Cape schools back in action

SACS are hoping that a memorable overseas tour will translate into local success when they host Paarl Boys on Saturday.

While the SACS 1st XV has struggled in the WP Premier A this season, they won all five of their matches in South America, including a 16-13 win over Buenos Aires’ Cardinal Newman (regarded as the continent’s ‘Grey College’). Paarl Boys are coming off the back of a 29-23 victory against Oakdale.

In other Western Cape matches this weekend, Bishops will host Tygerberg with both teams having played Nico Malan in their previous fixtures (Tygerberg thrashed their opponents 53-17 while Bishops won 33-10).

HTS Drostdy will host Boland Landbou, Oakdale travel to Paul Roos (who will be without their SA Schools stars), Paarl Gym meet Outeniqua, Rondebosch entertain Brackenfell and Rangers-Silvertree go to Wynberg.
