
Owen: Well… there are several aspects of their play that the coach can’t be happy about…
Host (can’t remember his name): for example…?
Owen: Well… if you look at turnovers… they are nearly into the double figures… [they were actually 11] with errors like that they’ll struggle to make the play-offs…!!
W.T.F….?
he just can’t bring himself to say anything positive about the Stormers…
reckon he must be bitter because they never signed him up for the good life in the Cape…!!
15 Mar 2010, 09:08 am
@wpw:
15 Mar 2010, 09:08 am
@Tacitus: sour idiot blah blah blah
15 Mar 2010, 09:09 am
@TASSIES: He he he he
15 Mar 2010, 09:09 am
@ufo: Him being a quota and all..?
15 Mar 2010, 09:09 am
@Kobus Kitty: 36 Your pin up boy Fransie.
15 Mar 2010, 09:10 am
@ufo:
Come on now man , taking Owen Nkumane seriously ?
The guy is as quota as it gets.
Go listen to Breyton or Errol Tobias they knew what they wre talking about, but Owen Nkumane is a F****ing joke and so is Kaya Malotana
15 Mar 2010, 09:10 am
@gunther:
Nah dude.
White wingers = average wingers
Henno Mentz
Dean Hall
Thinus Delport
Andre Snyman
15 Mar 2010, 09:11 am
I’d prefer to read something about Doppes Le Grange. The guy has got me some pretty handy points in my fantasy team.
15 Mar 2010, 09:11 am
@gunther: yes, i got it as a b’day present…
15 Mar 2010, 09:12 am
Put the white winger on the right wing, ‘s what I say.
15 Mar 2010, 09:13 am
@ufo:
Oh jitte.
I noticed that Ashwin Willemse doesn’t seem to like the Sharks!
15 Mar 2010, 09:13 am
@Dawn: Very kleva
15 Mar 2010, 09:13 am
@Dawn: JP Pieterson,Bryan Habana and Lionel Mapoe will be selected 2010 Bok wings.
15 Mar 2010, 09:14 am
@RugbyRulz:
Shame ja that guy has been the shining light in that Lions backline.
15 Mar 2010, 09:14 am
@Storm outta hell:
@wp_boytjie:
I never mentioned quotas and that’s not the point of my post…
just that as an SA TV commentator I would expect some even handedness towards all SA teams… this whole season… whenever asked about the Stormers he never has anything positive to say and latches onto any arb thing to slam them in a very sarcastic sorta way…
15 Mar 2010, 09:14 am
@RugbyRulz:
Excellent! Another Doppies fan.
15 Mar 2010, 09:15 am
@Bill Reyts:
Yep.
I think Simon should give me a job.
Sub-editor.
15 Mar 2010, 09:16 am
@Dawn: Met Eish ja! Met eish.
15 Mar 2010, 09:17 am
@Dawn: Yeah would be refreshing reading me thinks!
15 Mar 2010, 09:17 am
@ufo:
Well Owen Nkumane is there for one reason and one reason only man , that’s why i dont take him seriously. They must have Garth Wright more often he does good analysis.
15 Mar 2010, 09:18 am
@wpw:
serious WPW…?
I didn’t pick that up… will pay more attention to that next time…
15 Mar 2010, 09:19 am
‘Dawn Le Grange’ has a nice ring to it!!
15 Mar 2010, 09:21 am
@ufo: Ag shame..He takes so much stick for the sad Lions that he finds it hard to say anything good about Stormers imo…
15 Mar 2010, 09:23 am
@ufo: Yes he does. He must be really embarrased to be constantly referred to as an ex springbok around such legends as Naas Botha, John Robbie, Bob Skinstadt et al…….he barely qualifies.
15 Mar 2010, 09:24 am
@wp_boytjie:
Bro, Owen is not that bad.
Garth Wright is one of the worst imo.
The guy thinks we’re still in the 80′s.
15 Mar 2010, 09:27 am
@stormersboy:
Now for once I agree with you there.
It wasn’t Owen’s fault though that he was used to fill up the numbers.
15 Mar 2010, 09:29 am
@wp_boytjie:
thing is…I think he makes some good observations and comments… just not when he talks about the Stormers…
@Storm outta hell:
15 Mar 2010, 09:29 am
@wpw: LMAO , i see we shout for the same team ,so agree to disagree , to each his own then
15 Mar 2010, 09:31 am
Transie
Can’t you swap it for a musica voucher!
