Sarries topple Saints

Schalk Brits scored a late try as Saracens reached their first Premiership final with a 21-19 win over Northampton.

Brits’s score drew the teams level, and Glen Jackson slotted the conversion after Sarries had trailed 8-7 at the break. Ernst Joubert was also instrumental in the win, while Sarries had their usual contingent of South Africans in the side.

For the Saints, Brian Mujati started at tighthead and he scored, while Juandre Kruger had a brilliant game in the second row as his lineout work, defence and ball-carrying ability was invaluable.

Sarries will meet Leicester in the final, after they beat Bath 15-6. The Tigers pack took control after the break as the teams were level 6-6 at half-time, which led to a string of penalties against the visitors.
