Keo.co.za brings you news from the Six Nations.
Parisse to face Irish – Italy captain Sergio Parisse is expected to play in their opening Six Nations clash with Ireland despite dislocating a finger during Stade Francais’ defeat to Castres last week.
Other players who are struggling with injuries are flanker Robert Barbieri and centre Gonzalo Garcia, while flanker Paul Derbyshire has been ruled out for the first two Tests.
Head coach Nick Mallett has now added New Zealand-born flank Josh Sole, lock Valerio Bernabo and utility back Matteo Pratichett to his 26-man squad.
Injury floors Ferris – Ireland’s long list of injuries increased this weekend with loose forward Stephen Ferris set to miss Saturday’s game in Rome due to a knee injury. He joins Tommy Bowe, Shane Horgan, John Hayes, Jamie Heaslip, Andrew Trimble, Rob Kearney, Jerry Flannery and Geordan Murphy on the sideline.
Scrumhalf Tomas O’Leary, flanker Kevin McLaughlin and fullback Gavin Duffy were all called up to Ireland’s 26-man squad to replace the injured players.

Sergio Parisse is the best number 8 in the world. Would be so great if he had some more back up in Italy and they were a force in world rugby. The more competition in the world game the better it would be for everyone.
