Die Brandwag won three matches in the space of five days in late April.
They first beat Muir College, another Uitenhage school, 32-5 after leading 12-5 at the break. They scored six tries via inside centre Llewellyn Pieterse, left wing Enrico Germishuys, hooker Lester Harrop, prop Joel Erasmus and right wing Dillon Hopshire. Flyhalf Franz Botha kicked just one conversion.
Brandwag then took a 650km bus trip to Bloemfontein, where they beat President Steyn 26-7 after leading 14-7 at half-time. Pieterse scored two tries and Hopshire (playing on the left wing this time) and right wing Nicky Nell one each.
The next day, Brandwag beat Louis Botha 14-13, with each side scoring two tries. The try-scorers for Brandwag were Enrico Germishuys and Riaan Esterhuizen, while kicked both conversions.
