@sharks_lover(sharks_lover)-6: Whats your opinion of young Rhodes?
8 Jul 2010, 18:06 pm
@Heavens Game(Heavens Game)-7: very good play HG but he has not really grabbed the chances that have come his way
a lot of talent, but he truelly needs to step up
8 Jul 2010, 18:09 pm
sorry was thinking ABOUT DOWNEY
rhodes has done well but i am still not totally convinced
he played very well against the valke
also can be used at lock
8 Jul 2010, 18:13 pm
@sharks_lover(sharks_lover)-8: Yeah, chaps reckon he has a lot of potential. I remember hime coming on against the BI Lions – big boy, solid – he caught the eye, like Mvovo in that game, even though he only played 10-12 mins.
8 Jul 2010, 18:13 pm
Have the Sharks successfully stolen Mapoe now? Or is that still up in the air?
8 Jul 2010, 18:17 pm
@WOLFMAN21(WOLFMAN21)-11: Only Dolf knows
Yeah, he’s a Shark unless he has a Mossie contract.
8 Jul 2010, 18:18 pm
@WOLFMAN21(WOLFMAN21)-11: If it is, I hope Kirchner is not calling for it!!!
8 Jul 2010, 18:21 pm
@coma(coma)-13: If he is wearing his Bulls shirt, it will land safetly in his arms, if he is wearing green and gold, get ready to scramble!
8 Jul 2010, 18:25 pm
@WOLFMAN21(WOLFMAN21)-14: lol, he’s got “cabous vd Westhuizen disease”
8 Jul 2010, 18:53 pm
Do you know if Len Olivier is back from France ?
8 Jul 2010, 18:57 pm
@jauzy19(jauzy19)-16: nope len is still in france till end 2011
8 Jul 2010, 18:59 pm
when will terblanche retire? He must go now he is taking up space for the youngsters.
8 Jul 2010, 19:03 pm
@Transformation(Transformation)-18: transie hello you damn darkie
boetman , stefan is looking after the place while adi and mapoe are injured
8 Jul 2010, 19:05 pm
@Transformation(Transformation)-18: transie one thing you can never accuse the sharks of, and thats to say they dont take care of thier aged
8 Jul 2010, 19:17 pm
@sharks_lover(sharks_lover)-5:
That shows that the sharks have some depth
Next year:
15 Pat Lambie
14 JP Pietersen
13 Adi Jacobs
12 Meyer Bosman
11 Louis Ludik
10 Andre Pretorius
9 Ruan Pienaar
8 Ryan Kankowski
7 Willam Albert
6 Jean Deysel
5 Ross Skeate
4 Steven Sykes
3 Jannie Du Plessis
2 John Smit
1 Tendai Mtawarira
16 Bismark Du Plessis
17 Pat Cilliers
18 Gerhard Mostert
19 Keegan Daniel
20 Rory Kockott
21 Steve Meyer
22 Odwa Ndungane
23 Wihahn Herbst
24 Alistair Hargraves
25 Jaques Botes
26 Guy Cronje
27 Charl Mccloed
28 Riaan Swanepoel
29 Andries Strauss
30 Monty Dumond
31 Lwazi Mvovo
32 Vudlinlu
33 Skholiwe Ndlovu
34 Craig Burden
35 Pat Cilliers
Considering that these have left in the past seasons:
F Steyn, Murray, Terblanche, Muller + Van Den Berg.
8 Jul 2010, 19:22 pm
Nice side, a good mix of youth, experience and the old age home…but ST is probably still the fittest guy on the field.
