Coetzee covets continuity
21 Apr 2010
JC Kritzinger trades places with JD Moller in the only change to the Stormers’ 22 for Friday’s game against the Reds.
Kritzinger picked up a hamstring niggle in the defeat to the Force and dropped to the bench for the subsequent clash against the Blues. Moller, the Stormers’ third-choice loosehead at the start of the season, produced a solid enough showing in Auckland to retain his position against the Chiefs. With Kritzinger fully fit, however, he will now provide front-row cover from the bench.
Stormers coach Allister Coetzee has resisted the temptation to pick an extra forward on the bench. The Reds have opted for a 5-2 reserve split in anticipation of a taxing contest up front, and it was thought that Coetzee may have done the same. But Coetzee has said that continuity is important at this stage in the competition and he doesn’t want to alter a winning formula.
