The most surprising part of that interview was reading Derick Hougaard is only 27, he looks and plays as if he’s a bashed up 35 year old.

I like Venter, he brings a passion and intensity to the AP that isn’t always present with other coaches, he’s also brought a number of Saracens players into England contention, something that wasn’t happening for years previously. However, he does need to button it about referees, suck it up when you lose because you’re not going to change anything just make yourself sound like a bad loser. It’s ok for fans, not coaches.

What is the chances of Alister Coetzee becoming the next bok coach and Venter becoming the next Stormers and Province coach? In the interview he still spoke about how happy he is at Sarries. Now the news has come through that he is returning to SA next year.

When Leicester come to Vicarage Road, the Sarries hosts should put them in the dog box.
Poor sportmanship on Leicesters part I’d say….now they will make up rules about where the opposition coaches should sit.

Sorry, but poor seat allocation or not, gestures towards fans in close proximity by the team coach aint a good look. It wasnt.

Im on record here as supporting this guy as a good coach (sssssshhhhhh, he’s a Safa too – doesnt do my reputation any good….), and backed his previous comments re referees which he also got in trouble for.

Thanks for the sweeping generalisations, however, about taking 1 isolated ‘negative’ comment amongst vastly more ‘positive’ ones and then turning it into “a nation of British brown-nosers”.

I’ll leave aside any sweeping-generalisations about what that says you and your own nation of, undoubtedly, different peoples.

@Black Panther : You Kiwis are such a nation of British brown-nosers, honestly. His behaviour is explained in the article, and it was a non-event. If anything, it was shocking hosting by the Leicester Tigers and they should have been fined for their pettiness. Honestly, putting the bloody coach in the press box. But perhaps you are just so conditioned to the British tabloid mentality that independent thought is just not possible? Its in the papers, so it must be true?
