Juandre Kruger has been selected on the reserve bench for the Blue Bulls’ friendly against Eastern Province.
Kruger returns to Pretoria after a stint with Northampton Saints, and will get his first opportunity to show the Bulls coaches why he will be an asset in the Currie Cup. Coach Frans Ludeke has handed Gary Botha the captaincy while former Springbok flyhalf Jaco van der Westhuyzen will wear the No 15 jersey in Saturday’s game.
EP have recruited a number of new players and will be led by former Bok centre De Wet Barry. Fullback Tiger Mangweni, lock Rory Duncan and Darron Nell are notable inclusions. The new players are likely to form part of the Southern Kings franchise when it eventually gets off the ground.
