@Partizan.

I was a huge fan of the Original Easter Fesival at Saints. I attended it religiously with my Father when I was at school and then while at varsity I made sure to skip a lecture or 7 to spend a day at Saints. Imagine my disappointment when I arrived there on Thursday this week after an absence of 5 years. I had seen that Dale College would be up against Noordkaap (a tasty prospect of speedy backline and skills versus forwards and strength). Arriving at the gate saw me part with the first R30 of what would be a continuous haemorrhaging of cash at Saints. R30 entrance (standard for all festivals) then money for the car guard then an extra R20 for the beer tent (not the case at St Johns or KES) then R12 per drink (cans only no draft unlike St Johns and KES who allow you the option of can OR draft). The food was a horrible choice between cotton candy or undercooked boerie roll while fighting the queue of horribly branded-clothed children from the co-ed school that is now Saint Stithians. I managed to spend only 2 hours at Saints and could take it no more. The prospect of watching an FNB Invitation side up against St David's Inanda turned my stomach something biblical. I hope that Saints read their email as I have sent them my feedback of my experience of the "One and All". As the original and oldest the school boy rugby community expect more than they are providing. I hope to be writing something more positive next year.

Not sure the word "pound" is used properly here, but that is semantics. What I did see was Jeppe go into the break 3 tries down, but heads held up. I saw Paul Roos run in some sick try in the first few minutes of the second half and then concede 9 points to McDermid's boot. The Paul Roos backline are something special, but for a Top 5 school in 2009 they didn't "pound" as much as their pedigree should have allowed. The Jeppe team played within themselves in the first 20 minutes, but started attacking the Paul Roos line more and more as the game progressed. The fact that we scored all our points from the boot was evidence of the spoiling type of game Paul Roos had to resort to to stem the tide. The first 2 tries for Paul Roos can from a ridiculous offside and a forward pass respectively but excuses are for losers as John Smit said. I have no doubt that both sides will move on from this and go from strength to strength and look forward to watching them bth (but specifically Jeppe) the rest of the festivals.

St Stithians has Hudson Park, St Charles and St Davids there. The only Teams worth watching there are Wynberg, Noord Kaap, Dale and St Andrew's College. Unless they are playing each other it is hardly worth getting out of bed for. Even the hosts are pretty uninspiring.