15 Mar 2010, 09:33 am
My best this weekend was that nasal twat Stransky…near the end oif the Bulls match, he comes up with “The Highlanders have actually been fantastic, if they hadn’t conceded 21 points they’d be in this game”…had me in stitches…yea Joel, if they hadn’t lost, they would have won…brilliant deduction!
15 Mar 2010, 09:36 am
Wpw
Was carel du plessis an ordinary wing?
What about James Small?
So no white player can be a good wing..
Isn’t that like saying black players can’t tackle?
Next you will be telling me white men can’t jump!
15 Mar 2010, 09:36 am
@ufo: I never took Owen to be the kind of lad who enjoyed a smoke(roll-your-own) with his post toasties.
15 Mar 2010, 09:39 am
@Atreides: Yes and his earlier comment re the semi-naked, big, bellied fan. If he fell over he would be like an insect on its back. That for me was Gold.
15 Mar 2010, 09:41 am
@wp_boytjie: Garth Wright, that guys voice irritates the….. out of me. Please never never, he’s worse than Joost.
15 Mar 2010, 09:44 am
@gunther:
I love catching FFEESSSSSSHHHHH!!!
15 Mar 2010, 09:52 am
@wpw: F me, you’re not one of those Nigerian scammers?
15 Mar 2010, 09:53 am
@gunther:
Then you didn’t see Woody Harrelson play basketball!!
15 Mar 2010, 09:54 am
@wpw: Hey! He can jump.
15 Mar 2010, 09:54 am
@Transformation: That tighthead prop cover you propose would almost certainly not sell well. PS. In the new issue, we have a very technical piece on the scrum – you should read it.
15 Mar 2010, 09:54 am
Is it just me or is Joel Stransky a negative pr!ck
I hardly heard him say one decent word while the bulls put 50 on the board……he seems bias “against’ SA teams, WTF is his problem ????
15 Mar 2010, 09:57 am
@RugbyRulz:
He’s my “pin up boy” because I happened to mentioned I watch/support Racing Metro? Kind of childish, if I cared for what team you supported, I too could pick a player and call him your pin up boy.
15 Mar 2010, 09:58 am
@Gonzo Journalism:
I know, he needs a good flick in the balls.
15 Mar 2010, 09:58 am
@Kea-Cat: These guys are all nasal from the amount of white sh*t they shovel up their nostrils…Darren especially so…it’s amazing that his nose has not collapsed
15 Mar 2010, 09:59 am
@Gonzo Journalism: Think Stansky is there to temper the bias. Hugh is blatantly Bull so Stansky is there to temper it. Lately he has been saying some funny things. In Oz we have Marto. They are there to spice things up.
Heavens, Marto Queensland Reds fanatic) during the Reds game was caught out so badly. One of the Faiinga twins was yellow carded… Marto asks his fellow commentators to count the Reds players on the field… I think there are only 14 out there.
I kid you not. Kearns and Kafer just about lost it.
15 Mar 2010, 10:01 am
@Kobus Kitty: Hmmm nup, not a decent looker amongst them. Now I must say Parisse (losing hair too) does it for me
15 Mar 2010, 10:01 am
@Gonzo Journalism: Its not just you. Thats why we have committed to pissing on ‘Joels spot’ everytime we go to Ellis Park.
He is a D03S
15 Mar 2010, 10:02 am
@Gonzo Journalism:
I think the problem with Joel is that he hails from Natal!!
15 Mar 2010, 10:04 am
@TASSIES:
me neither…
15 Mar 2010, 10:08 am
@Gonzo Journalism:
gonzo it’s not just you…
he is…!!
15 Mar 2010, 10:11 am
@wpw: Problem is Natal don’t want him back, he is serious anti-shark after he left Natal and went to Province. And the Province okes don’t want him either.
He was only good for a dropkick. He should emigrate now.
15 Mar 2010, 10:13 am
@Simon:why simon? Give me reason boet not just arbitrary answers…
@gunther:no way, i enjoy the jake white’s way articles
15 Mar 2010, 10:14 am
@wpw:
no mate i **** you not, Joel has an anti shark sentiment too
I’ve heard him single handedly beat the sharks through his commentary, or so it seemed anyway !!!!
15 Mar 2010, 10:20 am
and while we on the subject, old Hugh should be put out to pasture, he is now embarrassing himself these days, he got a voice for horse racing though
15 Mar 2010, 10:22 am
@Gonzo Journalism: Hugh calling the gee gees lmfao. Race on Saturday afternoon… Hugh still calling the tail at 9pm. Yeah right.
