Still no clarity on Mapoe

Lionel Mapoe will only know next week whether he’ll continue with the Cheetahs or play for the Sharks.

Mapoe’s currently at the centre of a contractual dispute. He’s been training with the Sharks, but the Cheetahs claim he still has a contract with them and are refusing to give him a clearance certificate to play for the coastal union.

After an arbitration case on Thursday, the outcome will be known next week.

    Bakkies se kontrak was waterdig.

@Staal(Staal)-5: Ok Staal. Maar dit beteken die Sharks se kontrak is ook nie ‘waterdig’ nie en ook nie geldig nie. So… jou bulle kan hom mos dan vat?

Wonder hoe ‘waterdig’ is Morné Steyn se kontrak.

@Bouts(Bouts)-9: Morne is gelukkig waar hy is. Hy word nie peanuts betaal soos Lionel nie. Ek wens so die Bulle kon hom koop. Daai laaitie gaan die ander spanne nog baie k@k besorg!

As a Sharks fans I am pleased at the prospect of having Mapoe play for my team. However, the fact that the Sharks are continually involved in these contractual disputes makes me wonder if the players we are recruiting have integrity, or is perhaps just a case of the other unions employing substandard lawyers to draw up their player contracts.

@Bouts(Bouts)-9: Jaque L Potgieter much more creative and offers 10X more than Morne “Needs Fouries Inside and WO outside” Steyn.

The answer is a clear as daylight, Sharks take Mapoe and the Cheetahs take the millions that they are willing to pay for him.
    Easy is, easy does.
