Perpignan destroyed Toulouse’s hopes of a double by beating them 18-13 in the Top 14 semi-final on Friday.
Going into this match, Toulouse were in contention for both the Top 14 and European Cup titles. Following this defeat, however, they will need to down Biarritz in the coming European Cup final in order to finish the season with some silverware.
Toulouse scored the game’s only try through Mathieu Bezy, but it was Jerome Porical’s six penalties that proved decisive for the hosts. Daan Human and Shaun Sowerby started for Toulouse while former Stormers utility back Gavin Hume started at flyhalf for Perpignan.
