Jongi Nokwe will return for the Cheetahs this weekend in a compulsory Currie Cup friendly against Border.
After the Cheetahs’ win over the Blues in the Super 14, Nokwe broke his jaw and missed the final couple of matches. He has recovered from that injury, and will start in East London.
The news is also positive for the Springboks, who are still without wingers such as JP Pietersen, Lionel Mapoe, and the Ndungane brothers – Odwa and Akona.
This match against Border will be the Cheetahs’ final warm-up before they face Western Province on 10 July. Interesting selections include Louis Strydom ahead of Sias Ebersohn, while former SA U20 hooker PW van Vuuren gets a chance to prove his worth.