15 Mar 2010, 10:23 am
@RugbyRulz: #84, i like Marto!!! He doesn’t mince his words, during the Sharks/Brumbies game, he was ripping into Andy Goode from the 1st whistle! Hahahaha i enjoy the aussie commentators above all, the worst i reckon is that Davies [i think that's who Big Hit said he was] with the squeaky voice who loves Wales…
15 Mar 2010, 10:24 am
@Kobus Kitty: flick in the balls….LOL
i think our whole SA commentary need to go thru a phase of rebuilding,
15 Mar 2010, 10:35 am
@RugbyRulz: Y
15 Mar 2010, 10:36 am
@RugbyRulz: Yeah i did hear that, it was damb funny
15 Mar 2010, 10:38 am
The only decent commentators in SA are Bob Skinstad and the Pearce dude!
They are bias towards WP/Stormers but still they are pretty decent.
Not as bias as Joost was when commentating on Bulls matches!!
15 Mar 2010, 10:42 am
WpW
Now you are fishing…
Give me blades over those two any day..
15 Mar 2010, 10:47 am
@Transformation: Because over the past eight years, every time we’ve put someone on the cover who isn’t a big star, our sales have dropped. I’m happy to put those front rankers on the cover if you offer to cover our losses.
15 Mar 2010, 10:52 am
@Simon:
Simon, don’t get your panties in a bunch. Everyone knows you have to post up the next big thing. It sells.
15 Mar 2010, 10:54 am
@Transformation: OH my word, that Davies cat just has a whinge from the word go!!!
15 Mar 2010, 10:56 am
reckon gavin cowley is the most underrated commentator in south africa…
15 Mar 2010, 10:59 am
There is one with an Italian name… He sounds as if he swallowed a plum.
15 Mar 2010, 11:04 am
Magazines 101 – good covers sell magazines.
Quite frankly, I’m impressed that Simon is even engaging with the bunch of (mostly) fickle bloggers on this site
15 Mar 2010, 11:17 am
@4thWiseMan: The cover pic is really good. It has made a pretty ordinary bloke look… menacingly mysterious. Thumbs up for the photography.
15 Mar 2010, 11:27 am
Photography AND design, bru. There are many elements that go into formulating a good cover – good photography +design, composition, and most importantly, cover lines/blurbs. Overall, this cover looks good, and will probably achieve what it sets out to do, which is sell itself to the general public as well as the die-hard, expertly (self) informed rugby fan *** analyst
15 Mar 2010, 11:40 am
@gunther:
Blades is an idiot.
Typical Blades: ‘And its over, yes, what a kick by FRANCOIS (yells his name) Steyn (in a softer tone) and then he immediately realizes the kick was in fact just wide.
15 Mar 2010, 11:41 am
So a cover of earl rose is out of the question then…
15 Mar 2010, 11:43 am
@gunther:
15 Mar 2010, 11:45 am
That’s my point as bad as blades is he’s better than those two clowns who are making it very difficult for me to watch stormers games without assaulting the tv..
15 Mar 2010, 11:46 am
My dream for this year’s S14 Final is Bulls vs Stormers. I hope it happens.
15 Mar 2010, 11:46 am
@wpw: 109
Bwaaaaahahahahaha! I can almost picture that entire scenario… Probably after about his fifth dram of whiskey. Didn’t he like, spill his dop on the equipment in that commentating box once?
15 Mar 2010, 11:47 am
@gunther: 112
At least he’s entertaining. To his own detriment.
15 Mar 2010, 11:50 am
@Dawn: lol on the right wing that’s classic
15 Mar 2010, 11:54 am
Blades is a character.. And there are precious few of those left in the game..and if I have to listen to stransky one more time I’m going to invade the commentary box and remove his adenoids with a spoon..
15 Mar 2010, 12:07 pm
@gunther:
Is that you Piet (Van Zyl)
15 Mar 2010, 12:39 pm
blades about some player – can’t remember who “yes Joel. everyone in cape town will know him because he went to Rondebosch Boys”
really Hugh? Gideon Twale in site c kayelitsha will know him?
chop
15 Mar 2010, 14:46 pm
How do you know when someone went to Bishops?
