Hore in doubt for ABs
14 May 2010
Andrew Hore dislocated his shoulder in the Hurricanes’ loss to the Waratahs and could miss New Zealand’s June Tests.
Hore reluctantly left the field after 22 minutes and was later sent to hospital for scans. X-rays cleared him of a broken bone, but the injury could jeopardise his ability to play for the All Blacks this June.
The Canes missed his leadership in the 32-16 loss, as well as his value at scrum-time.
‘It was [big],’ said Canes centre Conrad Smith. ‘He’s a guy who has been brilliant all year. He’s the guy, when we’ve been down to talk us up. There’s a few of us that have been talking, but he’s the voice. He’s been our leader all year and it was tough to lose him.
‘Obviously when he went off for good we knew it was something serious because he wouldn’t go off for just a niggle.’

Hore vs Bismark DuP is fast becoming an annual contest of arguably the world’s two best players in the tight. Both have freakish tendencies to turn over ball in mauls and are impossible to put down in the tackle before they’ve marched through 5 metres or so.
This is a real shame for the test season.
Have your say
