Robinson breaks down
Benn Robinson is ruled out for the rest of the Super 14 and could miss the start of the international season after fracturing his arm again last Saturday.
After just 30 minutes into his comeback game against the Chiefs since recovering from an arm fracture, Waratahs and Wallabies loosehead Robinson was forced off the field with the same injury. He will undergo surgery on Tuesday and might have to have a plate inserted in his arm.
Head coach Chris Hickey will have to choose between Jeremy Tilse and Dan Palmer to replace Robinson in the No 1 jersey for the crucial fixture against the Hurricanes.
Huxley back at 15
Julian Huxley is expected to return to the Brumbies’ starting line-up after recovering from a hamstring injury.
Fullback Huxley was sidelined after picking up the injury two weeks ago in the defeat to the Waratahs. Adam Ashley-Cooper has been impressive in the No 15 jersey but head coach Andy Friend is likely to shift the Wallabies utility back.
‘Coopy has been tremendous [at fullback] but I thought Hux was going well before his injury,’ Friend told smh.com.au.
Meanwhile, Stirling Mortlock is set to miss the Brumbies’ crucial away clash against the Crusaders after no improvements with his back injury.
