Saints survive Dale comeback

Hosts St Stithians claimed a 27-21 win against Dale College at their Easter festival on Saturday after leading 21-7 at the break.

Saints scored three tries through Quinn Wobbe, Kurt Notling and Morgan Ferguso, while Morgan Ferguson kicked three conversions and two penalties. Dale also crossed the line thrice, through Siphumelele Msutwana, Yamkela Ngam and Siviwe Soyswapi, with Bungi Kobese kicking all three conversions.

In other games, the FNB Invitational XV claimed a 28-23 win against St Charles having trailed 18-14 at the break. The FNB side scored four tries through Dugald Williams (two), Marno Hart and Ashlon Davids, with Dugald Williams kicking all four conversions. St Charles also scored four tries, via Shaun Mcnamara, Vincent Potgieter, Andrew Botha and Kwenzo Majola, as well as a penalty from Burten Weakley.

Noord-Kaap thrashed Windhoek 29-0 after leading 15-0 at the break. The tries were scored by Herman van Niekerk (two), Kobus du Plessis and Tyron Boltman. Kobus du Plessis kicked three conversions and a penalty.

Hudson Park beat St David’s 29-20 after leading 12-10 at half-time. The victors tries came from Wayne Ihlenfeldt, Ave Ralarala and Greg Lutge, with Justin Haynes kicking three conversions and a penalty. St David’s scored three tries from Gabriel Ally and Greg Leslie (two). Daniel Barnard kicked a conversion and a penalty.

St Andrew’s saw off Wynberg 37-10 after leading 18-10 at the interval. Saints scored five tries through Grant Prior, Dane van der Westhuizen, Dale Austin, Ntsiki Lamleli and Ben Davies. Dane van der Westhuizen slotted a conversion and a penalty while Lamleli kicked two conversions and a penalty. Zingisa Ndiki scored Wynberg’s only try.
