Ive been saying for 12mths already that the Aussies will be the team NZ fear the most. Its the rivalry, the coach, the confidence of youth, the NZers (Cooper & O’Conner) and Devils Spawn (ARU CEO) himself.

Safas dont see any further past their own noses when it comes to their rivalry with NZ, but the Aussies like nothing better than beating the ABs in rugby and can do so when least expected to. Im not sure if this young Aus team can go all the way, but they most definitely have it in them to beat any team, incl ABs, in a 1-off. And thats all it takes.

In ‘big games’, the Boks disappeared en masse. But only a fool would right them off. But, then, youre a fool JL1, so thats why you write-off anyone who is not wearing Green’n'Gold. Or Blue.

Kaino was astounding in winning the Grand Slam, look for the immense repeat-tackles when the ABs were under the kosh on their line vs Ire and Engl. His stats showed he won 90% of his lineout calls. And he was also prevalent in giving the final pass in key tries throughout the season, in partic in TriN and, again, vs Ire and Eng showing hands worthy of the best centres. Given that his schoolboy career was primarily at 13, then thats no surprise.

Still living on past glories, arent you JL1. Cant quite believe that 2 x S14 Finalists couldnt produce a dominant Bok side, whilst ignoring NZ providing 3 x S14 SemiFinalists in 2009 but then capitulating in the TriN.

In fact it was the Bok tight-5 who laid the platform for Bok success in 2009, not the loosies. Bismarck was superb esp in the loose, Vic dominating the lineouts, the maul was the key weapon. Bok fans have got drunk on Brussows emergence on the scene, and he really was brilliant, but this was because they finally picked a proper openside flanker instead of a bludgeon like Burger. The effect was dramatic. But outside of the breakdown, Brussow was anonymous except when he was consigned to ball-carrier at the back of that magnificent maul. To assume Brussow will have the same effect under the new ‘rules’ is grasping at straws, his tackle/turnover technique, which was his point-of-difference, will now be penalised.

The best SA loosie is, by some considerable distance, Juan Smith. But even he would have struggled to beat any team on his own, which is what he would have had to do with Spies persona non grata in TriN’10.