8 Jul 2010, 19:24 pm
what of BJ and Butch?? they also left lol
and you have pat cilliers twice
8 Jul 2010, 19:26 pm
23 – butch, i hear will playing for the lions
8 Jul 2010, 19:27 pm
agreed rhys lots of depth
problem in backline is some super stars
now south africas most promising 10 at school level is a youngster from glenwood , he did not play in craven week as he broke his leg in the glenwood college game played about 3 weeks ago, this kid is brilliant
also for the junior sharks this year is a big strong 12 and fast , most say he very unlucky no to make the sa craven week team
so further down the line sharks have some of their own kids comming through nicely
but its still atleast 2 years away
8 Jul 2010, 19:28 pm
@Zulushark(Zulushark)-24: nope that fell through
8 Jul 2010, 19:30 pm
@sharks_lover(sharks_lover)-26:
That does’nt suprise me. Who wants to live in JHB. Butch has always been a true shark boy, I’m sure he will coem back and retire here….next year with Stephan
8 Jul 2010, 20:10 pm
@sharks_lover(sharks_lover)-17:
Are you sure ? The question is where ? I’m french and for the moment we have no idea where he’s heading to. He’s leaving Montauban (relegated in third division due to financial problems) but we have no more news.
8 Jul 2010, 20:14 pm
@Rhys7(Rhys7)-21:
Kockott instead of Pienaar who is leaving for Europe (Ulster). Don’t forget Eugene Van Staden, good prop coming from Montpellier in France. I’m not sure that André Pretorius will stay after the Currie Cup.
8 Jul 2010, 20:41 pm
@jauzy19(jauzy19)-29: so far neither are leaving all just talk
as for len that is the last i heard
i dont read the french sites though as i dont speak or read the lingo
guess time will tell
8 Jul 2010, 21:52 pm
Well I guess that means the wingers won’t be getting much ball.
Seriously, how many 2 on 1s did ST bomb this year by throwing a dummy and going himself…
8 Jul 2010, 22:35 pm
@sharks_lover(sharks_lover)-23:
Yeahh but sharks have front rows coverd, BJ Botha would be more use to Stormers or Lions imo, Eugene Van Staden should be instead of one of the 2 pat cilliers i accidentally put down
Sharks need a good 10 and they sorted, Butch James would have been ideal
they should also be hopeful Frans steyn returns when contract finishes in racing metro
@SAinNZ(SAinNZ)-31:
is there any need to criticise one of the longest serving, fittest members of a sharks squad and at his age and experience
he did well at 13 in s14
lambie is the new star 15 at sharks with murray gone and jacobs injured, who better than terblanche to play at 13.
9 Jul 2010, 02:36 am
@Transformation(Transformation)-18: why, he’s still an asset. Depth is key, especially at Sharks where there seems to be a backline injury crisis every year to mess up their S14.
9 Jul 2010, 03:14 am
@Big Hit(Big Hit)-33: an asset that doesn’t pass, i can still see mvovo flying next to hims screaming for the ball only for stephan to do the usual tugging of the ball underneath his arm and going for glory, bloody old ****, he is not a 13′s arse
9 Jul 2010, 03:29 am
@Transformation(Transformation)-34: yeah he’s not a 13, I’ll grant you that, but you were talking about him retiring completely.
9 Jul 2010, 03:40 am
@Big Hit(Big Hit)-35:yes, lambie doesn’t need any babysitter. O’connor, dagg, lambie – that is the future. If percy has retired stephan should be @ happy acres in a rocking chair.
9 Jul 2010, 03:42 am
@Big Hit(Big Hit)-35: plus the sharks have louis ludik too.
9 Jul 2010, 03:45 am
@Transformation(Transformation)-36: can’t always be building for the future, that’s some Robbie Deans schtick. ST is good cover and if in form a good starter.
9 Jul 2010, 08:45 am
Are these new youngsters all from The Sharks Academy?
9 Jul 2010, 09:04 am
Please tell me this is Terblanche’s last year with the Sharks?? Loose trio looks a bit light….Looks like a good team for the future, lots of promising youngsters.
9 Jul 2010, 09:25 am
this is, in fact, not Lambie’s debut. He came on for the Sharks against the Leopards in last year’s Currie Cup.
Strike another one up for poorly-researched tabloid **** journalism, guys
9 Jul 2010, 09:39 am
If I were dolf I’d be giving Morgan Newman a call….
9 Jul 2010, 15:47 pm
@stormersboy(stormersboy)-42: is he back from injury? Kirchner absolutely pole-axed him
Have your say
