Marais Viljoen have qualified for the semi-finals of the World Rugby Youth Tournament in Japan after winning four consecutive matches.
The Alberton school finished top of their pool after beating Kyoto Seisho 28-8, Keisho 17-14 (both from Japan) and Ratu Kadavulevu (Fiji) 21-12. They then edged another Japanese school, Toin Gakuen, 20-18 in the quarter-finals.
Marais Viljoen will now play Truro College from England in the semi-finals on Tuesday, while Hamilton from New Zealand will play The Hills from Australia in the other semi.

The Sanix event isn’t the real deal in schoolboy champions. Marais Viljoen are nowhere near being the top school rugby team in SA, and similarly Hamilton BHS aren’t close to being NZ’s best either, even though they’re now the “world champions”.(Not!
