I’m having a problem in the office with all of the dust and sand blowing in. I’m worried about the effect the sand will have on the foam and hence the high replacement costs, but the traditional one doesn’t pick up the water so nicely and tends to just ‘push’ the sand around.

So would you recommend a tradional string mop or one of the foam squeezy ones?

last week I visited the Jimi Hendrix exhibition at his former flat in Mayfair, London. The exhibition was in recognition of 40 years since he died. I went with my bro-in-law who was over from Saigon, and is a blues musician himself. Great to get an insight from a musician, pointed out the way Jimi played his guitar upside-down (he was a leftie but would flip a righthand guitar around). The day before he died, P.McCartney had bought him a customized lefthand guitar. And also the incredible length of his fingers, more pertinently his thumbs, which was allowed him to play that muthafucka upside down in the first place. Great stuff there including his famous felt hat and a couple of his funky performance jackets. His Death Certificate also on display (‘choked on own vomit…..full of barbituates’).

He was a Legend. Little Wing remains 1 of my Top 10 tracks of all time.
