Hoskins’ words fall on deaf ears

South Africa’s big five provinces have ignored Saru president Regan Hoskins’ request to field more players of colour in the Currie Cup.
On Monday, Hoskins sent a letter to all South African provincial presidents, CEOs and MDs saying that Currie Cup sponsor Absa had complained to Saru about the lack of black representivity in the tournament.
‘Up until now I have only had politicians complaining about the lack of black representivity on the field of play,’ wrote Hoskins. ‘This time, and for the first time, I have heard from the sponsor of the Currie Cup competition itself about the serious lack of commitment towards transformation.’ He said this applied mainly to the bigger unions who get more exposure on TV.
Hoskins added that Absa were set to become the Springboks’ main sponsor over the next five years and that ‘our teams’ make-up on the field of play poses a direct threat to us continuing to enjoy the support of business’.
He asked the provinces to ‘speak to all concerned … before this impacts on us negatively’.
Absa’s complaint followed last week’s round, which saw just 12 players of colour (four black Africans) selected for the starting XVs of the big five unions.
However, Hoskins’ strongly worded letter has had no impact with that number dropping to 11 for this weekend’s round, with the Lions fielding two players of colour instead of last week’s three (Burton Francis is on the bench).

well I can’t seem to log on on my PC, is either keo.co.za deciding to pull the plug on my ego bashing escapades or else its just a glitch in my operating system.
Whatever the reason seems these ego’s getting off lightly tonight. Or else my Nokia gonna have to be working overtime.
Take it easy Grant keep up your honest integrity, its the only thing that stands you in good stead in the long run, most these other two faced Charlatan chirping chipmunks simply don’t know integrity or honorability when it stares them in their heinous heathen (science doting) faces. One can only surmise that at least the unseen universal laws that govern everything, including what is honorable from what is not, sees and notes down with the precision of an absolute precise task master the true intent within every man’s heart.
