Bakkies boosts Bulls

Bakkies Botha has been rushed straight back into the Bulls team to face the Sharks at Loftus on Saturday.

Botha resumed training last Monday after an Achilles injury, but wasn’t deemed fit enough to face the Lions last weekend. Coach Frans Ludeke has decided the time is right to re-introduce the Bok lock, who will reunite with Victor Matfield.

Danie Rossouw drops to the bench, while Flip van der Merwe misses out on the 22.

With Jaco Pretorius’s injury, Jacques-Louis Potgieter will win his first start for the Bulls, with Wynand Olivier reverting to No 13.

Francois Hougaard returns on the wing, while Deon Stegmnann starts in place of Derick Kuun on the flank.

Bulls – 15 Zane Kirchner, 14 Gerhard van den Heever, 13 Wynand Olivier, 12 Jacques-Louis Potgieter, 11 Francois Hougaard, 10 Morné Steyn, 9 Fourie du Preez, 8 Pierre Spies, 7 Dewald Potgieter, 6 Deon Stegmann, 5 Victor Matfield (c), 4 Bakkies Botha, 3 Werner Kruger, 2 Gary Botha, 1 Gurthrö Steenkamp.
Subs: 16 Bandise Maku, 17 Bees Roux, 18 Danie Rossouw, 19 Derick Kuün, 20 Heini Adams, 21 Stephan Dippenaar, 22 Pedrie Wannenburg.

Great move to bring on JLP. Stegmann might cost the bulls this game if hes a walking penalty again. Between him and McCaw i wonder who is in lead of giving away penalties this year. Sharks might upset the bulls this weekend i hope not. I hate the bulls but one of the South African teams need to win the super14! Stormers or the Bulls I don’t care. Cheetahs lets make it to spot number 11 (^_^)

Black Panther, what’s with the XX? You’ve done it numerous times. Any significance?

@Chaotc99(Chaotc99)-51: BTW the Bulls have given away the least amount of penalties of any team in the comp. So maybe it is your hate for anything blue that lets you make such stupid statements.

@Partizan(Partizan)-52: I’m sure BP will clarify but I think it’s to do with the Mike Phillips/Bakkies Botha man-love story during the B&I Lions series

It will be good to see bakkies back in a bulls jersey and playing again with victor, danie has filled in well for bakkies and deserves to be on the bench but there is only one BAKKIES BOTHA and he can only improve the bulls scrum.I only hope it is a clean game and no injuries to any of the two teams players.GO BULLS and send the guppies back to durban with their fins between their legs.