He’ll tell you
15 Mar 2010, 16:04 pm
Ag absolute kak Simon. Honestly. Fourie scores one try and suddenly he’s the Stormers’ saviour. Don’t make out Fourie to be what he’s not – a creative player. He’s a good hard running 13 but he isn’t creative and hardly ever offloads in the tackle. The players that are making the difference to the backline are Grant, De Jongh, Habana and Pietersen. What Fourie is good at is sucking in defenders but he’d be even better if he passed more. I think we need to be going down the same route as Aus by having a playmaker at 12. It’s a little too soon to be lauding Fourie. Jeez.
15 Mar 2010, 16:13 pm
@Tacitus:
Not just Keo, SA Rugby.com is Exactly the same re Newlands Faithfull….
15 Mar 2010, 16:15 pm
Anyways Im a sharks boytjie and I think the Article regarding Fourie sounds Great!
too bad im in the UK..
15 Mar 2010, 16:16 pm
@KZN King Shark:
Thank u for telling it as it is.
Fourie is a good player and what he does(running hard/straight,defend) he does well.But hasnt got a creative bone in his body.secondly he DOESNT pass,just doesnt unless he has screwed up a few times by being stingy.
But then again-he is a blue eyed boy on keo and to his boys.Just chaeck how many covers and stories Fourie been featured on the mag.He is the new Marius Joubert.
BTW well done for keo scribes on different front page boy in this month’s SA rugby-Brussow.
May go out and buy this issue
15 Mar 2010, 16:18 pm
@KZN King Shark:
If thou speaketh of his solitary try on Saturday, you need to bear in mind this article was written way beforehand.
It’s not really about tries scored, it’s about the value he brings to the team, methinks.
15 Mar 2010, 17:13 pm
@Tacitus:
You’ve gotta know your audience… Not many Bulls supporters can read
15 Mar 2010, 17:53 pm
Wow and when can we excpect a stormer forward on the front page? Will be the first province forward erver to make the cover
what about may when the bulls take the stormers
15 Mar 2010, 18:47 pm
Such a victim of advertising. Definitely buying that copy.
15 Mar 2010, 19:07 pm
“As a white wing, Gerhard van den Heever faces immense obstacles in his quest to earn Springbok selection” – you have got to love this snippet. A concise summary of the skin-colour conundrum/balls-up that SA suffere from. From apartheid to BEE to AA to Quotas – it will always continue and there never will be an end. “Aluta” will always “continua”. At least Van der Heever will be/or is good enough to play for most International sides. Aus/England/France may beckon for Mr. Van der Heever if he would like to experience International rugby. He shouldn’t jeopardise it by playing in one of these one-offs to preclude him from choosing which nation he would like to represent in future, should he be deemed too pale to play on the wing.
15 Mar 2010, 19:42 pm
@Heavens Game: van den Heever is too young to play for the Boks. He’s not even completed a S14 season and fans are talking about him playing for the Boks. He’s got the talent, lots of speed and good ball skills but he needs to shore up his positional play and defence. Throw him in at the deep end and he’s gonna panic like Kirchner did. Still a fine young prospect and there’s no reason why he shouldn’t play for the Boks in the future but right he’s too inexperienced. The same goes for Mapoe.

@KZN King Shark: 131. You have a point if the argument of Van der Heever’s merits for selection is based on experience or his attributes as a player – there is no argument there. But if it is too difficlt to play for the Boks because of his skin colour, then that is a different can of worms.

@KZN King Shark:
Shows what a Sharks fan knows.
Fourie set up the first try against the Hurricanes by making three defenders hesitate, drawing them in and then flinging it wide.
He also set up Habana, who fell just a meter from scoring.
Let’s not forget his defensive organization skills.
The icing on the cake though, is that you praise de Jongh. Now that’s the only problem with the Stormers backline, as soon as Grant skips de Jongh and Fourie gets the ball, the magic starts happening.

Awesome mag this month. Jacque Fourie is being missed by the Lions and I think they regret him leaving. Hey we the Stormers are just to happy – he is playing brilliant rugby.

Oh great! Another “Jague Fourie” article, I mean c’mon. This is the last guy I wanted to see on the cover. Give him a story but for goodness sakes don’t put him on the front cover!! A person knowing nothing about rugby that reads SA RUGBY MAGAZINES would think we have sevens rugby or something by the way the same players are always on the cover.

@ Skunkie, actually Schalk Burger was on the cover just a few issues ago.

@ Simon 102, Why didn’t we get even a mention of Smit’s 100th CAP then, Smit is a so called “STAR” (There wasn’t even an article covering the story, just a sentence or two on one of the greatest Springbok captain’s 100th cap for 1 Super 14 franchise in the linebreaks section)!!! Dissapointing…
Have your say
