All Blacks’ injury woes continue

Isaia Toeava will be sidelined for the rest of the year with a hip injury.

The 26-Test utility back will have to undergo surgery and is expected to be out for up to six months.

This is a big blow for All Blacks coach Graham Henry as Toeava was the likely replacement for injured outside centre Ma’a Nonu, who is out of action for six weeks with a knee injury.

Loosehead prop Tony Woodcock and centre Richard Kahui are also suffering with injuries, which could hamper their preparations for the June Tests.

Wing Sitiveni Sivivatu, locks Ali Williams and Jason Eaton, utility back Mike Delany and hooker Andrew Hore are already ruled out with injury. Lock Tom Donnelly and fullback Mils Muliana are expected to recover from their injuries that kept them out for the latter stages of the Super 14, but they will be short on match fitness.
