@Seven(Seven)-44:
Cream will rise to the top and remain
Froth will fizzle close to the top and eventually fade into the depths
Considering your race angle on the matter
Jacobs was Barrit’s partner in the midfield and was also overlooked by by Jake White
Julies had delivered a U21 world with De Villiers under Jake White
De Villiers, Steyn and Olivier are all better performers than Barrit … and they all lekka white
Lay off the victim mentality
Barrit was simply out performed
11 May 2010, 19:52 pm
no agreed, but nothing is stopping him representing a his ancestral roots…and i agree jean, steyn and now wynand are better…
but don’t give me **** that jacobs or julies is better, and that they weren’t selected even for one instance of colour…

@Seven(Seven)-52:
Once again
Barrit was the 12
Adi was his 13
They played as C-O-M-B-I-N-A-T-I-O-N
Not C-O-M-P-E-T-I-T-I-O-N
B-O-T-H were overlooked before Barrit decided to leave

Barritt seems to have been overlooked for first team squad as they don’t rate his creativity. Can’t argue with that. Was top tackler though and line basher. Pieter Muller rugby.

@Heavens Game(Heavens Game)-49: ‘ Ask Lomu, Bunce, Bachop or Rokocoko? New Zealanders to the core there…’ Are you refering to the Bachop who also played test rugby for Samoa (Stephen) or the Bachop who also played test rugby for Japan (Graeme)?

THE Waratahs have warned the Bulls against fielding a second-string team this weekend against the Stormers that could have up to 13 top-tier players missing, claiming such a move would be against ”the spirit of rugby”.
Should the second-placed Stormers record a bonus-point win against a depleted Bulls side, the Waratahs would be denied any chance of hosting a lucrative home semi-final – even if they were to defeat the Hurricanes at the Sydney Football Stadium on Friday night.
A home semi would yield a much-needed windfall for the NSWRU, which has reported a loss of $459,248 for 2009. The Waratahs would stand to make up to $600,000 should they host a Super 14 semi-final.
”It’s a very worthwhile and valuable game in terms of money we put back into the game,” NSWRU chief executive director Jim L’Estrange said of a possible home semi-final last night.
L’Estrange added that the Waratahs would monitor the situation in Pretoria and act if the Bulls named a severely depleted team for their final-round clash with the Stormers.
”If we think there is a cause to raise concern we will certainly be raising it with SANZAR,” L’Estrange said. ”It’s not about sitting back and just letting this happen. You just want to make sure things are done correctly and also that the best is done by the competition.
”I certainly understand there will be a few players after a long and torrid season who have a few niggles. But one would think 13 [players] is a little overdone. Right now we are sitting, watching and waiting to see exactly what team comes out. And we hope it is the best team the Bulls can put forward.
”I would be incredibly surprised if the Bulls took the risk of resting so many players for what’s an important game. I am sure it is not in the spirit of the rugby. I am not quite sure it is actually in the spirit of SANZAR. The spirit of SANZAR is to make sure you put the best team on you possibly can.”
The table-topping Bulls are eight points clear of the second-placed Stormers, and are reportedly keen to rest their players ahead of the finals series given they have already clinched a home semi. Only one point separates the Stormers and the Waratahs, and the odds of the Cape Town outfit hosting a semi-final would heighten greatly if they were to be pitted against a second XV Bulls side.
The Bulls’ first training session this week reportedly involved the reserves amid rumours Victor Matfield, Fourie du Preez, Morne Steyn, Zane Kirchner and Pierre Spies could be rested from the final home-and-away match.
Any move to field a weakened side would pose a substantial risk to the Bulls in a competition in which momentum and cohesion are vital. The Waratahs learned that lesson in 2002 when, after being assured a home semi-final, they benched several top players for the final round against the Crusaders and were belted 96-19. They lost their home semi-final to the Brumbies 51-10.
L’Estrange hopes talk of the Bulls benching the majority of their squad was only a rumour, but the NSWRU will monitor the situation and assess their team when it is named on Thursday.
There is no SANZAR law preventing a team from resting players, or limiting the number of those who are spelled in any week.
”We look forward [to] a competition that has the best final week of any in Super 14, or any competition has seen for a long time,” L’Estrange said. ”I would hate to think anything would affect that.”

Sure the Stormers won’t lose structure.
They will stand in a nice straight line behind the sticks while the Bulls 2nd’s convert their 4th try…….

@Heavens Game(Heavens Game)-31:
as long as theyre better than Greg Rawlinson.

@Heavens Game(Heavens Game)-45:
You Safas still got the last laugh there too.
Putts rapid descent from the lofty reins of Natal took him not only back to NZ, but firstly to my NPC team – Counties – where he failed miserably, and then on to my school teams 1st XV, where we failed to beat our main rival (whole season hinges on this match). Maybe he is now running the social-veterans grade of Thursday night mixed touch-rugby ?
Rawlinson still remains a very septic thorn in our side and scar tissue still remains, please make your way quietly to the Exit.

Greg Rawlinson was voted North Harbour’s “Most Valuable Player” by his team-mates during the same Air New Zealand cup season in which he earned his AB test caps.

@TheTackler(TheTackler)-62:
Then the rest of the Harbour team must have been really shite. Too many Safa imports like yerself, Tickler.
To be fair to Clutch van den Cargo, NPC was definitely his level. How on earth he climed beyond that will remain one of lifes great mysteries.
@Heavens Game(Heavens Game)-48:
Couldnt you atleast have found some better examples ?
Lomu was born in the same hospital I was, National Womens in Epsom, Auckland.
Buncey not only does have a smidgen of Samoan but also a teaspoon of Cooks and a pinch of Nuie. He is, clearly, a real Kiwi bro tho, also born in Auckland and bred in Mangere like Jonah.
the Bachops couldnt be more Canterbury if they wore homespun jerseys and navy moleskins. They too had enough of a twinkle in the eye to don the jerseys of not only Samoa but Cooks and Tahiti too. But born in Christchurch.
Roko ? well its true he’s a proud Fijian but one that has had his entire schooling in Auckland, similarly to Sivivatu.

MVP is MVP. And 4 AB test caps is indelibly on the permanent record.

Rawlinson would make AB side in 2010.look at AB lock stocks.they are leaner that in 06-07 period where “Dolph” became an AB.he was a better player than Boric/Ross.he is the equivalent of O’Neill/Bryn Evans
Pity about James Ryan.he would be the premier lock in NZ now.Thought Simon Maling left too early as well.After Thorn who while being as tough as old boots-he isn’t a premier lock in world rugby.But fulfill his role with aplomb for AB’s.
After him its really BARE
Its scary.
